After a brief visit from the pesky injury bug, the roster for "UFC 130: Edgar vs. Maynard III” has once again been finalized. The May 28th show takes place inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and features a lightweight title scrap between champion Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard.
Brad Pickett was slated to face Miguel Torres in a bantamweight affair, however Pickett was forced to pull out with an undisclosed injury. Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson agreed to play substitute and challenge the former WEC 135-pound champion.
Johnson was scheduled to fight Renan Barao on the card, so Barao was left dateless in Vegas … until now.
It has been announced Cole Escovedo will step in on four weeks notice to battle Barao.
While some recent UFC fight cards have showcased 12 bouts, this roster was previously announced as complete prior to Pickett’s injury.
The pay-per-view broadcast starts live at 9PM ET/6PM PT.
