Holly Bobo Disappearance Exhibits Numerous Points of Interest

Holly Bobo has been missing now for nearly two and a half months and the story is nothing short of confusing. In this span of time stories have changed and so has the behavior of people involved. So, what happened to Holly Bobo, really? There are a lot of "red flags" in this missing persons case that add to the melting pot of rumors, confusion and mixed stories from media outlets. There are also a lot of differences between how this case and other high profile cases are being currently handled.

You see, early on when Holly was first allegedly abducted from her home, it was reported that her brother called the police and said she was "dragged" into the woods by a man in camouflage. When the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrived on the scene they did not find drag marks on the property indicating that she was dragged. To this day it hasn't been addressed as to whether Clint changed his story or if the law enforcement involved with this case changed the story. Either way, the story has changed.

The day after it occurred, Karen and Dana Bobo, Holly's parents, addressed the media to plead for the missing nursing student's return. This appearance was strained, and it didn't seem as if they were pleading with an abductor as much as they were asking their daughter to just come home. Clint Bobo, Holly's 25-year-old brother, was not at this appearance, even though he was the last person to have seen her and allegedly watched her be abducted from their front yard. This would be the last time the family would make an on-camera or audible appearance until recently--damn near three months after the disappearance.

Over the course of the investigation, there have been conflicting statements made by different people. Initially, country music singer and cousin of Holly Bobo, Whitney Duncan, made a statement about Clint. She posted on her Twitter account that he was cleared of any suspicion for good reason and people need to shut up, basically. Well, not even a few days later Kristen Helm of the TBI made it clear that nobody had been ruled out as a person of interest in this case, including Clint Bobo and the rest of the family for that matter. One news report even made mention that a law enforcement official said he was once cleared but "things have changed." It should be mentioned that no law enforcement has made any changes to this fact.

Finally, after nearly three months of his sister being missing, Clint Bobo briefly spoke in front of the camera for WBBJ in Tennessee; however, he spoke nothing of this mysterious man in camouflage, nor did he reiterate or solidify any of the statements given in his name by police, media or others. Instead, he flashed a series of pink bracelets and seemed accepting of his new life as the brother of a missing woman. One interesting point was revealed by the interview, however, and that was that the abduction took place around the backside of the home. Not the long, front driveway.

Since this media appearance, Karen Bobo has appeared a second time. Not much can be said in words, but it is necessary to point out body language studies. Holly Bobo Points of Interest Part Two

The Holly Bobo disappearance is stumping investigators and those who are following the case, but what is more concerning are the individuals and various changes of story involved. There are numerous points of interest in this case that is just setting it off as something quite different from other missing persons cases in the media spotlight.

This article is the second part of the one that can be read below, and it's to establish the various points of interest in the disappearance of Holly Bobo. It's to point out the inconsistencies and question things that should be questioned. Is this a botched investigation or is it something deeper that isn't being discussed?
It seems as if the TBI is making the Bobos remain as silent as possible and only allowing them to say so much. Otherwise, why wouldn't they be in the media day after day after day like the families of missing students Lauren Spierer and Michelle Le? It just doesn't make sense. Also, the few media appearances made by Karen Bobo indicate a number of things. She seems tired, stressed out, and she honestly looks like she is screaming at the top of her lungs on the inside, while remaining clammed-up on the outside. This isn't good. They should know that they don't work for law enforcement--law enforcement works for them, and they should demand the right to speak up and speak out for their daughter's wellbeing. The constant blinking and shifting of her eyes in her latest video is also indicative that she either wants to say more, or something else--unless of course, they are remaining so suspiciously silent for a reason.

It's also curious to point out that in the course of the past two and a half months, the cousin of Holly Bobo, Whitney Duncan, has stopped speaking about the girl entirely. In the beginning of the nursing student's disappearance, Duncan took to Facebook and Twitter nearly daily. Now it seems as though her cousin is out of sight and out of mind, but why? Perhaps a post she made on April 29th has something to do with her silence? This is her public wall post for April 29th, 2011, the last time she mentions Holly Bobo.

