TRUMP supporters are flooding the Colorado Supreme Court with violent threats.
One user wrote: "If you live in Colorado, do what the founding fathers ACTUALLY would want. Grab your rifles and some rope."
Police in Colorado are investigating threats made against judges who ruled Donald Trump cannot be listed on the state's presidential primary ballot.
Denver Police said they was providing extra patrols around the homes of justices in the city.
The Denver FBI office said it was assisting local police.
Colorado's Supreme Court ruled last week that Mr Trump is ineligible under a US Constitution clause that bars candidates who engage in insurrection.
Mr Trump and his campaign criticised the 4-3 decision, calling it "deeply flawed", and his campaign has vowed to appeal to the US Supreme Court.
The ruling relied on Section 3 of the Constitution's 14th Amendment, which was enacted after the US Civil War to block Confederate secessionists from returning to power in the reunified country.
The provision states that any official who "engaged in insurrection or rebellion" is disqualified from holding federal office.
The majority on the Colorado court ruled that Mr Trump's actions during the Capitol riot on 6 January 2021 amounted to insurrection.
After news of the ruling came out, a slew of threats against the judges were posted online, according to Advance Democracy, a non-partisan research group that monitors pro-Trump networks.
Some of the posts included personal details, such as the addresses and phone numbers of the judges, the group said.
Threats to hang and shoot the judges were posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, as well as the messaging service Telegram, the Trump-owned Truth Social network and several other fringe websites. Some have been taken down, while some were still live on Tuesday.
Among Trumps'calls for peaceful protests and political action, there were also explicit calls for violence.
In a statement, Denver Police said it would "thoroughly investigate any reports of threats or harassment" but declined to provide further details, citing privacy concerns and the ongoing inquiries.
Daniel J Jones, Advance Democracy's president, warned that he has observed "significant violent language and threats being made against the Colorado justices and others perceived to be behind Colorado's Supreme Court ruling".
"The normalisation of this type of violent rhetoric is cause for significant concern and it's appropriate for law enforcement to respond with protective actions," he added.
Alongside threats and warnings of violence and "civil war", there were also unevidenced allegations that the extreme rhetoric was a "trap" or "false flag" designed to goad law-abiding Trump supporters into committing violence.
One user wrote "I know it's all a trap," but said they would still "cheer" if the justices were victims of targeted violence.
The Colorado case was brought by a liberal watchdog group and a collection of anti-Trump Republican and independent voters.
Mr Trump has until 4 January to appeal the Colorado ruling, and legal experts say that it will have a tough time withstanding the scrutiny of the conservative-leaning US Supreme Court.
Mr Trump's Republican challengers have rallied around him on the issue, and Democrats are concerned that the court ruling will further fuel the former president's insistence he is being unfairly targeted by the judicial system.
Trump himself posted dozens of times on Truth Social over the holiday weekend, criticising the Colorado decision and the many other legal cases against him.

Donald Trump will remain on Michigan’s state ballot after a ruling from the Michigan supreme court on Wednesday, which upheld a lower court order.
The move sets the stage for the former president to participate in the Michigan primary despite accusations that he led an insurrection against the United States.
The court’s decision not to move forward with a case against Trump sets the court in sharp contrast to the Colorado supreme court, which recently ruled to strip Trump from its state primary ballot because of his role in the January 6 riot at the US Capitol.
In Michigan, as in Colorado, the challengers have invoked section 3 of the US constitution’s 14th amendment, which broadly blocks people from holding government office if they “have engaged in insurrection or rebellion” against the US constitution having previously sworn an oath to uphold it.
Legal experts are divided on whether this provision, written against the backdrop of the US civil war, applies to the office of the president. There are also questions as to whether Trump’s actions around January 6 legally constitute “insurrection or rebellion”.
Colorado’s decision is currently paused. More than a dozen states have similar litigation in the works, according to a database maintained by Lawfare, which covers national security issues.
The Michigan supreme court justices did not give a reasoning for their decision.

Maine has become the second state to disqualify Donald Trump from the primary ballot, citing the 14th Amendment's ban on anyone who engaged in insurrection from holding office.
The decision by Maine's secretary of state, Shenna Bellows, follows a similar conclusion made on December 19 by Colorado's Supreme Court.
Trump's team on Thursday night said they will appeal the decision, as they will in Colorado. On Thursday, the Republican Party in Colorado appealed against their Supreme Court's decision, meaning that he is back on the ballot until an expected U.S. Supreme Court ruling.
Bellows, a Democrat, concluded that Trump, the frontrunner for the Republican nomination in 2024, incited an insurrection when he spread false claims about voter fraud in the 2020 election and then urged his supporters to march on the Capitol to stop lawmakers from certifying the vote.
Bellows suspended her decision until the state Supreme Court ruled on the matter.

