Mother of Three Found Dead After Arson Attack as Girl 13 Clutching Teddy Bear Charged With Murder

Three magistrates remanded the girl into secure youth accommodation and ordered her to appear before a judge at Northampton Crown Court on Wednesday afternoon.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, spoke only to confirm her name and date of birth when she appeared at Northampton Magistrates Court today.

Wearing a grey round necked sweater and jogging bottoms, the girl clutched a teddy bear with both hands as she was remanded in custody.

Friends of Ms Bednarczyk, who was originally from Poland, paid tribute today. One said: She was a lovely lady, we are all in shock, I saw her husband on Monday just after she had died and he just looked in shock. Marta and her husband have been in Wellingborough for a long time.

Ms Bednarczyk was a regular customer with local Polish shop Big Europe, which is a five minute walk from her home. A member of staff told MailOnline: She was a really nice lady and she'll be missed.

She came in often, usually to buy some cuts of meat. She came in with her husband mostly. Nobody knows why anyone would harm her. Its really sad.

Police and firefighters were scrambled to the property on Newcomen Road where they discovered the mothers body. She was declared dead at the scene at 3.29am.

A post-mortem examination at Leicester Royal Infirmary found she died as a result of a sharp force injury, Northamptonshire Police said.
