Re: EPSTEIN: Removal of Andrew's Titles is to Protect Future of Monarchy

Prince William Had to Fight for Prince George's Future

Royal Editor Russell Myers tells the Mirror's royal podcast Pod Save the Queen that Prince William was part of the decision to strip Prince Andrew of his titles as the saga affects the future of the monarchy

Daily Mirror 21 JAN 2022

Prince William with his uncle Prince Andrew in 2017. Prince William is a future King

Prince William's supposed hand in stripping Prince Andrew of his military titles shows how he is fighting for the future of the monarchy, a royal expert has said.

Last week, it was announced that the Queen had taken back the military affiliations and royal patronages she'd previously given to her second oldest son.

The Duke of York is mired in sex abuse claims and now facing a civil trial. Andrew vehemently denies all allegations against him.

The Mirror exclusively revealed Her Majesty ruthlessly made her mind up about Andrew after a summit with future king Prince William at her Windsor Castle home.

William met the Queen in her private quarters at Windsor Castle, where sources said it was decided the “axe should swiftly fall” on Andrew’s royal career.

One source said William was locked in talks “for more than an hour” with his gran before the bombshell news was revealed.

And according to the Mirror's Royal Editor Russell Myers, William was involved in the talks as he is a future king.

Russell told the Mirror's Pod Save the Queen podcast: "It's not only his future, it's his children's future.

"If public opinion turns against the whole monarchy, and the court of public opinion weighs heavily in this case, therefore the Queen didn't have an option.

"Of course, she has had to act now because Andrew's position is not only in the gutter, it threatens the whole fabric of the monarchy."

He said: "The palace was trying to distance William’s role from this from a PR perspective and trying not to overplay his hand. But he is fighting for his future, and he is fighting for his children’s future as well."

A statement from Buckingham Palace last week read:

"With The Queen’s approval and agreement, The Duke of York’s military affiliations and Royal patronages have been returned to The Queen.
END

NB: IMO - Public Opinion will turn against The Monarchy MORE when Prince Charles sits on the Throne with Camilla, 'Queen of Tarts' by his side.....

Prince Andrew Went to Sex Clubs With Epstein and Holidayed With Ghislaine in Thailand

Prince Andrew's lavish trip to Thai holiday resort Phuket reportedly included visits to sex-tourism hub Patong, where he went to a go-go bar and frolicked aboard a £1million yacht with a topless Atomic Kitten singer among other scantily-clad models

The holiday was months before Virginia Giuffre claims she was trafficked to the prince for sex

Prince Andrew went on tours of red-light sex clubs with billionaire paedo Jeffrey Epstein and holidayed with pimp Ghislaine Maxwell while in Thailand, according to reports.

In a set of infamous photos the Duke of York played up to his "Playboy prince" moniker when he was seen surrounded by topless supermodels partying on a yacht off the coast of Thai seaside resort, Phuket.

Maxwell and Epstein were said to have been on the same holiday as the Queen's second son, with the former thought to have stayed at his hotel.

And the manager of a venue in Patong's red light district said he was graced with a regal visit when the British prince visited his topless go-go bar.

The wild holiday, which took place in New Year in 2001, was around the time Andrew became close with the couple - and just months before he allegedly sexually assaulted Virginia Giuffre.

Andrew has vehemently denied this allegation, and claims there was nothing improper about his relationship with the couple - who were both convicted of child sex crimes in the US.

The duke splashed out £4,000-a-night on a private villa at the lavish and "ultra-exclusive" Amanpuri Hotel in Phuket - where the couple also stayed, reports say.

Andrew (pictured with socialite Goga Ashkenazi) became close with Epstein and Maxwell around the time of the holiday

A Phuket-based journalist known as Lana told The Sun Online the resort is the "go-to place" for high-profile figures who need a "high level of luxury and privacy".

Spending his days on yachts with scantily-clad women, by night the prince reportedly teamed up with Epstein to visit Patong - a notorious sex tourism hub where the streets are lined with go-go bars, massage parlours and other adult entertainment venues.