Law professors, attorneys and legal analysts have roundly dismissed Donald Trumps claim to have “absolute immunity” from prosecution for any acts he committed when president.
Trumps’ attorneys on Tuesday argued to a three-judge panel for the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals that presidents can’t be prosecuted unless they are impeached and then convicted by the Senate. The claim came as Trumps legal team sought to nix felony charges against the former president for his role in inciting the deadly U.S. Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021.
The argument was greeted with skepticism from the panel.
As it was by legal experts commenting on the claim.
Harvard University constitutional law professor Laurence Tribe told MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell it was “a ridiculous argument.”
He said, “It would be absolutely astonishing if any panel of judges, let alone a panel as qualified and smart as this one, were to give the Trump argument the time of day.”
He added, “It’s not an argument that any real lawyer would have come up with” and “makes no sense.”

Faced with numerous legal battles, Donald Trump is once again arguing that he should be granted immunity from criminal prosecution – even in the case of events that “cross the line”.
At 2am on Thursday, in an all-caps post on his social media platform Truth Social, the former president wrote that all presidents should have “full immunity” in order to “properly function” in their position.
“ANY MISTAKE, EVEN IF WELL INTENDED, WOULD BE MET WITH ALMOST CERTAIN INDICTMENT BY THE OPPOSING PARTY AT TERM END,” he wrote. “EVEN EVENTS THAT ‘CROSS THE LINE’ MUST FALL UNDER TOTAL IMMUNITY, OR IT WILL BE YEARS OF TRAUMA TRYING TO DETERMINE GOOD FROM BAD.”
Mr Trump has been attempting to get federal charges against him, which accuse him of election interference, dismissed. A federal appeals court is expected to make a ruling on the matter soon. So far, the three-judge panel does not seem likely to rule in his favour.
In the Truth Social post on Thursday, Mr Trump invoked the example of “rogue cops” and “bad apples” in police departments for why he should be immune from prosecution.
“YOU CAN’T STOP POLICE FROM DOING THE JOB OF STRONG & EFFECTIVE CRIME PREVENTION BECAUSE YOU WANT TO GUARD AGAINST THE OCCASIONAL ‘ROGUE COP’ OR ‘BAD APPLE,’” he wrote. “SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO LIVE WITH ‘GREAT BUT SLIGHTLY IMPERFECT.’”
In the midst of his 2024 presidential campaign, Mr Trump is facing several separate court cases against him, including 91 criminal charges across four separate indictments.
Currently in New York, E Jean Carroll — who has accused Mr Trump of sexual assault — is in federal court for her a civil defamation case against him. He also faces a judgment following a civil fraud trial stemming from accusations that he vastly inflated his net worth in order to fraudulently obtain favourable financing terms.
The frontrunner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination is also facing criminal charges in Georgia for election interference, as well as a federal case over allegations that he mishandled classified documents.

