Madeleine McCann Suspect Christian Brueckner FINALLY Confesses
Brueckner confessed to abducting girl from Algarve apartment to former cellmate MailOnline 25 SEP 2024 https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/09...7275943151.jpg Christian Brueckner (C) is brought to the courtroom for a session of his trial at court in Braunschweig, northern Germany, on September 25, 2024 https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/09...7272974109.jpg The convicted paedophile is said to have 'confided' in cellmate Laurentiu Codin https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/09...7278429783.jpg Suspect Christian Brueckner confessed to a former cellmate that he took a child from a Portuguese apartment during a break-in, a court in Germany has heard today. The 47-year-old paedophile is said to have asked inmate Laurentiu Codin if he too was behind bars for child offences while they were sharing a cell in 2020. Codin claimed that the convicted rapist had begged him to burn down his lair when he got out of prison, and asked him whether 'the DNA from a child can be taken from bones under the ground.' It comes after German investigators sensationally named Brueckner as the key suspect in the abduction of the British three-year-old Maddie from her family's Praia da Luz holiday apartment in May 2007. Speaking in front of Braunschweig Regional Court today, where Brueckner is standing trial for unrelated sex crimes, Codin told a story which bore striking similarities to the night Maddie disappeared. He told me that in Portugal, that he had stolen there. He was in a region where there are hotels and rich people live,' Codin said. 'He said there was somewhere with an open window, he told me this. He was looking for money. 'He said he didn't find any money but found a kid and took the child. He said that two hours later, there were police and dogs all over the place, so he then went away, out of the area. 'I am just saying what he told me. He told me that a person was with him, who he had had an argument with, allegedly it was his woman. 'He said he took the child in Portugal in his car, and in the time when the police and dogs were at the house, he drove away and he was gone. 'He asked me if the DNA from a child can be found as evidence and I answered yes.' In more disturbing testimony, Codin, 50, said Brueckner had told him how he had used a van to have sex with young girls near Hanover. 'There was talk of a girl, I don't know if what he said was true or not. He said that he had a bus and that he had taken her with it. He said he kept some of them, but not others, but he never said that he had killed them. 'We're talking about girls, not boys. Not all at once, always one at a time. He told me about two. He said that he had taken someone, had sex with her but he didn't kill her.' Asked by the judge how old his victim was, Codin said: 'I don't want to get it wrong, but it was very young, tiny. I mean young. 'Each time when we were together he spoke about it because he was convinced that I was a paedophile.' Brueckner is serving a seven-year jail term for the 2005 rape of American pensioner Diana Menkes, 72, in the Algarve. He is standing trial at Braunschweig district court for unconnected sex crimes allegedly carried out in the Algarve between 2000 and 2017. Deadline for Justice (2024) Next Friday marks a significant development in the 17-year-long Madeleine McCann case. The prime suspect in her abduction and presumed murder, convicted paedophile Christian Brueckner, goes on trial in Germany. But not for what it?s thought he did to Maddie. Instead, he will be facing court charged with multiple sex offences against other children and a number of women. Now while it's not technically about Madeleine, the trial will be an important step for prosecutors in their pursuit of the truth about her death. And as Tara Brown reports, that's because of the evidence of their star witness, a man who has now spoken publicly for the first time. https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/09...7276007021.jpg A house near Praia da Luz resort and Lagos in the Algarve, Portugal, that was used by Christian Brueckner, a German man suspected in the disappearance of British girl Madeleine McCann https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qkx_FEWwt-E |
Madeleine McCann Suspect ACQUITTED of First Charges-Faces Arrest For Maddie Abduc
Madeleine McCann Prime Suspect ACQUITTED of Separate Charges