The pair visited the Banana Disco - a popular tourist nightclub which advertises itself online with videos of women wearing not much at all.

However, Canadian blogger Lana, who runs the site gophuket.net, told the Sun this venue provides "nothing exclusive" and just ****tails and DJ music.

But another stop on their itinerary wasn't so innocent, reports say.

The Queen's second son was said to have visited a bar called Crazy Girls by Rock Hard, which is in a "raunchy area" where "many of the girls are prostitutes".

On Facebook, it says punters can enjoy "the craziest and sexiest ass-smacking bar".

Speaking to The Sunday Mirror at the time, the manager said: "I was amazed to see the Prince here.

"But he was not at all fazed and seemed quite relaxed until people realised who he was."

A regular said: "You certainly wouldn't get a member of the Thai royal family in a place like this.

"The area is very raunchy and many of the girls are prostitutes."

The manager reportedly asked the Duke whether he was Prince Andrew, with him replying that he was.

Epstein was convicted of child sex crimes before his death. Ghislaine was recently found guilty of child sex trafficking

He said the Duke was accompanied by four friends and a security officer and together they ordered a few Absolut vodkas.

One of the girls approached the prince and "flirted a little" but the manager said "he was very polite but there was nothing to it", he added.

He also claimed the bodyguard gave him a hand signal to indicate "I should not draw attention to him".

Ghislaine was in the country at the same time but she wasn't pictured on the yacht.

At the time of the south-east Asian jaunt, the taxpayer was forking out £240,000 to help fund the prince's life.

He was also in receipt of £60,000 from his role as a Royal Navy Commander just before he gave up the position later in 2001.

The risqué snaps showed Andrew trying to throw It Girl Normandie Keith, 28, overboard.

Atomic Kitten singer Jenny Frost, aged 22 at the time, was pictured topless on the £1million vessel.

Speaking to The Sunday People after publication of the snaps: "I had no hesitation in going topless in front of Prince Andrew, why should I? The fact is I didn't want to get strap marks on my body while I was sunbathing.

"I'm not bothered about getting my boobs out in front of anyone."

Kate Middleton to Replace Prince Andrew in History-Making New Role?

The Duchess of Cambridge is being tipped to become the Grenadier Guards' new colonel, according to reports.

It comes after the regiment's previous colonel, the Duke of York, was stripped of all his military affiliations and royal patronages earlier this month, as he faces a civil sexual assault trial in the US.

The Duchess of Cambridge is being tipped to become the Grenadier Guards' new colonel, according to reports.

A new appointment will be decided by the regiment and the Queen.

A senior source in the Grenadier Guards told The Sunday Times: "From straw polling through the ranks, they would all love it to be Kate. We all admire the way she has fitted in and behaved, she never seems to put a foot wrong. Everything she has taken on she really commits to, and we want someone who will really engage with us."

If the Duchess, 40, takes on the role, she will be the second appointed female colonel in its 366-year history.

Prince Andrew, pictured in 2018, has lost his military titles

The Duke of York, 61, took over the honorary role with the Grenadier Guards from his late father, the Duke of Edinburgh, when Prince Philip retired in 2017. But Andrew then stepped back from public duties in November 2019 following his interview with BBC Newsnight, which focused on his connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

A statement from Buckingham Palace on 14 January read: "With The Queen's approval and agreement, The Duke of York's military affiliations and Royal patronages have been returned to The Queen. The Duke of York will continue not to undertake any public duties and is defending this case as a private citizen."

Andrew will also no longer use the style 'His Royal Highness' in any official capacity.

The other British honorary titles he has lost are: Honorary air commodore of RAF Lossiemouth; Colonel-in-chief of the Royal Irish Regiment; Colonel-in-chief of the Small Arms School Corps; Commodore-in-Chief of the Fleet Air Arm; Royal colonel of the Royal Highland Fusiliers, 2nd Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland; Deputy colonel-in-chief of The Royal Lancers (Queen Elizabeth's Own); and Colonel-in-chief of the Yorkshire Regiment.

