Controversial online influencer Andrew Tate has been detained in Romania as part of a human trafficking and rape investigation.

Mr Tate - who was detained alongside his brother Tristan - had his house raided in the capital, Bucharest.
A lawyer for the brothers confirmed their detention, Reuters said.
The former kickboxer rose to fame in 2016 when he was removed from British TV show Big Brother over a video which appeared to show him attacking a woman.
He went on to gain notoriety online, with Twitter banning him for saying women should "bear responsibility" for being sexually assaulted. He has since been reinstated.
"The four suspects ... appear to have created an organised crime group with the purpose of recruiting, housing and exploiting women by forcing them to create pornographic content meant to be seen on specialised websites for a cost," prosecutors said, according to the Reuters news agency.
The brothers have been under investigation since April alongside two Romanian nationals.
Video circulated widely on social media appears to show Mr Tate and his brother being led away from a luxury villa.
Romania's Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) issued a statement, but did not name the Tate brothers, stating that two British citizens and two Romanian citizens were suspected of being part of a criminal group focused on human trafficking.
It also released a video of the raid, showing guns, knives, and money on display in one room.
Mr Tate moved to Romania five years ago.
Who is Andrew Tate, the former reality TV star turned influencer with "radical" views?
Prior to gaining worldwide notoriety, Mr Tate - a British citizen who was born in the US - fought professionally as a kickboxer and won world titles.
In 2016, he entered the Big Brother house but was soon removed after a video was circulated, which appeared to show him hitting a woman with a belt.
At the time of his expulsion from the show, Mr Tate said the video had been edited, calling it "a total lie trying to make me look bad".
He went on to gain notoriety online, with Twitter banning him for saying women should "bear responsibility" for being sexually assaulted.
Mr Tate has been banned from other social media platforms like YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, with TikTok also removing him, saying "misogyny is a hateful ideology that is not tolerated".
His posts on other online sites promote misogyny and target women and have millions of views, with the BBC's disinformation and social media correspondent Marianna Spring saying earlier this year his content had "raised concerns about the real-world effect it could have".
Alongside former US president Donald Trump, he has recently been allowed back onto Twitter following Elon Musk's takeover.
On Wednesday, Mr Tate became embroiled in a war of words on Twitter with climate activist Greta Thunberg.

Romanian police have seized a fleet of luxury cars from the compound of former kickboxing champion and influencer Andrew Tate.
Mr Tate was detained alongside his brother Tristan last month as part of an investigation into allegations of human trafficking and rape, which they deny.
Vehicles including a Ferrari and a Mercedes were seen being carried away as investigators expand their search for evidence in the case.

Andrew Tate's head of security has given a dismissive account of the women who surrounded the controversial influencer, in spite of a police investigation into claims of sexual assault and exploitation against him. Tate denies all the allegations.
In an exclusive broadcast interview with the BBC, Bogdan Stancu said more than 100 women had passed through Mr Tate's compound in Bucharest, since he began work there two years ago.
The former police intelligence officer said he was sometimes asked to physically remove women from the Tate house for being "too drunk" or "making problems", but that no force was ever used.
Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan are currently in 30-day custody in Romania, while police investigate allegations of trafficking and rape.
The case has put a spotlight on the attitudes inside their Bucharest home, and the way women were treated there.
Mr Stancu says his boss's public persona is the opposite of his real character. But his own views about the models, girlfriends and other women in the Tate house are revealing.
Most of the women who spent time with the brothers in their compound were under 25, he said, and their expenses were paid for by Andrew Tate.
"Some of the girls misunderstood the reality and believed [they would] be his next wife," Mr Stancu told me. "When they realised the reality, it's easy to transform from a friend into an enemy, and make a statement to the police."
Bogdan Stancu's lack of faith in the women accusing Andrew Tate is in sharp contrast to the loyalty he feels for his employer.
"I never doubt Andrew," he told me.
And, as one of the millionaire's most senior staff, his explanation for doubting the testimony of Mr Tate's accusers is equally striking.
"They're young and stupid," he said.
But, he added, it was right that the police investigated these serious allegations, and that if the Tate brothers were ultimately charged and convicted, they must pay for their crimes.
He also offered a glimpse into Andrew Tate's private anxieties, saying his boss believed "somebody wanted to hurt him".
It wasn't clear where Mr Tate believed the threat was coming from, he said.
Asked whether these concerns amounted to paranoia, the security chief said, "I would not say 'paranoid' but something similar maybe. He wanted to have a normal life and couldn't - maybe it's normal to be a little bit more paranoid."
Mr Stancu said the social media star could also be impulsive while travelling abroad, changing his schedule at the drop of a hat, and flying to different destinations at a moment's notice.
"[The security team] stayed inside the hotel with the baggage locked and without changing our clothes," he said, "because we knew anything could happen."
And he also confirmed that both Mr Tate and his brother Tristan had several children living in Romania, saying they sometimes went to visit them.
Investigators have been widening their inquiries over the past week.
On Saturday, they removed Mr Tate's fleet of luxury cars - the sight of his shiny dove-grey Porsche perched on the battered frame of a police tow-truck captured his shift in fortunes, from a millionaire internet personality to a key suspect in a human trafficking case.

