A harrowing video of a British baby appearing to be force-fed a shot of vodka has sparked a police investigation.

The tot is seen coughing and spluttering after a giggling woman, from North Wales, seemingly gives the little girl the powerful alcoholic drink.



The shocking clip caused fury on social media after the person allegedly poured the highly intoxicating spirit into the lid and giving it to the child.

The baby has now been "safeguarded" by social services after the video provoked widespread anger on 3 October

But officers would not reveal the relationship between the woman and baby, reports the Daily Post.

The distressing clip triggered a wave of calls to the authorities with people demanding action.

The video, originally shared on TikTok, was slammed by thousands of concerned viewers.

An investigation has been launched with North Wales Police stating they have no further concerns for the child.

In a post on social media, the force's Wrexham Town unit said: "We are aware of a video circulating on social media that appears to involve a small child being administered alcohol by an adult.

"Please be assured that we are currently working alongside Social Services and have safeguarded the child. We continue to investigate the matter and have no further concerns for the child.

"We would like to thank members of the public for reporting their concerns to us and for your support in this investigation."

It is unclear if there was definitely vodka in the bottle, but the child winced when the woman appeared to force the liquid into her mouth.

One viewer said: "People like you don't deserve children, I hope that little girl finds a family who want to look after her properly!"

Another wrote: "Absolutely vile!!!"

While one said: "The look on her baby's face is heartbreaking!!! That poor baby deserves so much better".
