The suspect, identified as Sebastián, allegedly murdered Julieta, 26, in the municipality of Quiroga on Saturday, the Michoacán state prosecutor’s office said.

Bystanders saw Sebastián walking with Julieta’s head near a government-run clinic and called the police.

Michoacán State Police agents found the teenager steps away from the clinic and arrested him without incident and confiscated a rifle that he was carrying.

Cops in the western Mexican state of Michoacán found the head of 29-year-old Julieta near a gas station Saturday after her 19-year-old brother, Sebastián, was seen walking with it. Authorities arrested Sebastián near a clinic and confiscated a rifle.

As of Monday, authorities had not said why Sebastián murdered his sister and if any other people were involved.