Convicted paedophile and rapist Christian Br?ckner believed to be linked to 2007 disappearance acquitted by 'controversial' German judge BBC 9 OCT 2024 https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standar...0486eb2a33.jpg Madeleine McCann suspect faces arrest over Maddie abduction after trial ends in shock acquittal The main suspect in the disappearance of three-year-old British girl Madeleine McCann, has been cleared by a German court of rape and sexual abuse in an unrelated trial. Christian Br?ckner, 47, was acquitted of carrying out five offences in Portugal between 2000 and 2017. He is already serving a seven-year jail term in Germany for rape. Br?ckner has not been charged in the case of Madeleine McCann, who disappeared in Portugal in 2007 and has never been found. Br?ckners defence team had argued he should be cleared because of a lack of evidence, although prosecutors had called for the court in Braunschweig in northern Germany to impose an additional 15-year jail term. Br?ckners existing seven-year jail term, imposed by the court in Braunschweig in 2019 for raping an American pensioner, ends next September according to prosecutors. Presiding Judge Uta Engemann said there was insufficient evidence for a conviction and some of the witnesses were unreliable. District prosecutor Christian Wolters told the BBC they would appeal against Tuesday's verdict to the Federal Court of Justice, and until then the verdict was not legally binding. Although he spent many years in the Algarve region of Portugal, Br?ckner moved between there and his native Germany and was identified as a suspect by German investigators in the Madeleine McCann case in 2020. She had been on holiday with her family in the Algarve when she vanished from their apartment in Praia da Luz. German prosecutors are convinced she is no longer alive. Br?ckner was put on trial in Braunschweig as that was where he was last listed as living. Although unrelated to the McCann case, his latest rape trial prompted widespread international interest when it began in February. However, during the summer the court lifted an arrest warrant in connection with the case, which was seen by some observers as an early indication that Br?ckner could be acquitted. Br?ckner himself did not give evidence during the trial, but his lawyer, Friedrich F?lscher, said on Monday that acquittal was "the only correct outcome of the case" because two of the rape victims, a teenager and an elderly woman, had never been identified and the witnesses were not credible. A key witness had earlier told the trial that he had broken into Br?ckner's home in Portugal and found videos involving the rape of a girl and a woman aged 70 to 80. An Irish woman, Hazel Behan, later told the court she had been raped when she was 20 by a masked man who broke into her flat in Portugal in 2004. She waived her anonymity for the trial and described how she had never forgotten Br?ckner's bright eyes, which she said had "bored into my skull". Ms Behan told the court that she believed he was her attacker. Prosecutors had previously said one of the rape charges should be dropped. They have sought to ensure Br?ckner remains in preventive detention when his jail term ends next year. However, Br?ckner's defence lawyer has said he also intends to challenge the 2019 rape conviction. His acquittal in the latest trial has raised questions about the prosecutors' separate case involving the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. Legally there is no connection between the two. The judge made that clear when she delivered the acquittal, saying that the verdict had to be carried out on the basis of evidence for the charges in question, and should not be influenced by other cases or by a public media debate. However, some of the witnesses deemed unreliable by the judge were potential witnesses in the McCann case as well, so Tuesdays verdict may have further repercussions. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/content/...eg?imwidth=680 The district prosecutor disagreed with the courts characterisation of some of the witnesses as unreliable and told the BBC the verdict would not have an impact on their Madeleine McCann inquiry. Their next step is likely to depend on their appeal to the federal court of justice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7kv-aw8210 |
Madeleine McCann Suspect Christian Brueckner Will Be FREED in September
Madeleine McCann Suspect Christian Brueckner Will Walk FREE From Jail Facing NO Charges
German paedophile Christian Brueckner will walk free from prison in September unless detectives find enough evidence to charge him with British Madeleine McCanns disappearance MailOnline 17 JAN 2025 https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incomin..._Harris_05.jpg Prosecutors have admitted Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner will not face any charges for the foreseeable future. Detectives are convinced the paedophile and convicted rapist snatched and killed the British youngster in 2007. Madeleine was just three years old when she vanished from her parents holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal. Drifter Brueckner, 48, was living in a ramshackled farmhouse nearby and regularly broke into villas in the resort. He was dramatically named as the prime suspect in Madeleine?s disappearance by German prosecutors in 2020. Brueckner is currently nearing the end of a seven-year jail term for raping a pensioner in Praia da Luz. He was cleared in October last year of a string of unrelated sex charges that police claimed he carried out in Portugal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_zFivm45FU |