A federal appeals court on Tuesday rejected Donald Trumps request that it reconsider his appeal against a gag order imposed against him in the criminal case over his efforts to overturn the 2020 election results, the latest defeat for the former president in his attempt to remove the restrictions.
The decision by the US court of appeals to deny Trump an “en banc” rehearing – where the full bench of judges consider the matter – paves the way for him to lodge a final appeal with the US supreme court.
For months, Trump has been attempting to free himself from a limited protective order entered by the US district judge Tanya Chutkan, who is overseeing the criminal case in Washington, which has prevented him from making inflammatory statements that could intimidate trial witnesses or poison the jury pool.
The gag order came after special counsel prosecutors complained that Trump’s brazen public statements attacking them, court staff and potential trial witnesses could chill witness testimony and impede the fair administration of justice.
The filing from prosecutors drew attention to Trump’s rally speeches and posts on his Truth Social platform. In one post, Trump attacked his vice-president, Mike Pence, wildly claiming he had “made up stories about me” and had gone over to the “dark side” by talking to prosecutors.
Trump has also attacked Gen Mark Milley, the former chair of the joint chiefs of staff and another likely trial witness, after his testimony was cited in the indictment. Trump suggested that Milley had committed treason and mused that people who committed treason have historically been executed.
Chutkan agreed with prosecutors and issued an order preventing Trump from assailing prosecutors, court staff and trial witnesses. She allowed Trump only to have free rein to attack the Biden administration and the US justice department, and to allege the case was politically motivated.
Trump appealed but had his challenge largely rejected by a three-judge panel at the DC circuit, which upheld the restrictions with the caveat that Trump would also be free to assail the special counsel Jack Smith and people involved in post-2020 election matters as long as he did not target their trial testimony.
The panel rejected Trump’s position that there could only be a gag order after a statement by him had chilled a witness to be misguided, not least because the point of the gag order was to ensure no such harm would occur in the first place.
The chilly reception that Trump has received from the DC circuit over his gag order appeals has been unsurprising. Protective orders are standard in criminal cases, and federal appeals courts are generally loath to interfere with the wide discretion enjoyed by trial judges.“Mr Trump is a former president and current candidate for the presidency,” the appeals court wrote in a 68-page opinion. “But Mr Trump is also an indicted criminal defendant, and he must stand trial in a courtroom under the same procedures that govern all other criminal defendants.”

TRUMPS former lawyer Rudy Giuliani has listed a claim against the one-term president over unpaid legal fees in a new bankruptcy filing.
The ex-New York City mayor includes a “possible claim for unpaid legal fees against Donald J Trump.” in the 26 January filing, which states that the amount is “undetermined.”
Mr Giuliani filed for bankruptcy last month, days after a federal judge ordered him to “immediately” pay more than $148m to a pair of Georgia election workers a jury determined he defamed.
Mr Giuliani represented Mr Trump in a string of unsuccessful lawsuits contesting the results of the 2020 election that he lost to Joe Biden.
Mr Trump’s legal fees owed to Mr Giuliani have previously been reported. The New York Times wrote in August 2023 that “Mr Trump has never explicitly told Mr Giuliani why he is effectively stiffing him, but the former president has pointed out that he lost the cases related to the election.”
The newspaper reported that the former president told his aides that he didn’t want Mr Giuliani to receive “a dime” unless he succeeded in the case, and noted that $340,000 had been paid to Mr Giuliani — through Trump’s Save America PAC — to cover some of his ex-lawyers’ legal debt.

But now his lawyer in that bankruptcy case is arguing he should be paid for the legal fees, so he can withdraw from the suit. The fees total $250,000.
According to a court filing flagged by CourtWatch, Kenneth Caruso Law, LLC is demanding payment despite Giuliani's bankruptcy from the "debtor."
"Upon approval of this Application, Mr. Joseph Sibley of Camara & Sibley and Mr. Kenneth Caruso of KCL will execute and file in the D.C. Circuit a formal notice of withdrawal and substitution of counsel," the filing says.
"Given the nature and amount of the judgment in Freeman et al. v. Giuliani, it is imperative to the Debtor and the estate that the Debtor succeed in and have excellent representation in the Appeal," it continues.
When Caruso was hired to represent Giuliani, the former mayor said that Caruso was a friend who agreed to represent him.
"In total, Giuliani faces at least 10 civil lawsuits," Bloomberg Law wrote in April. "Those suits include multiple alleging defamation, he disclosed in court filings. Giuliani has said he has a legal defense fund, and creditors have asked for more information about who has contributed to it."
Caruso is only the latest Giuliani lawyer struggling to get cash out of his client amid financial woes.
L. Allyn Stockton Jr., who represents Giuliani in the Georgia racketeering case related to attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election, has alleged in a lawsuit that he's owed $1.36 million in unpaid legal fees.
Stockton, however, said that he and Giuliani have an "arrangement that I'm satisfied with" for how to pay for his legal services.

