Eagles add QB Trent Edwards

NFL free agency doesn't officially begin until March 13. However players who had contracts terminated last season are fair game now.
Sustained success has eluded QB Trent Edwards during his five-year NFL career.




In that vein, the Eagles and QB Trent Edwards agreed to a one-year deal Thursday, a move that likely signals backup Vince Young's departure from Philadelphia.

Edwards, a third-round pick of the Bills in 2007, has 33 NFL starts to his credit, all but one with Buffalo. He has also spent time with the Jaguars and Raiders, who cut him prior to last season.

Edwards, who parted with the Bills early in the 2010 season after losing his job to Ryan Fitzpatrick, has a 14-19 career record, 6,019 passing yards, a 26-30 TD-INT ratio and a 75.4 passer rating.
