At least five people have been injured in a horror stabbing in Amsterdam in the Netherlands where police have arrested a suspect - investigations into the attack continue

Several people have been stabbed in Amsterdam where eye witnesses reported hearing an icy scream as at least five people suffered injuries.
Dozens of police officers, ambulances and an air ambulance were scrambled to the scene in the Netherlands capital. A store employee has revealed she heard a lot of shouting and screaming and people started running in the direction of the incident.
Amsterdam Police said in a statement: In a stabbing incident at the Sint Nicolaasstraat nearby the Dam square five people have been injured. One suspect has been arrested. Images of what appears to be the alleged suspect being detained has now been shared on social media
Dutch police have clarified the five people injured in todays attack included the suspect, who was arrested.
In an update the force said: Among the five wounded we previously reported, is also the arrested suspect. This means there are four victims of the stabbing.
We currently have no further information about the condition of the four injured victims

Footage shows the man chasing the suspect through busy streets before tackling him.
He could then be seen pinning the suspect to the ground until authorities arrived on Thursday afternoon.
The suspect had stabbed five people near Dam Square
The victims are a couple in their late 60s from the US, a 73 year old woman from Belgium, a 26 year old man from Poland and a 19 year old Dutch woman.
They all remain in hospital in a stable condition, Mayor Femke Halsema said in an update on Friday.
Ms Halsema thanked the Brit for showing great instinct and presented him with a badge for heroism.
He was walking down the street and heard a commotion, she told local broadcaster AT5. Of course you dont know what the suspect was planning, what could have happened next, but you cant rule anything out.
This man made a decision in a split second, which is truly exceptional and for which there should be a lot of appreciation.
