In the wake of Hurricane Ida, Louisiana is facing extensive power outages and fuel shortages which could last for weeks.

 Fears of a repeat of the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina back in 2005 have diminished - but in the sweltering summer heat, and with COVID cases still on the rise, there may be difficult times ahead the people of New Orleans.
