A man was jailed for having sex with his wife - who is also his daughter....

According to US media reports, Travis Fieldgrove freely admitted he had been having sex with a woman who was both his wife and his daughter. He has been convicted on incest charges and put behind bars for two years after striking up the relationship with his long-lost daughter, who had managed to track him down.

The 40-year-old was ordered to have no contact with Samantha Kershner, 21, the Omaha Herald reports. The pair were were married on October 1 in Hastings, Nebraska. Both sides agree that incest was committed, a fact proven by DNA tests. According to a court affidavit, Grand Island police officers spoke to Fieldgrove and Kershner in September after receiving a tip about their relationship and allegations of incest.

Both admitted that they were having both a romantic and sexual relationship. Kershner told police how about three years ago she had informed her mother she wanted to know who her father was and meet him. Her mother identified Fieldgrove as the father and arranged a meeting.

For the next three years, Fieldgrove and Kershner told police, they had a father-daughter relationship. Both declined to tell officers how the relationship developed from parental to sexual, but admitted they started having sex together. Defense attorney Jeff Loeffler said Fieldgrove is embarrassed by the offence and wishes that it had never happened.

In addition, Fieldgrove suffered a brain injury and is not a “high-functioning” person, Loeffler said.One shocking report said Kershner had previously told police that she competed with her half sister over who could sleep with her father first.

Fieldgrove initially was charged with committing incest, a felony.

But under a plea agreement, he pleaded no
contest in April to an attempt charge, the paper reports. Under the plea agreement, the prosecutor and public defender made a joint recommendation that Fieldgrove be sentenced to two years in jail. Judge Young also added 12 months of post-release supervision.