Controversial social media influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan are to be moved from custody to house arrest with immediate effect, a Romanian judge has ruled.
The ruling by the Court of Appeal in Bucharest replaces the latest period of custody, which was to end on 29 April.
Two associates, Georgiana Naghel and Luana Radu, are also being released.
All four have been ordered to stay in the buildings where they live, unless they have judicial permission to leave.
A spokeswoman for the Tate brothers told the BBC the brothers were "ecstatic".
The brothers have been detained since December and are being investigated on allegations of rape, people trafficking and forming an organised crime group. Both have denied wrongdoing.
Lawyers for Mr Tate have argued that keeping him in preventative custody is unnecessarily harsh, when other judicial options such as house arrest are available.
Leaked court documents, seen by the BBC, outlined testimony from alleged victims claiming to be forced to earn €10,000 (£8,800) a month on social media platforms, under the alleged threat of physical violence.
Court papers also described debts being used as "a form of psychological coercion".
Since investigations began last April, six women have been identified by prosecutors as victims.
However, no charges have yet been brought against the brothers or the two Romanian associates who were arrested alongside them.

Social media personality Andrew Tate has been charged with rape, human trafficking and forming a criminal gang to exploit women, Romanian prosecutors said.
Tate and his brother Tristan, both dual UK-US nationals, and two Romanian nationals have been under house arrest for months during a police investigation.
According to a translation of the statement, the prosecutors said there were seven female alleged victims, including some who were “misled” by “false claims of marriage and love”.
It said the defendants formed an organised crime group in early 2021 to commit human trafficking in Romania, the UK, the US and other countries.

The alleged victims were later taken to buildings in Ilfov county in Romania where they were intimidated, placed under constant surveillance and control and forced into debt, the statement said.
It is said the defendants then forced them to take part in pornography which was later shared on social media.
One defendant raped an alleged victim twice in March 2022, according to the statement.
A number of campaign groups have claimed Tate’s views make him a danger to young men and boys who see his content online.
Tate, who has lived in Romania since 2017, was previously banned from various social media platforms.
The former kickboxer has previously denied all allegations of abuse and trafficking.
A file has been sent to a court in Bucharest, according to the prosecutors.
It is understood a trial will not begin immediately and a judge will have up to 60 days to assess the file.

The pair can move freely around the capital, Bucharest, and the surrounding Ilfov district where they live.
They must report to police when ordered to, and inform them of any change of address.
They are also banned from contacting the two Romanian associates accused alongside them, the witnesses, or the alleged victims or their families.
Breaking these rules could lead to them returning to house arrest, or preventative detention.
A judge will check compliance with the conditions for the next 60 days.
"We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Romanian judicial system for their fair consideration," a spokesperson for the brothers said in a statement after the ruling.
"This positive outcome gives us confidence that more favourable developments are on the horizon."
Tate, a Muslim convert, also tweeted in response to the ruling, condemning charges that were "based on nothing" and which a judge had deemed "weak and circumstantial".
The brothers were first arrested at their home in December and moved to house arrest three months later.
The indictment says they and two female Romanian associates formed an organised criminal group in 2021 to commit human trafficking in Romania, but also in other countries including the US and the UK.

