WF: EPL Boss Banned 2 Games for Pushinf Ref
Pardew Hit with Two-Match Ban for Shove
Posted by EurosportAustralia the 04/09/2012 Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has been banned for two games and fined £20,000 for pushing an assistant referee. http://i.eurosport.com/2012/08/18/87...31-640-360.jpgIMG Pardew committed the offence during a Premier League game against Tottenham on August 18 and accepted a Football Association charge of improper conduct. The Magpies boss requested a personal hearing and has now learned his fate. An FA statement read: Quote:
He said after the game: "I'm still embarrassed about what I did. I've never done anything like that before. "I've apologised to him [Burt] and I can't really do any more than that. I've been to see him and we sort of smiled about it. I can't turn the clock back so I'll take my punishment. "It was ridiculous really. The linesman was right in front of me. I thought the ball went out and gave him a little shove. "I've been pleading with my players all this week to behave themselves and show Olympic spirit – and then I get sent off. I can only apologise. "I've been telling the players to be humble and do everything the right way but they did the right things and I didn't. "It was 100 per cent stupid. It was silly. I don't know what I was thinking." |