So what does this post mean, and why hasn't she spoken for her cousin online since? She's a sort of celebrity, so surely she could help in keeping the word out on Holly's disappearance.

This weekend a bike rally type of charity event was held for Holly Bobo, and all of the proceeds went straight to the Bobo family in the amount of over $9,000. When you add this to the T-shirt fund that is being saved for a "vacation or whatever Holly wants," they've probably saved up quite a bit of money. Is this going to be added to the reward that is now at $85,000? What's more, why is the reward so high? Why did the governor of Tennessee offer up so much money to aid in her search, yet not for other missing girls that surround a 4-hour radius around Darden and Parsons? Is this indicative that there is something big going on that perhaps warrants such a silent investigation?

Motorcycle ride raises $9,000 for Bobo family

More than 100 motorcycle riders revved engines Saturday morning outside Decatur County Middle School, where the Tennessee River Riders motorcycle association and other residents had a fundraiser and motorcycle ride for the family of missing nursing student Holly Bobo.Garry White, president of the Tennessee River Riders, said the organization hosted the event to support the Bobo family.
"We're just still praying for the Bobo family," he said. "Miracles happen every day, and we're expecting a miracle."

A silent auction, live auction, donations and motorcycle registration of $10 per bike totaled $9,000, which organizers said would go to the Bobo family for whatever they needed.
"People don't realize when someone goes missing, the costs," organizer Marybeth Duke said.
She listed expenses that ranged from conducting search efforts to possible medical and therapy costs upon Bobo's return.
"I have no doubt in my mind that the Bobo family will use that money wisely," said Duke, with the Tennessee River Riders.

She said her son, Brennan Duke, 19, died in a car accident two weeks before Bobo's disappearance.
"So I feel like not only did I lose my son, but two weeks later, I lost a part of my family," Duke said.
Her son was best friends with Drew Scott, Bobo's boyfriend, Duke said.
She used to watch Bobo and her children — Brennan and Tianita Duke, 25 — ride four-wheelers together down her driveway.
She said she still remembers the laughter and Bobo's smile.

"That beautiful smile and those big beautiful blue eyes," she said. "You can't miss those eyes."
Four Days Between band members Nick Yates and Adam Rushing, both 21, said Bobo had always been popular. They were both one grade level ahead of her at Scotts Hill High School, where she graduated.
"She was a sweetheart and very popular, too," Yates said. "Every day, just smiles."
On Saturday, the Bobo family took to Decatur County woods to search for Bobo, who has been missing since April 13. About 10 miles away at Decatur County Middle School, about 350 volunteers supported the motorcycle event that Duke said was one of the biggest riding events the Tennessee River Riders has hosted.

The school gym housed stage performances from the Bryan Moffitt Band and 4 Days Between.Organizers said close to 160 volunteers registered to participate in the morning bike ride.
The live auction brought in $2,800 alone for an honorary T-shirt, helmet and wreath, Duke said. Online pre-registration totals came in at about $500.
"Rain or shine doesn't matter," Duke said in the event opening. "Folks have come out to help bring Holly home."

The spinning blades of a helicopter replaced the growling roars of motorcycles Saturday afternoon after the motorcyclists took off on an honorary ride.
The Tennessee Air Evac Veteran organization brought a donation via helicopter landing on an open lawn near the school. Volunteers, armed with T-shirts and a cash donation of an undisclosed amount, said the group had collected donations from two or three southern bases.
"We've just come to support," Jamie Gean, a flight paramedic, said.

Slick Smith, a motorcycle rider, said he collected $100 in donations from co-workers at the city of Franklin water management department. For him, Bobo's disappearance hit close to home.
"I have four daughters," Smith said.
His daughters — Shannon Holt, 33, Amanda Harding, 29, Amber Serrono, 26, and Dorothy Fralix, 19 — are near the same age as Bobo, 20.
Smith said he attended the event Saturday because he understood how the family must be feeling.
"This (event) is a good thing," he said.
