Chilling Final Words of Russian Pilot Who Let Kid Take Control of Plane Before Crash Killed Everyone

Aeroflot Flight 593 crashed into a mountain range killing everyone on board, but recovery of flight recorder data showed Yaroslav Kudrinsky had let a child take control of the plane

The relief captains' children were invited into the ****pit to have a go at 'flying' the aircraft


The haunting last words of a pilot uttered just moments before his plane crashed into a mountain killing everyone onboard reveal that he had let his child mess around with the controls.


The notorious Aeroflot Flight 593 was travelling from Sheremetyevo International Airport in Moscow, Russia to Kai Tak Airport in Hong Kong on March 23 1994 - but a grave mistake saw the flight end in total disaster before it ever arrived.

The aircraft was carrying 12 flight crew and 63 passengers on board, including Yaroslav Kudrinsky's two children, who were on their first international trip. Half way through the flight, the most experienced pilot Captain Andrey Danilov had left the ****pit to rest, leaving Kudrinsky, 39 and first officer Igor Piskaryov, 33 in charge of flying the aircraft.

With the plane in autopilot and the course set, Kudrinsky took the opportunity to invite his two children into the ****pit for a tour of the flight deck while most of the passengers slept, reports the Daily Star. Keen to give them an unforgettable experience, he allowed each of them to take a seat in the Captain's seat and touch the controls to feel like they were flying the plane.

Yana, 12, had her turn first without any complications, her father adjusting the flights path so it felt as if she was turning the plane slightly even though autopilot was still in control. She was followed by Edgar, her 16-year-old brother. Once again, Kudrinsky manipulated the controls slightly to give his son a taster of flying the plane but in excitement, the boy pushed hard on the control column, exerting around 10kg of force.

Unbeknown to the flight crew, this caused the plane's autopilot to turn off and Edgar really was momentarily in control of the aircraft. A silent warning appeared on the flight deck but was missed before both of the pilots noticed. Realising his son had been too heavy handed, Kudrinsky can be heard on the flight recorder telling him to let go.

He said: "Eldar, get away. Go to the back, go to the back Eldar! You see the danger don't you? Go away, go away Eldar! Go away, go away. I tell you to go away!"






In just two-and-half-minutes, the plane crashed into mountains killing everyone on board


The aircraft manoeuvred into a dangerously high bank angle of 90 degrees and first officer Piskaryov is heard urging Kudrinsky to give "full power" to the jet in order to correct it. But the aircraft could not handle such a steep turn and stalled. While the pilots initially succeeded in correcting this and bringing the plane back into a normal angle, but the inexperienced first officer accidentally overcompensated, stalling the aircraft once more.

The aircraft began to spin but despite efforts to correct it again, they had lost too much altitude and plummeted into the Kuznetsk Alatau mountain range below at a speed of speed of 160mph, instantly killing everyone on board. The entire tragic and totally avoidable situation unfolded in just two-and-a-half minutes.


Although Aeroflot initially refuted the presence of children in the ****pit during the crash, they eventually acknowledged the existence of passengers in the flight deck once black box data revealed the truth.
