21 Crew Members Remain Stranded on Cargo Ship Twenty-one crew members remain aboard a bulk carrier which lost power in turbulent waters near Sydney, after overnight rescue attempts failed. 5 Jul 2022 Sky News Australia ![]() 21 crew members remain stranded on a cargo ship in Sydney – after two failed rescue attempts in extreme weather. New South Wales Port Authority chief executive Philip Holliday said the vessel lost power in a voyage to Melbourne on Sunday. The plan is for the ship to be towed into Port Botany today after being held in place by anchors and sailing vessels overnight.