Hard Drive Found at Suspects Factory Contains Evidence Madeleine McCann is DEAD Stash of childrens items and child abuse images also discovered at abandoned factory owned by Christian Brueckner MailOnline 8 MAY 2025 https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/article..._Harris_04.jpg AND Christian Brueckners release could be delayed after he was charged with offences against prison staff at the German jail where he is serving time for a rape sentence https://s.yimg.com/ny/api/res/1.2/Rq...9e068f4cfa5850 A hard drive found at a disused factory bought by the prime suspect in the Madeleine McCann investigation contains evidence she is dead, it has been claimed. German prosecutors believe Christian Brueckner killed the three year old after she vanished during a family holiday in Praia De Luz, Portugal, in 2007. The drive was discovered in 2016 at a disused factory which Brueckner bought for PDS20,000 in 2008, according to The Sun. Investigators also found an insurance document which proves the suspect was at a music festival where he is said to have confessed to killing Madeleine. In 2017, Helge Busching told German authorities that Brueckner had made a comment about a missing girl at the festival in 2008 and that she did not scream Questions about the witness credibility always remained but this could strengthen his account of events with evidence Brueckner was at the festival. Childrens clothes and toys were said to have been located at the abandoned property alongside masks, chemicals and guns. German police also discovered six USB sticks and two memory cards in a wallet. The evidence was detected by a dog in 2016. In one, the suspect described drugging a mother and daughter outside a nursery school, while another spoke of abusing a four year old girl. Skype conversations with other paedophiles were also discovered, including one where he said he wanted to capture something small and use it for days Child abuse images of four and five-year-old girls were also said to have been found during the searches, and police unearthed more than 75 swimming costumes, alongside toys and small bikes. A sat nav also showed Brueckner had been in the Algarve in the years after Madeleine disappeared. The claims will air in full in a Channel 4 UK documentary, The Unseen Evidence on Wednesday night. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/content/...eg?imwidth=640 Documentary following an investigation by The Sun into Madeleine McCanns disappearance, which uncovers further evidence that could point towards the prime suspects involvement in this unsolved crime Bombshell New Evidence In Missing Madeleine McCann Saga https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sU8I5aTVA24 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cS0WUzAmXtU |

The officers removed mounds of earth and deposited them in plastic containers, which will be taken away for further examination. Close by, two blue supply tents had been set up to store equipment, including a ground penetrating radar device. At one derelict sand coloured house, approximately 300 metres from the coastline, a group of four firemen and one police officer pumped a disused well dry. The full crew of around two dozen police officers, firefighters and detectives undertook the eight hour search from 9am. They were joined by a pair of plain clothed detectives. The search is expected to last for three more days and will encompass more than 20 privately owned plots of land to the east of the coastal town where the three year old went missing while on holiday with her parents on 3 May 2007. https://s.yimg.com/ny/api/res/1.2/6F...c9268717165476 It covers a region of scrubland, dotted with disused wells, crumbling farmhouses and dirt tracks, that sits only a few miles from the Ocean Club resort where Madeleine vanished as her parents Kate and Gerry ate tapas nearby with their friends. https://s.yimg.com/ny/api/res/1.2/9z...03cef35dedee10 The operation was launched at the behest of German authorities as part of their investigation into Christian Brueckner, a convicted paedophile and prime suspect in the case who rented two properties in Praia Da Luz around the time of her disappearance. |

Madeleine McCann Suspect Christian Brueckner Writes Sick New Letter From Jail