Details of graphic evidence compiled by Romanian prosecutors, alleging that Andrew Tate coerced women into sexual acts, have been seen by the BBC.

The case file summary, containing hundreds of pages of testimony and transcripts, includes an allegation of sexual violence which is said to have left one woman with eye and breast injuries.
And in what prosecutors say are transcribed audio messages, Mr Tate's brother Tristan appears to say that he will "slave these bitches".
Both men are facing trial in Romania for human trafficking and forming an organised criminal group with two other defendants.
Andrew Tate is also facing a charge of rape.
They deny all the charges against them. Some of the messages may originally have been written or recorded in English, then translated into Romanian by prosecutors and re-translated back into English by the BBC.
The BBC cannot verify whether the messages have been accurately transcribed or whether they were sent by the defendants as claimed, because the original evidence is not included in the summary document.
The 300 pages of reported testimony and evidence seen by the BBC provide a rare glimpse inside the pre-trial prosecution case against Andrew Tate, whose controversial views and online influence have sparked warnings from teachers, police and rights groups.
Included in the summary is a reproduced text message in which Mr Tate appears to claim leadership of the adult content business that prosecutors say was a human trafficking ring.
Mental Coercion
In June, Romania's Organised Crime Unit formally charged the Tate brothers, along with two Romanian women, with human trafficking and forming an organised crime group.
Attending court for the indictment, Andrew Tate said they were "not the first affluent men to be unfairly attacked" and that he looked forward to being found innocent.
Earlier this summer, Romanian prosecutors said in a statement that the Tate brothers had recruited their alleged victims by misleading them about their romantic intentions, before transporting the women to a house on the outskirts of Bucharest - where they were sexually exploited by the group, and forced to produce pornographic content through physical violence and mental coercion.
The Tates' lawyers are expected to challenge the prosecution evidence in a pre-trial hearing later this month, and some of the material referred to in the case file seen by the BBC could be ruled inadmissible.
Even if the material is found to be admissible, the defendants may challenge it during trial.
The defendants may dispute that they made these statements and contest their accuracy or context. They may also contest whether they meet the required legal standard for any offence being committed.
The file seen by the BBC includes testimony from what prosecutors say are several women who lived in a building near the Tates' house on the outskirts of Bucharest. The women allege that income from their online pornographic content was controlled by the defendants, along with some accounts and passwords.
'Slave These Bitches'
Prosecutors say access to the money made on the OnlyFans site was controlled by Georgiana Naghel, one of the Tates' two Romanian co-defendants.
She would pay the women in the OnlyFans videos sums of money each month without revealing the total income they had earned, prosecutors allege.
On content created for the TikTok platform, they say the defendants took 50% of the income - and sometimes more.
Witnesses also claim they were forced to produce specific content to a strict schedule, under the threat of verbal and physical abuse.
The case file refers to threats to "break your teeth" or "end up in the morgue" in transcribed text messages, said to be from Ms Naghel.
She is also facing a charge of physically assaulting one victim - which she denies.
Fines of about 10% were imposed by the defendants on the women performing online for even small infractions - such as staying too long on a break, crying while live online, or wiping their nose while live, one witness says.
This apparently resulted in one of the women owing about €4,000 (£3,412) in debts.
A lawyer for the two female defendants said they vehemently denied the allegations which were not supported by any evidence, and were waiting for the court to decide their innocence.
The prosecutors' file also contains what is claimed to be transcriptions of audio messages from 2020 - in which Tristan Tate appears to say he doesn't want the women on sites like PornHub and OnlyFans to have access to their accounts:
"I don't want them to have the passwords, I don't want them to have anything."
And:
"I don't want to tell them that they have OnlyFans, I want that money to be used by me and you, screw them…"
Another part of the transcript reads:
"Mainly I'm going to slave these bitches […] I'm going to make them work even more hours and hours and hours.. I work these bitches like slaves. […] SLAVE work. Minimum 10 or 12 hours a day."
The Tate brothers, and some of the women working for them, previously told investigators that the allegations are the result of jealousy.
And two of the women, classed as victims by prosecutors, say they did not share their income with anyone. Both women have publicly emphasised their close personal ties to the men, and support for them.
Prosecutors will also seek to build up a picture of controlling behaviour and heavy restrictions - largely through witness testimony and messages which they claim were exchanged between the various parties.
This includes an alleged ban on newly arrived women leaving the house without permission, and needing to be accompanied by one of the Tates' trusted associates.
They allege that after recruitment, women were placed under the supervision of the two female defendants, Ms Naghel and Luana Radu.
The prosecutors highlight alleged text exchanges between Tristan Tate and Ms Naghel about the management of the business.
But significantly, the files seen by the BBC contain a transcript of what is said to be a text message from one alleged victim to Andrew Tate last year, in which she asks if he's "the one running the girl business/OnlyFans and TikTok".
"Tristan and G are," Andrew appears to respond.
"But I lead them."
We asked the Tates for a response to these claims. A spokeswoman said in a statement that they vehemently denied the serious allegations against them. She accused the BBC of a lack of impartiality, saying there was "substantial evidence pointing to their innocence", without giving any detail, or addressing the specific allegations raised.
'I can't do it without drinking'
In other transcribed messages that prosecutors say took place between this alleged victim and Andrew Tate over several weeks, Mr Tate appears to mix talk of love and marriage with what seem to be orders, threats, references to rape, or insults such as "bitch" or "whore".
According to the file, the alleged victim appears to ask him not to use those terms.
In response to a demand for group sex, the file says, she tells Andrew Tate, "I will not have sex with girls. I'm not going to do this." And then, "Baby, I gotta drink for this. I can't do it without drinking."
Mr Tate is alleged to have responded, "Don't be boring [...] I want to see that you submit to me [...] Shut up you whore, you will do as I say."
This is not the only allegation of abuse. The case file summary also contains detailed witness accounts of Mr Tate's alleged violence towards women.
One alleged rape victim says that, during one incident, he told her to take off her clothes while keeping her shoes on, then "slapped her across the face".
She says she was unable to reject Mr Tate because he would hold her head during sex, telling her he no longer wanted to receive negative messages from her, and threatening to get her pregnant and lock her in a house.
According to the prosecution case, the alleged victim "was crying and scared because she thought [Andrew Tate] was capable of anything".
The two individuals were reportedly alone in the room at the time, the file says, but prosecutors are seeking to place this testimony in the context of the defendant's reported wider behaviour and history.

