A dad is accused of killing his seven-week-old daughter after allegedly throwing her from the balcony of a second floor apartment in a fit of rage.

Police in Las Vegas arrested Clarence Martin Jr, 32, on suspicion of first-degree murder following a domestic dispute at a block of flats at around 3.45am on Saturday.

A coroner's report concluded that the child, named London, died after suffering blunt force trauma to the head following the fall.

According to reports, the suspect had snatched the child from the mother's arms and tossed her from the balcony after they became embroiled in a late-night argument

Martin then allegedly fled in a vehicle, crashing it twice, before eventually being apprehended by police on the tarmac of nearby McCarran International Airport after he disguised himself as an airport employee.

A GoFundMe page created by a relative of the baby's mother Nicole Poole, has so far raised $7,000 (£5,000) to help raise funds for the funeral.

The page reads : “You will always hold a special place in all our hearts. You were treasured and loved before we even knew you sweet baby girl. Even if for only a short time, you were our beautiful little princess.”

"Please, please pray for healing and strength for Nicole, and our entire family. Rest In Heaven our precious baby London."

The distraught mother told police that she was asleep in the bedroom when she was awoken in the middle of the night after being kicked by Martin who was behaving erracticly.

After they went into the living room, Martin is believed to have taken the infant from Ms Poole and stepped out onto the balcony.

But he returned seconds later, returning without the child and sending the mother into a panic.

“Poole ran outside and discovered her baby laying on the ground in the parking area,” the police report states.

“She ran down and picked her baby up, ran southbound through the complex because she thought Martin was chasing her.”

Police were called and a neighbour helped Poole to perform CPR on the badly-inured child who was rushed to hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The girl's mother said to police that her partner has a history of "mental issues" and had not eaten or slept for days in the lead up to the tragedy, according to a report by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Last month, Poole posted a photo of her and Martin on her Facebook, cradling her baby bump as she holds hands with Martin.

Marti is due to appear at Las Vegas Justice Court on Tuesday for the initial court hearing.
