Footage has emerged showing the final moments of the plane which crashed at Nepal's Airport. MailOnline 25 JUL 2024 ![]() The Saurya Airlines aircraft was seen hurtling towards the ground seconds after taking off at the runway at Tribhuvan Airport in Kathmandu on Wednesday morning. Of the 19 aboard, 18 passengers died with the pilot the only survivor. The plane took off at 11.11am local time (GMT+5.45) but disaster struck immediately when the plane was seen crashing and going up in flames. Rescue teams scrambled to the scene to recover any survivors. Video which captured the crash shows airport staff on the tarmac watching and shouting in horror as the aircraft goes down, exploding in a cloud of black smoke. A fire which broke out from the impact was extinguished by emergency services. Police official Basanta Rajauri has since confirmed the pilot was the only survivor and was taken to Kathmandu Medical College Hospital for treatment. One doctor at the hospital told media the pilot suffered injuries to the eyes, but was otherwise safe. ![]() The 19 people aboard included technical staff and cabin crew, with the airline manifest showing there were two pilots at the time.