Another woman told investigators that Andrew Tate's violence during sex was his way of "venting frustration" when she didn't do what he told her to do.
Silvia Tabusca - an expert in human trafficking cases - told the BBC that, in order to prove their case, prosecutors would need to show that the defendants misled their alleged victims about their motivation for the relationship. Even if the women themselves consented, she said, trafficking could still take place.
In a BBC interview earlier this year, Andrew Tate strongly denied exploiting or manipulating any women, saying that he had "never hurt anybody" and that the case against him was "completely and utterly fabricated".
He has also said repeatedly that the media and others take selected comments of his out of context and put them together in a way that doesn't reflect reality.
Rare Cars, Jewellery and Property
The file also refers to financial transfers, including £4m allegedly transferred by Andrew Tate into an online bank account, under the heading "Rev Only Fans". The BBC has not seen details of the source of that income.
In their report, prosecutors allege that the Tate brothers do not appear to have income "from lawful activities", but that from 2018 onwards they acquired "numerous properties", "15 of the rarest and most expensive cars", estimated to be worth more than £3m, as well as jewellery and $400,000 in cryptocurrency.
Subscriptions to their online groups, the War Room and Hustler's University, appear to bring the brothers around $5m a month in membership fees, prosecutors say.
Romania is preparing to try this case in the glare of an international spotlight. Its Organised Crime Unit confirmed in a statement earlier this year that it was continuing to investigate possible crimes of trafficking in minors and money-laundering connected to this case. As yet, no suspects have been formally identified.
The trial itself could take years to reach a verdict.
Prosecutors say Andrew Tate's video explanations of how to recruit, control and exploit women match the evidence they present.
But supporters praise his discipline and financial success.

