A dad whose incestuous relations with his daughter lead to her giving birth to seven babies killed the infants by dashing them into a pond, it has emerged.

The man has admitted to murdering of the seven newborns after he claimed he was being advised by a shaman to have sex with his daughter over an 11-year period to gain wealth.

The horror story emerged on June 15 when workers clearing a pond in Central Java, Indonesia, found five little skeletons.

The man, who has been pictured but identified only as 57-year-old man, R, has been interrogated by police.

During the interrogation, he admitted to years of abuse, confessing to having sex with his daughter, who is now 25, since she was a 14.

Search teams scoured a hillside where it's thought the babies were killed

He claimed that while working in construction in 2011, he met a shaman who told him to abuse the girl in exchange for wealth.

Over the 11 years, seven babies were born, each of whom were suffocated to death before the monster buried them at the pond site, according to The Straits Times.

The shaman told him he would have to have sex with her seven times for his wishes to come true - but 11 years later he's still poor, local media reported.

The mans' daughter, who police have named only as E, is said to be the child of his third wife.

Speaking to the media, the local police chief Agus Supriadi Siswanto reportedly said: "The mother can't do much because the suspect had threatened her to keep quiet or else she will be killed."

The mother was said to have been aware of the abuse, and possibly even complicit, after having helped her give birth each time.

In photos of the search, teams are seen scouring a patch of hillside where the babies are thought to have been buried.
The remains of two of the babies are still missing, with cops continuing to search the area with scent dogs.
