Man held without bond after chemical pipe bomb explodes on Putnam County deputy during traffic stop

This is the moment a homemade pipe bomb exploded during a traffic stop. Police body cam shows the ‘poison’ bomb going off as an officer searches the pickup truck of Charles Legault, who was pulled over for using a licence plate not assigned to his vehicle.
Video shows an officer questioning Legault about the plate. The cop then starts searching his truck, and uncovers a handgun. He then finds 20 rounds of ammo and an unregistered silencer. But things escalate when the officer uncovers a PVC pipe contraption.
He places the device on the front seat of the truck during the search. Without warning the pipe explodes and showers him with white powder. The officer was taken to the hospital but luckily escaped uninjured.
Further searches of the truck uncovered 30 grams of meth. Legault is reported to have had two handguns, 20 rounds of ammunition, methamphetamine, and an unregistered gun silencer when he was searched.
Legualt was arrested and is now facing multiple charges, including aggravated battery on a police officer, drug and firearms offences
