A man has been detained in Russia accused of drugging, raping and disappearing young women he lured to care for his son, nine.

Dmitry Artamoshin, 46, is accused of poisoning, beating and sexually abusing women he hired as nannies before trapping them inside his property in Zvezda, Moscow. Police are searching for two missing women who are feared murdered.

The suspects terrified son is now under the care of psychologists after he was forced to watch the rapes and beaten if he disobeyed, according to harrowing reports citing law enforcement. The child is said to be traumatised, suffering from PTSD, and covered in scars and injuries.

The boy was also ordered to drive his fathers car to go on alcohol runs for him, it is alleged. He was reportedly forced to drink bad tasting juice that caused him to pass out suspected to be the same drugged liquid Artamoshin gave to his female victims.

One survivor who escaped said she was between life and death three times. He initially made a pleasant impression, she told journalists.

The suspects wife who fled his home in March had been allegedly raped, drugged and beaten. When she escaped she went into hiding, but Artamoshin sought to find her and posted messages seeking her return. Police have appealed for any other women victims to come forward.

Artamoshin is said to have recruited the nannies through online advertisements. We had no idea what was happening. He just looked like a normal gardener with a school age child, a neighbour said.
