Al Fayed, Predator at Harrods...'WEB OF CORRUPTION' Mohamed Al Fayed Forced Staff to Take SEXUAL Health Tests & Harrods Covering Up Rape Claims Against Him
Multiple women, ALL OVER THE WORLD, have accused Mohamed al-Fayed, the billionaire former owner of Harrods, the luxury British department store, of rape and sexual assault.. Legal Team Includes Gloria Alfred 'We Were All So Scared. He Actively Cultivated Fear'.. BBC 20 SEP 2024 ![]() ![]() ![]() Mohamed Al Fayed was the owner of Londons luxury department store Harrods, one of the worlds most famous shops. The BBC has heard testimony from more than 37 female ex-employees who say the billionaire, who died last year aged 94, sexually assaulted or raped them. This is a story of power and control at the very top of British society. Many women said Mr. Fayed, who died in 2023 at age 94, had raped them, while others detailed alarming accounts of sexual assault and harassment while they were working at Harrods. ![]() Mr. Fayed, a tycoon with numerous properties and ships around the world, owned Harrods from 1985 to 2010. Later in his life, he became best known for the romance between his son, Dodi, and Diana, Princess of Wales, who both died in a 1997 car crash in Paris. In a BBC documentary released on Thursday called Al Fayed: Predator at Harrods, more than 37 female ex-employees presented harrowing accounts of abuse. The allegations span years and continents, with accusations in London, Paris, St. Tropez and Abu Dhabi. While the BBC investigation is not the first to accuse Mr. Fayed of unwanted sexual advances or harassment, it offers the clearest picture yet of abusive patterns of behavior and raises questions about how womens accounts were dismissed for so long. In a 1995 investigation in Vanity Fair by Maureen Orth, an employee said that Mr. Fayed regularly walked the store on the lookout for young, attractive women to work in his office and detailed other problematic behaviour. Mr. Fayed sued for libel but eventually dropped the case. In 2017 and 2018, Channel 4, a British broadcaster, spoke to several people who said Mr. Fayed had sexually harassed and groomed female employees. Some of the women interviewed spoke again in the BBC documentary. ![]() The current owners of the Harrods department store, in Knightsbridge, West London, said they were utterly appalled by the allegations. Mr. Fayed sold Harrods to Qatars sovereign wealth fund in 2010 for 1.5 billion pounds, about $2 billion at todays exchange rate. These were the actions of an individual who was intent on abusing his power wherever he operated and we condemn them in the strongest terms, the company said. We also acknowledge that during this time his victims were failed and for this we sincerely apologize. We are doing everything we can to fix this. ![]() The company said it was now a very different organization from the one Mr. Fayed had owned and controlled, and added that since 2023, when new information had come to light about allegations of sexual abuse It has been our priority to settle claims in the quickest way possible, avoiding lengthy legal proceedings for the women involved. That process is still available for any current or former Harrods employees, the company added. WORSE Than Weinstein - How Fayed Built Corrupt System of Enablers to Carry Out His Sexual Abuse
19 Cases Reported and NO Action Was Taken -The Met Said It Would Review Historic Complaints. BBC 27 SEP 2024 ![]() Police said that it has identified 19 allegations which resulted in crimes recorded involving Al Fayed and were reported to the Met between 2005 and 2023. The offences were alleged to have taken place between 1979 and 2013. Kate - not her real name - was 16 and had recently started working at Harrods when Mohamed Al Fayed summoned her to his apartment. Inside the Park Lane residence, "he tried to pressure me into having sex with him," Kate says. "He tried to be charming? but I kept saying no." Kate says the late Harrods owners mood changed and the threats started. "He became angry, the doors were locked and I couldn?t get out. He raped me." Kate did not feel ready to tell her story before the broadcast of the BBC documentary Al Fayed: Predator at Harrods. Now she says she wants people to understand what a monster Fayed was, and her testimony throws more light on the corrupt system at the heart of the company, which has since been sold to new owners. Like many of the women who say they were assaulted while working for the luxury department store, she recalls the doctors who carried out intimate medical examinations on staff. Others describe the personal assistants who summoned them to Fayed and the security guards who protected the apartment where he carried out many of the attacks. "There was a whole system to facilitate this," says Dean Armstrong KC, one of the barristers representing some of the alleged victims. How did the system operate? Soon after she began working at Harrods, Kate says Fayed asked her inappropriate questions about whether she had a boyfriend or was sexually active. She cannot remember her response, but says Fayed had other ways of finding out the answers he wanted. "It was organised for me to see Dr Ann Coxon of Harley Street for a company medical," Kate says. "It was sold to me as a perk of working in the chairmans office." She says Dr Coxon asked to do an internal examination and to test for sexually transmitted infections, including HIV. "I explained that I hadnt become sexually active yet, and therefore it was unnecessary," she says, adding that her concerns were brushed off. ![]() https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HllMwluFpEg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nF5RT3ev0QE |