Christian Brueckner, the prime suspect in Madeleine McCanns missing case, has penned a vile letter where claimed police would never find evidence linking him to the case MailOnline 9 JUN 2025 https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/article...hristian-B.jpg Brueckner at a court hearing is set to be released from prison in September The convicted German paedophile, currently in prison for raping a pensioner, mocked cops in his shocking note which pointed out a body has not been found yet. Twins Amelie and Sean McCann, 20, said they were contacted on social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram by Julia Wandelt, claiming to be their sister who disappeared aged three during a family holiday in Praia da Luz, Portugal in 2007. The court heard messages included Wandelt claiming to have childhood memories of playing Ring a Ring o Roses with them. Polish national Wandelt is accused of sending a letter, calls, voicemails and WhatsApp messages to Kate and Gerry McCann, and sending Maddies younger siblings, twins Amelie and Sean McCann, Instagram messages claiming to be the missing girl. She is on trial alongside co accused Karen Spragg who is accused of one count of stalking involving serious alarm or distress. She is alleged to have made calls, sent letters and attended the home address of Mr and Mrs McCann. Amelie told jurors I just knew she was not Madeleine. I have a feeling that there would be something about her that I would maybe recognise, whereas I didnt think she looks like us. She is Polish and has Polish family that are her parents. It just didnt make sense to me Took a Toll On Mum.... Ms Wandelt posted a letter through the McCanns door a day after she and Spragg turned up outside on 7 December 2024. The letter read;
Dear Mum Kate, 'Im so sorry for causing you so much distress, but when I saw you yesterday, my emotions were so strong. I felt a close connection to you. I dont like to see you being upset. All I want is to find out the truth. I have memories and I have gathered a lot of evidences supporting my case. I think that inside your heart you believe and know who I am and I am your daughter. I dont understand why you dont want to do a DNA test with me. I think you are scared, but whatever makes you scared, just remember that you are stronger than that'
Amelie McCann has told the trial that the alleged stalking took a toll on her mother Kate McCanns wellbeing. She said; I think my mum found it the hardest and was harassed, I guess, by Julia more than the rest of us. It definitely took a toll on her and her wellbeing because all the time her phone would be going off and it would be Julia. Its upsetting when someones begging you to believe them and playing with your emotions to the point you are questioning yourself and doubting yourself. My mum really struggled with that her saying 'Im your daughter' Madeleine McCanns family are giving evidence in court in the trial of a woman who allegedly claimed to be the missing toddler. Julia Wandelt, 24, allegedly called and messaged Kate McCann 60 times in a day claiming to be Madeleine What We Heard From Ellie McQueen Before the lunch break, the court heard from Ellie McQueen, a close friend of the McCann family who was also allegedly contacted by Julia Wandelt online. Heres what she told the court; McQueen said shes known the McCann family her entire life and described Madeleine McCann as like a little sister before her disappearance in 2007 She said messages sent to her by Wandelt on Facebook using a profile named Julia Julia were relentless She said Wandelt seemed upset and aggravated and sent her DNA evidence that she is Maddie, which were passed on to police The court saw screenshots of apparent messages sent on Facebook from Wandelt to McQueen in which she said she remembered a life with the McCann family In other messages, she claimed she had the same spot in my right eye and lots of the same moles as Madeleine. As the prosecution finished asking Mrs McCann questions, Julia Wandelt sobbed loudly and shouted 'why are you doing this to me' Officers escorted her out of the dock at Leicester Crown Court as she continued to cry uncontrollably. Kate and Gerry McCann say we take no pleasure in the result as Polish fantasist who believed she was missing Madeleine McCann is found guilty of harassing them MailOnline 7 NOV 2025 https://e3.365dm.com/24/10/2048x1152...20241008070627 In a public statement released today, the couple also pleaded for new evidence relating to Madeleines disappearance https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2025/11...2535638728.jpg Polish national Julia Wandelt, 24, was found guilty of harassing the McCanns but cleared of stalking them following a trial at Leicester Crown Court. The judge imposed a restraining order on her, saying she posed a significant risk of harassment towards the couple in the future. Speaking after the trial, Mr and Mrs McCann said Despite the jurys guilty verdict of harassment, we take no pleasure in the result. Like most people, we did not want to go through a court process and only wanted the harassment to stop. The decision to prosecute was taken by the Crown Prosecution Service, based on the evidence gathered by the police. We hope Ms Wandelt will receive the appropriate care and support she needs and any vulnerability will not be exploited by others. If anyone has new evidence relating to Madeleines disappearance, please pass this on to the police Both Mr and Mrs McCann gave evidence during the five week trial in which they told how her behaviour had left them distressed. They both became emotional when discussing how Wandelt had also targeted Sean and Amelie and turned up at their