Evidence that dozens of women were groomed into online sex work by members of influencer Andrew Tate's "War Room" group has been uncovered by the BBC.

The texts also appear to show the techniques used by War Room members to exploit possible victims.
Mr Tate denies any wrongdoing and says he is prepared to defend his innocence.
A statement issued by his press officer said the BBC's findings represent "another brazen attempt to present one-sided, unverified" allegations against him.
The 36-year-old former kickboxer has been charged in Romania with rape and human trafficking.
On 4 August he was released from house arrest pending his trial. Last week details of graphic evidence compiled by Romanian prosecutors were revealed by the BBC.
His brother Tristan and two associates also face charges. All have denied the allegations.
The BBC's latest investigation - outlined in the documentary Andrew Tate: The Man Who Groomed the World? - centres on 12,000 pages of encrypted Telegram messages sent by hundreds of War Room members.
However the BBC's access to the logs was limited to those sent over a period of 13 months - so the total number of women possibly targeted and exploited by the group, which was formed in 2019, could be much higher.
Mr Tate says the War Room - which costs $8,000 (£6,300) a year to join - is a network of powerful men and those who want to learn from them.
"The War Room promotes self-discipline, motivation and confidence building whilst giving members access to thousands of professionals from around the world who encourage personal responsibility and accountability, emphasising the importance of taking ownership of your choices and actions," the statement issued by Mr Tate reads.
However, the leaked online chats indicate the War Room teaches members through its so-called "PhD" course - the initials stand for "Pimpin' Hoes Degree" - how to groom women into sex work.
Members are instructed by some of the War Room leadership - known as "generals" - to romantically seduce, emotionally manipulate and socially isolate women before luring them into performing on webcams - often taking all or most of the money they make.
While most media attention around the organisation has focused on the Tate brothers, the BBC's investigation found that a self-proclaimed "wizard" who goes by the alias "Iggy Semmelweiss" appears to be the War Room's true leader and intellectual driving force.

Andrew Tate arrives in court in Romania for a preliminary hearing over evidence obtained against him in his human trafficking and rape case.
The former kickboxer and misogynistic social media influencer was also charged with forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women. Whilst his brother Tristan had previously been arrested alongside two women in the same case in Bucharest last December.
Him and his brother were charged on Tuesday 20 June and placed under house arrest while awaiting trial.
The brothers have vehemetly denied all allegations so far.

Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have been detained in Romania after European arrest warrants were issued by the UK, his representative has said.

The allegations, including sexual aggression, cover 2012 to 2015, his team said. The Tate brothers "categorically reject all charges", the statement said.
Romanian police said European arrest warrants for two men were issued by UK authorities for sexual offences on Monday.
The alleged offences also included exploiting people in Great Britain, the Romanian police statement said.
The two men were presented to the prosecutor attached to the Bucharest Court of Appeal, who ordered their detention for 24 hours, police said.
A representative for the controversial influencer said the court will make a decision on Tuesday morning as to whether to execute the warrant.
They described the arrest warrant as a "bewildering revival of decade-old accusations" leaving the brothers "dismayed and deeply troubled".
"They categorically reject all charges and express profound disappointment that such serious allegations are being resurrected without substantial new evidence," the statement said.
"They are fully committed to challenging these accusations with unwavering determination and resolve."
McCue Jury and Partners, the law firm representing four British women who have accused Mr Tate of sexual offences, said it wrote to British police as it was concerned Tate might try to leave Romania, where he is due to stand trial for rape and human trafficking.
"We wrote to the British police... to urge them to immediately seek a warrant for Tate's detention in Romania and extradition to the UK," the law firm said in a statement.
It added they were grateful British authorities had taken action.
In December, Andrew Tate, 37, and his brother Tristan, 35, who are dual UK-US nationals, were ordered by a Romanian court not to leave Romania after the brothers made a request to visit their mother in hospital in the UK.
The brothers are being investigated by Romanian authorities over separate allegations of rape, human trafficking and forming a criminal gang - charges they deny.
They are accused of exploiting women via an adult content business, which prosecutors allege operated as a criminal group.
Two female Romanian associates were also named alongside the brothers in an indictment published in June, and seven alleged victims were identified.
Mr Tate has repeatedly claimed Romanian prosecutors have no evidence against him and there is a conspiracy to silence him.
Andrew Tate is a self-described misogynist and was previously banned from social media platforms for expressing misogynistic views.

