MANHUNT For Dangerous Migrant Who Doused Mother and Two Children With Chemical Substance Attacker

London Acid Attack: BRUTAL THUG Targets Mother And Her Two Children Leaving Her Screaming 'My Eyes' -Chemical Attack Suspect Was GRANTED Asylum AFTER Sex Offence

Manhunt continues after NINE people were hurt including hero passers-by and police - video shows man fleeing scene after attack

MailOnline 2 FEB 2024

The disturbing footage shows a man running towards the driver's door and getting inside before driving the white car into a woman as members of the public rush to her aid

The suspect in the alkaline attack in Clapham, south London, has been named as 35-year-old Abdul Ezedi

WICKED' attacker hospitalises woman, children AND police officers in London suspected 'acid attack'

A mother screamed 'my eyes' after she and her two children were injured in a suspected acid attack before the thug fled the scene, witnesses say.

The three victims were among nine people injured, with eight needing hospital treatment, after the horror incident in south London, police said. Those hurt included hero passers-by who rushed to the family's aid and police officers responding to the attack.

Officers have launched an investigation after a suspected corrosive substance was thrown at the trio in Lessar Avenue, Clapham South.

And the Met Police are now engaging in a manhunt, using a helicopter in their pursuit of the attacker. Forensics teams at the scene could be seen inspecting a coffee cup which may have been used to throw the acid.

A witness who said he had tried to clean the chemical from the womans' face told Sky News: 'It was horrific. First a man grabbed his kid - a girl aged two or three from a white car. He violently threw her onto the floor - twice! It was the worst thing I've ever seen.

'The man then threw something at the woman. She was screaming, 'my eyes! My eyes!'

Dramatic CCTV footage from last night - obtained exclusively by MailOnline - shows a man running along a road near to where the attack took place. He is seen briefly losing his footing on a speed bump before tripping on a curb and falling down.

The man, who is wearing a black jacket and a light-coloured t-shirt, then gets up and continues running. The CCTV was filmed from a nearby house and has has been shared with the Met.

It comes as a hotel near to where the attack took place confirmed the woman had been staying there. The South Belvedere Hotel said in a statement that it had 'provided assistance to the guests affected'. A local woman said the hotel is home to refugees.

This is What it Feels Like to Be Attacked With Acid

Andreas had life-changing injuries

Andreas, before the acid attack, and his wife Pia on their wedding day

It was 4pm on an ordinary weekday afternoon in 2014. I was at home in Truro, Cornwall, when the doorbell rang. I was 29 and ran a property company and events business, so was used to receiving a stream of deliveries.

I answered the door expecting a courier with a parcel. Instead a stranger was on the doorstep. He shouted 'this is for you mate', then threw a pint of sulphuric acid into my face.

I've been asked countless times what having acid poured over me felt like. But I still can't find the words to adequately describe it because it was such a unique sensation. The pain was agonising, unlike anything I've experienced before or since: like a burning, but somehow different than if a flame was involved.

It turned out I wasn't his intended victim – he'd knocked on the wrong door.

The man I now know to be David Phillips, a painter and decorator from Hastings, drove off in a van. He was later caught.

I had life-changing injuries and remained at risk of imminent death for another month.

And yet, my attacker already walks free having been released halfway through his 16-year sentence for grievous bodily harm with intent. In fact, after just five and a half years he was moved to an open prison near his family

Armed Police Raid Addresses in Search For Suspect in Clapham Chemical Attack

Moment armed police raid pizza takeaway where chemical attack suspect Abdul Ezedi worked after revealing possible motive

MailOnline 9 FEB 2024

Armed police have raided a pizza takeaway where chemical attack suspect Abdul Ezedi worked as the manhunt for the fugitive continues.

A major hunt is underway for Ezedi, 35, who is accused of pouring a strong alkali on his ex-partner and injuring her two young children, aged three and eight, in an attack in Clapham, south London last Wednesday.

Two warrants were executed at properties associated with Ezedi in Newcastle this morning, including his place of work, the Metropolitan Police confirmed.

Officers were seen outside Best Bite pizza shop in Forest Hall Road, Newcastle.

Reports said a battering ram was used to gain access to an upstairs flat before officers spent a couple of hours searching the flat and takeaway. Detectives were seen removing some items in evidence bags including the hard drive from the shop's CCTV.

The takeaway manager told the Sun: 'They came and searched and found nothing.'

No arrests have been made and inquiries and searches continue. The force said it was a joint operation with Northumbria Police.

This update comes as the search for fugitive Ezedi entered its second week with police revealing the motive behind the 'brutal' attack appears to be the breakdown of a relationship.

Close friends have also said the woman left severely injured after being doused with a corrosive chemical is a devoted mother who only wanted a safe home for her children.

Friends have released an edited image of a mother and her daughters who were hurt.

The 31-year-old may lose the sight in her right eye and remains sedated in hospital eight days on from the attack.

In a statement, close friends of the victim who have launched a fundraiser for the family said: 'Our friend is first and foremost a devoted and loving mother.

'Her children are her life. She is generous to a fault and a wonderful cook and host.

'All she has ever wanted is a safe home for her and her beautiful, kind little girls.'

The comments come after the manager of Best Bite Pizza and Grill House in Forest Hall Road said Ezedi worked there for 'a couple of weeks' about 18 months ago.

The manager said Ezedi came into the takeaway looking for work and showed his 'work permit'.

He did some training in the kitchen and leafleting but there was no job available for him.

The manager, who asked not to be named, said: 'He was just a normal guy. It was a big shock to see him on the news.

'I remembered his name and that he showed his visa or work permit. He was looking for a job but wasn't here for long.

'We had no problems with him and I had no idea he was a sex offender.'

Meanwhile a major manhunt is underway for the suspect, with the last confirmed sighting at around 11pm on Wednesday January 31, a few hours after the attack, on Vauxhall Bridge Road in central London.

Body of Abdul Ezedi Found DEAD in River Thames

Body of man suspected of chemically attacking former partner pulled out of river, London police say

MailOnline 20 FEB 2024

Police “strongly believe” they have recovered the body of alkali attack suspect Abdul Ezedi from the River Thames.

At around 4pm on Monday the crew of a passing boat reported they had seen a body in the water near Tower Bridge at Tower Pier. The body was recovered by the Metropolitan Police’s Marine Policing Unit and has been viewed by detectives working on the investigation.

The Metropolitan Police said the crew of a passing boat reported seeing a body in the water near the Tower of London on Monday afternoon. Detectives inspected the body after it was recovered by the Met´s Marine Policing Unit and concluded it was that of 35-year-old Abdul Ezedi.

Three weeks ago, police launched a nationwide manhunt for Ezedi, 35, after the attack in the Clapham area of south London on Jan. 31 that involved a strong alkali. Images of Ezedi captured after the attack revealed he suffered significant injuries to the right side of his face.

On Feb. 9, the Met said they thought Ezedi had probably "gone into the water" having watched closed-circuit television images.

"Based on the distinctive clothing he was wearing at the time of the attack and property found on his body, we strongly believe we have recovered the body of Ezedi," said Commander Jon Savell on Tuesday. He added that formal identification by visual means, or via fingerprints, was not possible, given the time the body remained in water.

"We will work with the coroner on other ways to complete formal identification, such as DNA testing and dental records," Savell said. "That may take some time."