house. https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2025/11...2257491342.jpg Wandelts friend and supporter Karen Spragg, 61, a care worker, was cleared of stalking and burst into tears as the verdicts were delivered. The two women were seen holding hands and giggling before the verdicts were read out. The judge Mrs Justice Cutts said the maximum sentence for harassment was six months and Wandelt had already been in custody for longer. She was arrested in February. Wandelt was accused of stalking the McCanns for almost three years, calling, sending messages, leaving voicemails and turning up at their home demanding a DNA test after claiming to be their missing daughter. Her barrister claimed she was vulnerable and her behaviour was that of a rather sad and pathetic young woman acting out of desperation because she believed her parents had lied about who she was. While Spraggs defence team argued she was simply trying to detect a crime that of Madeleines abduction when she took Wandelt to the McCanns home and shouted at Kate. Before Mrs Justice Cutts reconvened court to discuss her sentence, Wandelt appeared to be sobbing in a room behind the dock. The judge told her barrister she would need to compose herself for sentencing and she later sat silently in the dock. Prosecution counsel Michael Duck KC said a restraining order was sought against Wandelt because there had been plain harassment against the McCann family. He said We submit there has been plain harassment and on the face of the evidence, that that will continue into the future and this is a mechanism by which the McCanns can be afforded some protection. The court was told a deportation order had already been served against Wandelt and that it was a matter for the secretary of state whether she remained in custody. The judge handed restraining orders to both women. Wandelt was sentenced to six months. Convicted of Harassing Missing Girls' Parents and Parents Offer Sympathy https://s.yimg.com/ny/api/res/1.2/Wj...4ab6cc5b19b445 The conviction comes after Julia Wandelt, 24, went to Madeleine McCanns parents' home in December 2024 demanding a DNA test to prove she is their missing daughter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWpKSKHfFl8 |
Scotland Yard Pushes to Bring Madeleine McCann Suspect to Britain For Trial
Met Pushes to Bring Madeleine McCann Suspect to Britain
Scotland Yard Wants Christian Brueckner to Face UK Trial Before 20th Anniversary of Girls Disappearance AP 5 MAY 2026 https://www.telegraph.co.uk/content/...eg?imwidth=640 Off the grid and lying low in the woods Christian Brueckners life after prison Madeleine McCann suspect has rarely stayed in one place for long since his release from prison for rape of elderly woman Metropolitan Police detectives are trying to bring Christian Brueckner to Britain to stand trial for the abduction and murder of Madeleine McCann https://i.dailymail.com/1s/2026/05/0...7925183676.jpg Brueckner, 48, was named as the prime suspect in the toddler's disappearance by German police while serving a sentence for the rape of a pensioner. However charges were never brought and he was released last year. Now, one of Scotland Yards most senior officers is leading a push to charge Brueckner by the end of the year. The Met wants to see him stand trial at the Old Bailey and is confident it can present a strong enough case to see the Crown Prosecution Service bring charges. But the German constitution does not allow the extradition of its citizens to countries not in the European Union meaning the suspects transfer to the United Kingdom could cause a diplomatic row. https://i.dailymail.com/1s/2026/05/0...7967304659.jpg Brueckner was living just a mile away from the Praia da Luz hotel where Madeleine had been staying with her family at the time of her disappearance in 2007. If Berlin rejects any extradition request, British officers are understood to be committed to ensuring that he faces charges in either Germany or Portugal. https://i.dailymail.com/1s/2026/05/0...7967304685.jpg https://i.dailymail.com/1s/2026/05/0...7967304690.jpg Next year marks 20 years since Madeleine McCann went missing. If the evidence is strong enough to extradite the prime suspect and try him here, that is what we would seek to do. Clearly, there are numerous hurdles but our priority at the moment is to amass the strongest evidence we can against that prime suspect. Prior to the completion of Brexit, Brueckner could have been extradited to the UK without any complications. The convicted rapist could stand trial abroad if British and German police hand over their evidence to investigators in Portugal, an EU state where his extradition could be more easily arranged. The news comes just hours after Kate and Gerry McCann, Maddys parents, joined a prayer vigil in Leicestershire on the 19th anniversary of her disappearance. https://i.dailymail.com/1s/2026/05/0...7925488645.jpg It marked the first time that the couple had been pictured with their twins Sean and Amelie in public as wellwishers gathered in their home town. |
