Windsor Castle Reveals its Christmas Splendour

It's in St George's Hall, one of the biggest and most impressive state rooms at Windsor Castle, a palace which has had a royal presence since William the Conqueror.

It's a special time, not only is there a new King but 30 years ago this magnificent hall was almost completely devastated by a fire with other parts of the castle. Now the royal household is keen to show the building back in all its glory ready for Christmas.

Andrew Walters, 32, has been spreading holiday cheer across Stillington, near Stockton for five years with his extravagant decorations, reports Teesside Live.

With help from businesses across Teesside, he has spent the last five weeks covering his house top to bottom with over 10,000 LED lights - but claims his energy bill only comes in at only £4.50 a night thanks to the energy-saving bulbs.

Over the last three Christmases he has raised hundreds of pounds for vital charities such as Cash for Kids after receiving a rapturous response from local people.