Prince Andrew Denies Being Co-conspirator of Epstein and Insists on Jury Trial

Duke denies Jeffrey Epstein ‘trafficked girls to him’ and demands trial in Virginia Giuffre’s sexual abuse lawsuit

Prince Andrew has denied being a close friend of convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell, in a legal response to the woman who is suing him in the US for sexual assault.

Prince Andrew denies close friendship with Ghislaine Maxwell in US court files

Prince Andrew has denied that he was a co-conspirator of Jeffrey Epstein, and insisted on a jury trial in Virginia Giuffre’s sexual abuse lawsuit against him, his lawyers said in court papers filed on Wednesday.

“Prince Andrew hereby demands a trial by jury on all causes of action asserted in the complaint,” his lawyers wrote. The Duke of York also denies that Epstein “trafficked girls to him”, the attorneys said in their legal filings.

These statements were filed as part Giuffre’s ongoing legal proceedings against the Duke of York in Manhattan federal court. Giuffre has long alleged that Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell forced her into a sexual encounter with the senior British royal 20 years ago, when she was 17.

Giuffre has alleged that Andrew engaged in sexual misconduct with her on other occasions. Her 9 August lawsuit cited alleged battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Andrew’s denials were part of his “answer and affirmative defenses” to Giuffre’s civil complaint against him. In the 11-page document, Andrew denied wrongdoing, but he did say in this document that he met Epstein “in or around 1999”.

Andrew’s lawyers said that he “lacks sufficient information to admit or deny” Giuffre’s prior allegations that Epstein was “widely renowned as a billionaire who used his vast connections to powerful individuals, and seemingly unlimited wealth and resources, to create a web of transcontinental sex trafficking that served himself, his coconspirators, and some of the most powerful people in the world”.

His counsel also said that Andrew lacked “sufficient information to admit or deny” Giuffre’s contention that Maxwell was “the highest-ranking recruiter in Epstein’s sex-trafficking enterprise”.

Epstein, a convicted sex offender, was apprehended in July 2019 for sex trafficking girls as young as 14. He killed himself about one month later in a Manhattan jail, while awaiting his sex-trafficking trial.

Maxwell, daughter of the British press baron Robert Maxwell, was found guilty of sex trafficking and related charges in December for luring girls as young as 14 into Epstein’s abusive orbit.

Prince Andrew has denied all allegations of misconduct.

In the prince’s response paperwork, his lawyers also listed some reasons why they believe Giuffre’s case should not stand.

They reiterated their unsuccessful claim that Giuffre’s 2009 settlement with Epstein – which included a release for third parties – shielded Andrew from litigation. They also repeated their position that Giuffre brought her complaint too long after the alleged misconduct, barring her from suing.

Andrew’s lawyers also listed “consent” and the “doctrine of unclean hands” – which is an allegation that Giuffre has acted unethically related to the accusations – among his defenses. “Giuffre’s alleged causes of action are barred in whole or in part by her own wrongful conduct,” they wrote.

The new filing came amid seemingly mounting legal woes for the embattled prince.

Judge Lewis Kaplan ruled on 12 January that Giuffre’s suit could go forward. Shortly thereafter, a woman who may have seen Andrew with Giuffre at a London disco the night he allegedly abused the then-teen said she was “willing” to provide testimony.

“I am proud to represent Shukri Walker, who has bravely stepped forward as a witness and encourages others who may have information to do so as well,” the woman’s lawyer, Lisa Bloom, said in an email. “She is willing to do the deposition Virginia Giuffre’s team is seeking.”

Giuffre’s lawsuit, coupled with heightened scrutiny on his ties to Epstein and Maxwell, has proved disastrous for Andrew.

Buckingham Palace said in a 13 January statement: “With the Queen’s approval and agreement, the Duke of York’s military affiliations and royal patronages have been returned to the Queen. The Duke of York will continue not to undertake any public duties and is defending this case as a private citizen.”

Asked for comment on Andrew’s filing, Giuffre’s lawyers said in a statement: “Prince Andrew’s Answer continues his approach of denying any knowledge or information concerning the claims against him, and purporting to blame the victim of the abuse for somehow bringing it on herself.