WORSE Than Weinstein- 65 More Women Tell BBC of Sexual Abuse by Al Fayed
Met Police investigate 40 new allegations to Harrods owner Mohamed al Fayed BBC 11 OCT 2024 ![]() Sheenagh, pictured in 1975 before she moved to Dubai, worked in a bank where Al Fayed was a customer One of the 65 women, Sheenagh waived her anonymity to recount Mohamed Al Fayeds abuse ![]() A further 65 women have contacted the BBC saying they were abused by Mohamed Al Fayed, with allegations stretching far beyond Harrods and as far back as 1977. Their accounts include new details of sexual harassment, sexual assault and rape, sent to the BBC in the weeks since the documentary Al Fayed: Predator at Harrods and a podcast were broadcast. They suggest Al Fayed, who died last year, used a broader range of abuse tactics and also targeted women employed outside his businesses. Several of the women interviewed by the BBC allege they were recruited by Al Fayed under false pretences into roles on the billionaire?s domestic staff and were then sexually exploited by him - including at his mansion in Oxted. In the earliest accusation of abuse which the BBC has heard, a woman says she was assaulted by Al Fayed in Dubai in 1977, eight years before his purchase of Harrods helped him become a household name in the UK. She describes Al Fayed personally stalking and threatening her. Women who worked at Harrods say he later carried out similar intimidation tactics through a team of security staff. Of the 65 women who contacted the BBC to share their accounts of abuse, 37 of these say they had worked at Harrods. In response to the BBC's inquiries, Harrods told us: ?Since the airing of the documentary, so far there are 200+ individuals who are now in the Harrods process to settle claims directly with the business." One woman said she was working at a London flower shop in the early 1980s, when she was spotted by one of Al Fayed's team. Then aged 21, she says she was flown to the Paris Ritz for a purported job interview, where Al Fayed sexually assaulted her. A former BBC make-up artist also said she was sexually assaulted by Al Fayed when she was working on an episode of the Clothes Show in 1989, in which the billionaire was interviewed at Villa Windsor, his home in Paris. Oxted Mansion: ?I Was Kept a Prisoner? Margot, whose name we have changed, was 19 when she responded to a job advertisement in The Lady magazine in 1985, for a position as a nanny and governess in Surrey. She submitted her application and a photo as requested. Having worked as a nanny before, she remembers finding it odd that she was asked at the end of her interview "if I had a boyfriend or if I?ve ever had a boyfriend". "I said no?[The interviewer] looked relieved about it,? she told the BBC. It was not until she was offered the job that she was told the role was with Al Fayed and his family, at their Barrow Green Court mansion in Oxted. Her mother encouraged her to try a one-month trial. ?I remember being driven in a chauffeured limousine through the incredibly impressive entrance gates to Barrow Green Court and the long driveway up to a massive brick house,? she says. Inside, Margot says she was shown to a small, dimly lit room - which had a single bed, a desk and an internal telephone. She soon learned to fear the sound of it ringing and Al Fayed summoning her. Expecting to see the children, she would arrive to find him alone. This is when she says the repeated sexual assaults started. ?The job just didn?t exist. He didn?t need a nanny. He didn?t want a nanny,? she told the BBC. For five days, Margot says she only saw the children twice and was not allowed to interact with them. Instead each time she was requested by Al Fayed, she says she was sexually assaulted by him - in different locations on the estate, including the indoor pool, gardens and study. She felt trapped. ?Once you get in the house, you can?t get out. You have to go down a long driveway and through big gates at the bottom. He?s got to give permission for the gates to open,? Margot told the BBC. In the early hours one morning, she says Al Fayed came into her room, got into her bed, pressed her against the wall, and raped her vaginally and anally. ![]() Margot says she was not allowed to leave Al Fayeds Surrey mansion After he left her room, she immediately packed her case and told Al Fayed later that day that she wanted to leave and did not understand why she was there. But he refused and told her the job description would ?become much clearer with time?. ![]() Al Fayed made some of his early fortune in construction projects in Dubai, including its harbour https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O44BR-kYC8k https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gn0gkinDrCM |