Social media influencer Andrew Tate will be extradited to the UK after a British police force secured a European arrest warrant for allegations of rape and human trafficking.
Bedfordshire Police said they are working with authorities in Romania as part of an investigation into the 37-year-old and his 35-year-old brother Tristan.
The pair were detained on Tuesday and appeared at the court of appeal in Bucharest where it was ruled they would be extradited following the conclusion of legal proceedings in Romania.

Police chiefs branded the crisis a “national emergency” after an official report found that more than a million violent crimes against women and children were recorded in the 12 months to March 2023, equivalent to almost 3,000 crimes every day in England and Wales.
The average age of suspects accused of the sexual abuse of girls is just 15, while the average age of their victims is just 13.
Child sexual abuse and exploitation offences increased more than five-fold between 2013 and 2022 from just over 20,000 to nearly 107,000, according to police analysis.
The report issued by the National Police Chiefs Council said: “Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) has reached epidemic levels in England and Wales, in terms of its scale, complexity and impact on victims.”
It found violent crimes against women and children had risen by 37 per cent in just four years. In total, two million women every year will be a victim of a violent crime, equivalent to one in 12 of all women. The report said its estimates were “cautious” and “as we know much crime goes unreported”.
Deputy Chief Constable Maggie Blyth, national lead for policing VAWG, described the influence on young boys online by the likes of Andrew Tate, a “toxic” misogynist with millions of followers online, as “quite terrifying”.
Tate is currently facing criminal charges in Romania for rape, human trafficking and sexual exploitation which he denies. He is also being sued in the civil courts in the UK.
Ms Blyth also disclosed that senior police officers tasked with combating violence against women and girls were in contact with teams working in counter-terrorism to examine the risk of young men being radicalised and how to prevent it.
Ms Blyth said: “We know that some of this is also linked to radicalisation of young people online, we know the influencers, Andrew Tate, the element of influencing of particularly boys, is quite terrifying and that’s something that both the leads for counterterrorism in the country and ourselves from a VAWG perspective are discussing.”

Controversial influencer Andrew Tate has released a bizarre mashup video claiming that he is being unfairly persecuted, after Romanian authorities launched a fresh raid amid new allegations of trafficking minors and sex with a minor.
One of the world's best-known influencers known for being a self-described misogynist, Andrew Tate has been accused of having formed an organised criminal network in early 2021 in Romania and Britain, along with his brother Tristan.
Romania's office for organised crime (DIICOT), said that four search warrants were executed, in connection with 'the crimes of forming an organised criminal group, trafficking in minors', 'sexual relations with a minor' and 'money laundering'.
Shocking images showed masked policemen making their way to the Tate residence carrying battering rams.
But just hours after the Tate brothers raided their home, Andrew Tate's account posted a more than six minute-long video, in which he claimed that the criminal proceedings were an attempt to discredit him.
The video was posted to X with the caption: 'The Matrix is real. And they have a tried and true playbook. Slander is their number one tool and the process is the punishment. But unfortunately for them, Good always wins in the end.'
The video is made up of a mix of previous clips in which they claim to be unfairly attacked by authorities from across the world, stock images of news media, footage from the 9/11 terrorist attack and seemingly stolen clips from movies including Russell Crowe's The Flood Begins and Tom Hanks' Saving Private Ryan.

The brothers, who are joint US and UK nationals but who lived near Bucharest, were arrested in 2022 on charges of human trafficking, sexual misconduct, money laundering and forming an organised crime group. They have denied any wrongdoing.
They also face charges including accusations of rape and human trafficking in the UK, and a court in Bucharest has ruled that they can be extradited to Britain once a final decision is reached in their case in Romania.
They had requested to leave Romania for the US to attend to family issues they wanted to resolve, sources told Romanian media. But their arrival in the US has sparked outrage from their alleged victims.
British women accusing Andrew Tate of rape of human trafficking said they are in disbelief and feel retraumatised by the news that the Romanian authorities have given into pressure from the Trump administration and allowed him to travel.
In a joint statement to MailOnline, the four British women added: We can only hope that the British authorities finally take action and do something about this terrifying unfolding situation to ensure he faces justice in the UK.
The Tates left Romania at around 5am local time (3am UK time) via Baneasa airport following pressure by Trump to lift the travel restrictions imposed on them.
Andrew, 38, and Tristan, 36, left the country by private jet, with sources adding that the brothers were headed to Florida after their passports were returned to them by Romanian authorities.
Their plane was seen arriving in Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, a little over 12 hours after they departed from Romania.

