Two of the most accomplished light heavyweight veterans on the UFC roster will battle again this summer in a rematch five years in the making as Mauricio "Shogun" Rua takes on Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at an as of yet undisclosed event. Get all the details that we currently know below.

A monster Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 205-pound bout has been verbally agreed to for this summer, a rematch eight years in the making.

According to a report by Brazilian media outlet Tatame, former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Mauricio Rua will battle Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at an as of yet undisclosed location this June. The only detail the publication could confirm was that the bout would not be taking place in Brazil.

The two warriors last fought at Pride Critical Countdown 2005 in an incredibly entertaining battle where Shogun would walk away with a unanimous decision.

Rua (21-7) has hit a bit of a rough patch in his UFC career. The former champion has yet to put together consecutive victories since he defeated Mark Coleman and Chuck Liddell in 2009 and is most recently coming off a one-sided beating at the hands of top Swedish contender Alexander Gustafsson at UFC on FOX 5 this past December.

"Shogun" will be looking to prove he still has what it takes to hang with the best in the world.

Nogueira (21-5) is also a longtime PRIDE veteran who has recently started to put it all together inside the Octagon despite a shaky start to his UFC career. "Lil' Nog" has won two straight bouts including an extremely important decision victory over former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans at UFC 156 last month in Las Vegas.

The Brazilian veteran even asked for the rematch against "Shogun" last August, although it took the victory over Evans to finally get his wish.

If Nogueira can defeat Rua, he will not only avenge the 2005 loss, but he'll also have defeated three straight former champions and could be positioning himself for a run at the UFC belt himself.

Stay tuned for more details about the match-up, in particular what event it will occur, as they become available.
