Tai and Naiyahmi Yasharahyalah, From Africa, Found Guilty of Their Three-Year-Old Sons' Death
-Parents Guilty of Causing Buried Boys' Death The parents of a severely malnourished boy whose body was found buried in a garden in Birmingham UK have been found guilty of causing his death. BBC 6 DEC 2024 ![]() SAVAGE Tai and Naiyahmi Yasharahyalah 42 and 43, showed breathtaking arrogance and cruelty in their neglect of three-year-old Abiyah. ![]() The couple, before their detention, who buried son in garden ![]() ![]() ![]() The Yasharahyalahs from Africa, who lived an off-grid existence, were evicted in March 2022 and police found their sons' body in the garden December that year. Both parents had denied neglect, causing or allowing the death of a child and perverting the course of justice. The court had heard how Abiyah died following a respiratory infection, but this was not the full extent of his poor health. He had been in a severely malnourished state and suffered with a list of other problems. The scale of his parents' neglect only emerged after his body was exhumed. Post-mortem tests failed to ascertain the cause of Abiyahs death because tests on soft tissue, which had decomposed, could not be carried out. But experts were able to say that if the three-year-old died from a respiratory illness, as described by his parents, the effects of malnutrition would have been a more than minimal cause of his death. Jurors heard how the couple failed to give him enough food or get medical help when he was in pain. Abiyah had suffered from bone fractures, rickets, anaemia, stunted growth and severe dental decay. Tai Yasharahyalah said in his Igbo culture it was believed every person had a physical and spiritual form, the latter of which could be saved. The pair did not call the emergency services after Abiyah died because strangers could scare off spirits. Instead, they lit a paraffin lamp in the room near him as a beacon, in case his spirit wished to return to his body. ![]() Evidence from examinations of Abiyahs remains showed he had suffered five broken bones, including a fractured arm, and rib fractures. ![]() ![]() The sign on the front door of their home in Handsworth, Birmingham ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The couple were hiding in a filthy caravan in Somerset in 2022 when they were arrested ![]() They will be sentenced next Thursday https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlPl5WtH2U4 |

BRUTAL Savage Immigrants Who Starved Infant Son to DEATH Jailed For Total of 44 Years
Parents jailed for total of 44 years over cruelty & death of buried boy, 3 AP 19 DEC 2024 ![]() A CRUEL couple whose severely malnourished sons body was found buried in the garden of their former home were jailed for a total of 44 years. Three-year-old Abiyahs body was found behind a house in Birmingham, nine months after Tai and Naiyahmi Yasharahyalah, 42 and 43, had been evicted from the property. The pair were were found guilty of causing the death of the child, whose body was found at the house in Clarence Road, Handsworth. Tai Yasharahyalah was jailed for 24-and-a-half years and Naiyahmi Yasharahyalah was given 19-and-a-half years during a hearing at Coventry Crown Court. During an eight-week trial, the court heard that the couple lived off grid and created their own bespoke belief system based on a mixture of elements that drew from New Age mysticism and West African religion. After the death of Abiyah, they kept his body inside their home for eight days, before embalming the body using frankincense and myrrh prior to a ritualistic burial in their garden. Sentencing, Mr Justice Wall their son died as a result of your wilful neglect of him. He said the three-year-old had a catalogue of injury and disease at the time of his death. The couple heard that the judge believed they both realised how unwell their son was prior to his death. I am sure that each of you played a part in starving him and failing to get medical care for him when the need for it was obvious to you, he said. When Abiyah died you did not call an ambulance or seek any medical assistance in the hope that his life could be saved. ![]() 'Instead you took his body into the back garden and there buried it' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlQl8yrApr4 |