BUCHAREST, Romania (AP) - After weeks in the United States, influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate arrived early Saturday back in Romania, where they face charges of human trafficking and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women.
The Tates, who are dual U.S. and British citizens, were arrested in Romania in late 2022 and formally indicted last year on charges that they participated in a criminal ring that lured women to Romania, where they were allegedly sexually exploited. Andrew Tate was also charged with rape. They deny all of the allegations against them.
The brothers plane which Andrew Tate said earlier cost $185,000 to jet across the Atlantic to sign one single piece of paper landed at Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport shortly before 1am local time Saturday morning, 2300 GMT Friday.
After arriving at their residence near the capital, Bucharest, Andrew Tate told reporters they returned because innocent men dont run from anything and he vowed to clear his name in court.
After all we've been through, we truly deserve the day in court where it is stated that we've done nothing wrong and that we should have never been in court in the first place. We should have never gone to jail. We should have never had our assets seized. We should have never had our names slandered, he said. Anyone who believed any of this garbage has a particularly low IQ.
Their return to Romania comes nearly a month after a travel ban imposed on the brothers was lifted by TRUMP, after which they flew on a private jet to the U.S., landing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Andrew Tate faces a civil trial in 2027 over allegations he subjected four women to physical or sexual abuse in the first case of its kind, a court has heard.
At a High Court hearing in central London on Tuesday, Judge Richard Armstrong said the claimants were "seeking damages likely to reach six figures".
Two of the women were in an intimate relationship with the controversial influencer, while the other two worked for his online webcam business at the time of the allegations between 2013 and 2015.
One claims the former professional kickboxer, 38, grabbed her by the throat, assaulted her with a belt and pointed a gun at her face as he said: "You're going to do as I say or there'll be hell to pay".
The court heard that a trial of the claims could be held in early 2027 and could last three weeks.
Tate denies the allegations, with his lawyers saying in his written defence that the claims are false and that all sexual activity was consensual.
His lawyer, Vanessa Marshall KC, who was not required to, and did not, attend the hearing, said Tate intends to give evidence in his defence at trial and will call around 11 witnesses.
Tate pointed a gun at a womans face and told her to do as he said, according to court documents seen by Sky News.
The controversial social media influencer allegedly told her: Im a boss, you're going to do as I say or there'll be hell to pay. The woman, who worked for Tate on his online webcam business, alleges he threatened her daily.
She is one of four women who have launched a civil claim against Tate in the UK, with allegations including rape, assault and coercive control.
At a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, the High Court was told that the case is believed to be the first where allegations of coercive control will be considered in a civil context of whether this can amount to intentional harm, and that a trial could be held over three weeks in January 2027.