Rudy Giuliani's lavish lifestyle — including his binge watching and Uber tabs — is earning him scorn from creditors who are accusing him of "gross mismanagement." In a court paper filed this week, Giuliani's unsecured creditors alleged that he was blowing off obligations he incurred when he filed for bankruptcy late last year.
"More than five months ago, the Debtor commenced his bankruptcy case," reads court papers filed on Tuesday. "One might ask what he has accomplished during that time. An objective review leads to one conclusion: he has accomplished almost nothing."
The document has creditors accusing Giuliani of failing to curtail such excesses like “60 Amazon transactions, charges for entertainment such as Netflix, Prime Video, Kindle, Audible, Paramount+ and Apple services and products and numerous Uber rides.”
"After the Debtor provided the Committee with the American Express credit card statements as supporting documentation... the Committee gained insight into [Giuliani's] egregious spending habits," it notes.
The filing was first reported by The Independent.
Giuliani filed for Chapter 11 protection soon after a Fulton County jury awarded $148 million to Georgia election workers Shaye Moss and Ruby Freeman for the reputational and emotional harm they weathered when Giuliani falsely accused them of stealing votes from President Donald Trump.
Since then, Giuliani was let go from his WABC radio talk show gig, fought for his Palm Beach condo, and started hawking coffee as a means of generating revenue to pay the judgement.
Earlier this month, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Sean Lane expressed frustration at the pace of the progress to dealing with the former New York City mayor's financial problems.
His attorney Heath Berger, expressed optimism at the time: “They finally have, I think, gotten things on track.”

The September 11 attacks, commonly known as 9/11, were four coordinated Islamist suicide terrorist attacks carried out by al-Qaeda against the United States on September 11, 2001. That morning, 19 terrorists hijacked four commercial airliners scheduled to travel from the East Coast to California.
According to The New York Times, "In a filing last week, attorneys for Mr. Giuliani said that one of the former New York City mayors' companies, Giuliani Communications, receives about $16,300 per month in income from his internet show 'America’s Mayor Live.' Mr. Giuliani’s attorney said that money comes 'mainly' from the Sept. 11 charity, the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation."
"The revelation of the revenue stream comes after months of deeply contentious arguments from creditors about the state of Mr. Giuliani’s personal finances, with complaints that much of it remains deliberately incomplete and opaque. Only recently did creditors learn, through social media, that Mr. Giuliani had a contract to earn money from a new branded coffee line," said the report.
The foundation has confirmed the payments, saying in a statement, “In the years following 9/11, Mayor Giuliani has been an invaluable supporter of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. He was instrumental in planning the first Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk NYC in 2002.”
Between all of the legal expenses, civil judgments, and having a radio show that provided considerable income for him booted off the air, Giuliani is in deep financial distress and trying to sort everything out with bankruptcy proceedings.

Trump ally Rudy Giulianis' bankruptcy case was dismissed Friday, clearing the way for two Georgia election workers to collect millions after they accused him of defamation. In court documents posted by MSNBC contributor Adam Klasfeld, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Sean H. Lane wrote called Giuliani's "lack of financial transparency" "particularly troubling."
"Counsel to the Freeman Plaintiffs should settle an order on three days' notice," Lane wrote in concluding the case. "The proposed order should be submitted by filing a notice of the proposed order on the Case Management/Electronic Case filing docket, with a copy of the proposed order attached as an exhibit to the notice."
Giulianis' bankruptcy case was expected to hit the "end of the road" this week, Ryan Goodman, former special counsel for the Department of Defense
That day, Lane said he was leaning toward dismissing Giulianis’ request for protection, "frankly, because I am concerned that the past is prologue."

Rudy Giuliani disbarred in Washington DC over role in Trump election plot
Rudy Giuliani, the former New York mayor who built a career as an uncompromising crime-fighter, has been permanently disbarred from practising law in Washington DC in a ruling stemming from his role in trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Donald Trumps favour.
The decision came in the form of a one-page order issued by the US capitals court of appeal and followed a similar order issued in July in New York, Giulianis home state.
'ORDERED that Rudolph W Giuliani is hereby disbarred from the practice of law in the District of Columbia, nunc pro tunc [a Latin term used in legal parlance to mean retroactive] to August 9, 2021, Thursdays appeal court order said.'
In 2021, the appeals court had suspended Giulianis law licence in Washington after being notified of a similar decision in New York.
The DC bars board of responsibility recommended in 2022 that Giulianis law licence be indefinitely revoked after its investigators found him guilty of unethical conduct over inaccurate and unsupported claims he made in testimony to a federal court in Pennsylvania while disputing the 2020 election results.
The DC court of appeals order did not hinge on those findings. By contrast, the New York appeals court made similar judgments in issuing its ruling, asserting that Giuliani repeatedly and intentionally made false statements, some of which were perjurious, to the federal court, state lawmakers, the public and this Court concerning the 2020 Presidential election.
Ted Goodman, a spokesman for Giuliani called the order an absolute travesty and a total miscarriage of justice.

