Veteran rocker, 79, is no longer trying to sell his palatial nine-bedroom property
Lancaster, 53, left fuming at Stewart's 360 on their plans to leave the US
Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster are desperately working on their 17-year marriage after the singer reneged on their plans to sell his $74 million Beverly Hills mansion and return full-time to the UK.
The veteran British rocker, 79, promised Lancaster, 53, they would pack up their lives in Los Angeles for their sprawling $5.8 million countryside estate in Harlow, Essex, after he revealed it was 'time to leave' the US last year.
But DailyMail.com has learned the pair are now at a 'stalemate,' with Stewart refusing to leave LA, and a furious Lancaster refusing to stay after he extended his Las Vegas residency and rejected two offers on the sprawling nine-bedroom property just over a month ago.
The news comes days after Lancaster - who has sons Alastair, 18, and Aiden, 13 with the Maggie May singer she married in 2007 - hinted at ?family issues.?
?Rod loves his life in LA and he flies back and forth to Vegas for his gigs,? a well-placed insider said. ?He gets to spend quality time with his grandchildren and hosts a banquet dinner almost every Sunday night at home for a crowd of his best friends.?
Sir Rod Stewart, 79, is Forced to Axe Further Shows Amid Health Battle
In a statement shared to his Instagram on Friday night, the rocker informed his fans he would be missing a planned gig that night and another on Saturday after testing positive for Covid-19.
The news comes days after Rod was forced to cancel his historic 200th Las Vegas show on Wednesday due to suffering from strep throat.
The Maggie May hitmaker was due to perform at Stateline in Nevada on Friday, followed by a gig at Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln, California - both of which have now been postponed.
The statement confirmed that the concerts have been moved to later this month, giving Rod time to recover from his illness.