UK prosecutors have confirmed they have authorised 21 charges against influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate, including rape, actual bodily harm and human trafficking.
Andrew Tate, 38, faces 10 charges including rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking and controlling prostitution for gain charges connected to three alleged victims.
Tristan Tate, 36, faces 11 charges including rape, actual bodily harm and human trafficking; charges connected to one alleged victim.
The two British Americans are under investigation in Romania, facing a number of charges, which they deny.
A Crown Prosecution Service spokesperson said: We can confirm that we have authorised charges against Andrew and Tristan Tate for offences including rape, human trafficking, controlling prostitution and actual bodily harm against three women.
These charging decisions followed receipt of a file of evidence from Bedfordshire police.
A European arrest warrant was issued in England in 2024, and as a result the Romanian courts ordered the extradition to the UK of Andrew and Tristan Tate.
However, the domestic criminal matters in Romania must be settled first.
The Crown Prosecution Service reminds everyone that criminal proceedings are active, and the defendants have the right to a fair trial.
It is extremely important that there be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.
An international arrest warrant was issued by Bedfordshire police for the siblings over allegations dating back to between 2012 and 2015, which they deny.
They are already facing prosecution in Romania over allegations of trafficking minors, sexual intercourse with a minor and money laundering.
A separate case against them, in which they are accused of human trafficking and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women, has been sent back to prosecutors.
The pair are due to be extradited to the UK after the conclusion of proceedings in Romania.
Andrew Tate is also being sued by four other women after the Crown Prosecution Service decided not to prosecute in 2019. He has denied the allegations.
Lawyer Matt Jury, representing several alleged British victims of Andrew Tate, said: We welcome the clarity from the Crown Prosecution Service that our authorities are working to ensure the Tates face justice here in the UK they cannot be allowed to escape extradition.
At the same time, we ask once more that CPS admit its mistake in failing to prosecute Tate when he lived in the UK and finally charge him for the rape and assault of the other three women, our clients, who originally filed criminal complaints against him as long ago as 2014 but were failed by the system. They deserve justice, too.
The allegations were subject to a Hertfordshire police investigation, which was closed in 2019.
The Tates are the sons of an American chess master, who also served in the US air force as a sergeant, and a British catering assistant. The brothers were raised on an estate in Luton, Bedfordshire.

Andrew Tate allegedly secured a golden passport from the Pacific island nation of Vanuatu the month he was arrested in Romania on charges including rape and human trafficking, it has been reported.
The influencer allegedly received the passport through a citizenship by investment programme that allows foreign nationals to buy citizenship for $130,000, according to the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project and Intelligence Online.
The Guardian detailed in 2021 in a months long investigation how Vanuatu sold passports and with them visa free access to the UK and EU to thousands of individuals. Buyers included people linked to sanctions, or facing serious allegations, or with warrants out for their arrest. In December, the EU revoked the visa free travel agreement because of its concerns over the scheme.
Tates citizenship was said to have been granted in December 2022, according to NXT Citizen, the agency that submitted the application, OCCRP reported. That month, Tate and his brother, Tristan, 36, were arrested by Romanian authorities on charges of human trafficking and forming an organised crime group.
Andrew Tate was also accused of rape. His passport was issued in January 2023 while he was still being held in pre trial detention, it has been claimed.
The Tate brothers, who grew up in Luton in the UK, have been under criminal investigation in Romania since April 2022. It is not clear when Tate applied for citizenship for Vanuatu, which does not have a formal extradition arrangement with Romania.
The Tate brothers have denied the allegations in Romania, and an appeals court said in December that a human trafficking case could not proceed because of legal and procedural irregularities. The case has been sent back to prosecutors.

The injured worker needed emergency medical care, local outlet Gandul reported.
A few hours later, the suspect was reported to have returned to the residence, where he was apprehended by security. Police intervened and the suspect was arrested.
Tate, who is currently living in Romania with his brother, said that the suspect had been lurking in the vicinity of my house recently before the alleged attack.
He claimed that the man attacked a construction worker who was working on his garage with a blade.
The police are finally getting involved but it took him trying to kill a man before they took action, he wrote on X on Wednesday.
Tristan Tates Romanian Election Interference
Romanian authorities have launched an investigation into British American influencer Tristan Tate over allegations he broke election laws by posting political content on social media during the countrys recent presidential elections.
The probe, confirmed by police sources, is centred on a social media post that Tate is alleged to have shared on election day and included direct or implicit political messaging, which is illegal in Romania.
Tate, 36, is the younger brother of controversial influencer Andrew Tate, 38, a self described misogynist. The pair have a combined social media following of over 13 million.
Both are being investigated by Romanian authorities in a separate case in relation to a number of charges, which they deny. The latest investigation was opened by Ilfov county police after it received an official complaint.
It is alleged that Tate may have tried to influence voters through the social media post, which may constitute offences of foreign election interference and campaigning during restricted periods.
He has been summoned for questioning on Tuesday. Andrew is not involved in this case, according to official sources.
The BBC has contacted Tates representatives for comment. He has not issued any public statement regarding the investigation.