A U.S. judge ordered Rudy Giuliani to turn over control of a luxury New York apartment, jewelry and other valuables to the control of two Georgia election workers seeking to collect nearly $146 million from the former New York mayor in a defamation case.
A federal jury in Washington, D.C., last year found Giuliani, a former personal lawyer to Donald Trump, had defamed the two election workers, Ruby Freeman and her daughter Wandrea' "Shaye" Moss, by falsely accusing them of rigging votes in the 2020 election, which Trump lost to Democrat Joe Biden.
Giuliani was ordered to put control of the Manhattan apartment, cash accounts, sports memorabilia, high-end watches and other items into a receivership controlled by Freeman and Moss within seven days, according to an order from U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman.
"We are proud that our clients will finally begin to receive some of the compensation to which they are entitled for Giuliani?s actions," Aaron Nathan, a lawyer for Freeman and Moss, said in a statement.
A spokesperson for Giuliani did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Freeman and Moss also received court approval to pursue roughly $2 million in unpaid legal fees Giuliani said he was owed from the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee for work following the 2020 election.
Giuliani sought to postpone a decision on the legal fees until after the Nov. 5 election between Trump, a Republican, and Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris, arguing that he did not want to create what he said would be an inaccurate impression that he was suing Trump.
Liman deferred ruling on the Freeman and Moss? attempt to take possession of Giuliani?s Palm Beach, Florida, condominium and three New York Yankees World Series rings that Giuliani?s son Andrew has claimed were given to him.
Giuliani declared bankruptcy after the defamation award was handed down, but a judge ended the case in August, allowing Freeman and Moss to begin trying to collect on the judgment.
Giuliani is appealing the verdict.
The former mayor has been disbarred in New York and faces criminal indictments in Georgia and Arizona for aiding Trump?s attempt to overturn the 2020 election. He has pleaded not guilty and denied wrongdoing.

Kenneth Chesebro on Thursday became the latest ex-lawyer of former President Donald Trump to lose their law license in connection to working for the Republican presidential nominee.
A New York appeals court suspended Chesebros law license in the state, citing his guilty plea in the Fulton County district attorneys sprawling racketeering case against Trump and his allies, related to efforts to subvert the 2020 election results in Georgia.
Chesebro and 18 codefendants, including Trump, were charged "in a scheme to submit false election results to Congress concerning the 2020 presidential election."
In October 2023, Chesebro pleaded guilty to one felony count of conspiracy to commit filing false documents.
Chesebro and two others were also charged with forgery in Wisconsin earlier this year, accused of sending false slates of electors to Congress in efforts to block it from certifying President Joe Bidens victory in the 2020 election.
Chesebro isnt the only ex-Trump lawyer to be disbarred or lose their law license related to their work for the former president.

Michael Cohen
Another lawyer stripped of his rights to practice law in New York as a result of his work for Trump was Michael Cohen, Trumps onetime fixer and confidant turned critic.The New York State Supreme Court disbarred Cohen in 2019 after he pleaded guilty in two separate cases related to his work for the former president.
John Eastman
Conservative lawyer John Eastman was suspended from practicing law in California and temporarily suspended from practicing in Washington, D.C., related to his role in attempts to nullify results of the 2020 election.
Eastman was among the codefendants charged in the Fulton County district attorneys racketeering case, and California State Bar Court Judge Yvette Roland recommended in March that Eastman be disbarred.
Jenna Ellis
Former Trump attorney Jenna Ellis' license to practice law was suspended after she pleaded guilty in the Fulton County district attorneys racketeering case against the former president and his allies.
Ellis pleaded guilty in October 2023 to one felony count of aiding and abetting false statements and writings. Her law license in Colorado was suspended in May, and she's barred from practicing in the state for three years.
But Trump won't offer them "a plate at the dinner table," he said. "He eats alone."

Trumps presidential win in 2024, where for the first time in three tries he won the popular vote, has given a boost to activists who are pushing individual states to change how they tally Electoral College votes.

The people behind the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact created in 2006 has been given new life by the Trump win.
Under the compact, states would award their electoral college votes to whichever presidential candidate wins the popular vote, not necessarily the one who wins their state.
As the Posts Dan Merica and Matthew Choi elaborated, the new way of accounting would kick in only when states that add up to the needed 270 electoral votes adopt it.
The compact, which has been adopted by 17 states, is undergoing a revival that has the people behind it more optimistic than ever.
