The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported this afternoon that the earthquake hit California with a magnitude six intensity, near the strength of the earthquake that hit Myanmar

A huge earthquake has unleashed tremours so strong that locals of a famously quake hit city have proclaimed it the biggest they have ever felt.
The quake had a preliminary magnitude of 5.2 and was near the mountain town of Julian, east of San Diego. The tremor swung light fixtures and rattled shelves in San Diego and was felt as far north as Los Angeles, with people reporting they received alerts from the USGS as it rocked them in their homes and as they went about their days.
