A mum has been jailed for life for murdering her three-year-old son following a campaign of unspeakable abuse.

Evil Christina Robinson has been sentenced for killing little Dwelaniyah after she violently shook him to death at home in Durham in 2022.
The 30-year-old had begged jurors at Newcastle crown court not to convict her as she represented herself at trial in March. Today she was told she must serve a minimum of 25 years.
But her pleas fell on unsympathetic ears as they found her guilty of the charge, with a judge putting her behind bars on Friday. She was also sentenced for four child cruelty charges after the court heard appalling details of Dwelaniyah's treatment in the weeks before.
The youngster was scalded with boiling water, leaving horrific burns, and beat him with a bamboo cane. Robinson, a member of the Black Hebrew Israelite religion, told the court she was following advice from Bible scripture on using a rod for the “correction” of children.
Despite Dwelaniyah's horrendous injuries, Robinson didn't seek out medical help. She went on to cause him a fatal brain injury on November 5, 2022, and waited more than 20 minutes to call 999. In that period, she called her husband, who was 240 miles away serving in the RAF at the time, then Googled how to resuscitate a child.
When paramedics and police did arrive, Robinson told the officer lies and appeared calm as medics desperately tried to revive her son. Despite having probably died at the house, Dwelaniyah was rushed to hospital for further attempts to resuscitate him, but was tragically declared dead.
Post-mortem tests revealed a catalogue of horrific injuries inflicted in the days before his death. Richard Wright KC, prosecuting, said: "In other words, somebody had been deliberately hurting this little boy and had been doing so over a period of time.
"That person was his mother, the defendant Christina Robinson." In his closing speech, Mr Wright told the court: "He was subjected to a campaign of violence and cruelty by his mother for petty wrongs."
She was convicted in March but Mr Justice Garnham delayed sentencing to allow Robinson time to seek legal representation after she parted with her team just before the end of the trial.
Robinson was also convicted of child neglect by leaving Dwelaniyah at home while she pursued an affair behind her husband's back. During her sentencing, Robinson was asked to make submissions on her own behalf, as she was representing herself. She continued to deny the offences and said: “I pray for the day when justice is served”.
She added: “I didn’t kill my child in any way, however the prosecution chooses to say it, whichever way anyone wants to imagine it. I will forever stand by it.”

Christina Robinson, 30, subjected Dwelaniyah to "extreme cruelty" in the weeks before his death in November 2022.
She denied killing or injuring her son, who had suffered extensive and excruciating burns to his bottom half, but admitted caning him in accordance with her religious beliefs.
Dwelaniyah, who had more than 60 injuries at the time of his death, was regularly and "violently" punished by his mother, including being forced into a bath of scalding hot water 18 days before he died.
Robinson, of Ushaw Moor near Durham but originally from Tamworth, Staffordshire, told jurors she was following the teachings of her religion, the Black Hebrew Israelites, which preached punishing children.
She was found guilty of murder and child cruelty after a trial at Newcastle Crown Court.
The judge, Mr Justice Garnham, jailed her for life with a minimum term of 25 years.
He said: "What must have gone through the mind of this little boy being beaten with a cane by his mother despite these terrible burns does not bear thinking about."
