Horrific Moment Dad Ploughs Into Kids With Car

Horrifying footage has captured a dad allegedly ploughing his car into a group of schoolchildren after his daughter was drenched in a water fight.

Screaming youngsters scattered as a silver vehicle mounted a pavement and drove towards them near Barra Hall Park in Hayes, west London on Friday afternoon.

A girl can be heard shrieking "is that guy trying to kill people" while a group attempt to chase down the car.

Another clip uploaded shortly beforehand appears to show a man scuffling with children in school uniform as they squirt water pistols.

The video was posted to social media alongside the caption: "Apparently it was due to his daughter getting drenched in a water fight."

Police confirmed a 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of common assault and dangerous driving.

He was released under investigation while enquiries continue.

A 14-year-old girl claimed she had been assaulted by the car's driver and a 15-year-old boy alleged the car had hit his leg.

Neither needed medical treatment, said the Metropolitan Police.

Footage of the apparent water fight came on the hottest day of the year so far, with temperatures reaching 32.4C at Heathrow in west London and beating the previous high of 30.7C.

The scorching weather made parts of the UK hotter than the Sahara, with temperatures in Dakhla, Western Sahara, struggling to get above 23C.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Police were called at around 17:30hrs on Friday, June 17, to a disturbance in the Barra Hall Park area of Hayes UK.

"It was reported that a man had his driven his car recklessly on a grassed area where a large number of children had gathered.

"A 14-year-old girl alleged that she had been assaulted by the driver of the car.

"A 15-year-old boy alleged that the car had collided with his leg. Neither required medical treatment.

"A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of common assault and dangerous driving.

"He was taken into police custody and has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue."
