A 14 year old teenage girl was allegedly locked in her bedroom and starved for at least two years while her morbidly obese family watched through a webcam.

Police say they initially believed the 14 year old was between six and eight years old, and weighed 2.5 stone when they found her at her home in Wisconsin. Officials say she told staff that she hadnt been outside since she was ten or 12 years old, and hospital staff were forced to put her on a feeding tube, due to her severe malnourishment, until she could eat on her own.

Four people have been arrested, including her father Walter Goodman, 47, who called the emergency services, on multiple counts of chronic child neglect. His wife Melissa Goodman, 50, her daughter, Savanna LeFever, 29, and LeFevers partner, Kayla Stemler, 27, who all lived at the property with the alleged victim, face the same charges.

Outagamie County Assistant District Attorney Julie DuQuaine said, She has now since been released from the hospital and is gaining weight and doing better. I was able to observe photographs of her, and she looked like a skeleton. She was just literally skin and bones at 35 pounds. A doctor at the hospital said the girls eyes lit up after learning of the different food available to her, and that she was elated to learn she'd have regular meals.

Beyond the physical recovery, she is also working on the basics of self care things many of us do without thinking, like bathing, brushing her teeth, and caring for her hair. These simple tasks were denied to her for so long, and each day she grows more independent as she learns to care for herself

All four are set to return to court in the coming weeks.