“We look forward to confronting Prince Andrew with his denials and attempts to blame Ms Giuffre for her own abuse at his deposition and at trial,” their statement also said.

Analysis by Nicholas Witchell, Royal Correspondent

This is a wide-ranging set of denials which is specific about the denial of the sexual abuse.

Prince Andrew is denying even that he was a close friend of Ghislaine Maxwell and frequent visitor of Jeffrey Epstein.

I think Buckingham Palace, which has pushed Prince Andrew and this whole case as far away as it possibly can, will be viewing this with suppressed horror.

They will realise the capacity this story has to dominate headlines and we are just 10 days away from the start of the Platinum Jubilee.

In terms of the strategy, I think Prince Andrew's lawyers are trying to give the impression that Virginia Giuffre's reputation will be damaged if this does come to court.

They will attempt to assert that her conduct was sufficiently wrong in itself that she has forfeited the right to benefit in any way from this situation..

Though one has to wonder how that argument will play in front of a New York jury - a British prince trying to blame Virginia Giuffre.

It's a great final line in this document that Prince Andrew demands the right to be tried by a jury. But as I understand it he gets a jury trial anyway.

Could this all be part of a softening up process in the hope that, as the other side recognises the sort of defence that will be mounted, perhaps they will be more inclined to consider an out of court settlement?

Though at the moment, everything that Virginia Giuffre and her lawyers are saying is indicating that they do want to push this to a trial and they do want their day in court.

In the papers, Prince Andrew's lawyers further argue that Ms Giuffre has no legal basis to bring the case since she is a permanent resident of Australia.

They also refer to a 2009 settlement agreement between Ms Giuffre and Jeffrey Epstein, a long-time associate of Prince Andrew.

Epstein, a convicted sex offender, killed himself in prison in 2019 while awaiting a sex trafficking trial. British socialite Maxwell was found guilty last month of grooming underage girls to be abused by him.

Ms Giuffre is suing the Queen's son for allegedly sexually assaulting her in London, New York and the Virgin Islands when she was a teenager.

She is seeking unspecified damages, but there is speculation the sum could be in the millions of dollars.

Earlier in the month, a judge ruled that the case could proceed.

Buckingham Palace later stripped Prince Andrew of his military titles and patronages, and said he would contest the case as a private individual.

The new court documents describe the Queen's second son as "Prince Andrew, Duke of York aka Andrew Albert Christian Edward, in his personal capacity".

In a statement, David Boies - who is representing Ms Giuffre - said his client and legal team "look forward to confronting Prince Andrew with his denials and attempts to blame Ms Giuffre for her own abuse at his deposition and at trial".

Virginia Giuffres' Dad Slams 'Royal Bluffer' Prince Andrew as 'Game-Playing Coward'

Virginia Giuffre’s dad Sky Roberts said he will give evidence if a trial demanded in legal papers filed by Prince Andrew goes ahead. He added the Queen has 'kind of disowned' her son

Sky Roberts slammed Prince Andrew as a victim-blaming coward

The father of Prince Andrew’s sex accuser has slammed the royal as a victim-blaming coward and a bluffer – and says: I’ll see YOU in court.

Virginia Giuffre’s dad Sky Roberts says he will give evidence if a trial demanded in legal papers filed by the Duke of York goes ahead.

Sky tells the Sunday Mirror: “If my daughter asks me to stand up in court, I will do it and tell them the truth.

“She wouldn’t be doing this if it wasn’t right. I believe in her.”

In an exclusive interview, the 65-year-old father also:

Ridicules the prince’s claim that convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell was not a close friend.

Accuses Andrew, 61, of playing a game of bluff, but “doesn’t have a strong hand”.

Doesn’t believe the prince will ever face a prison sentence.

Says the Queen has “kind of disowned” her son – and thinks “that is great”.

The dad spoke da
ys after Andrew’s lawyers filed paperwork calling for the civil case brought by Virginia to be thrown out because of “her own wrongful conduct” – citing a legal term called the “doctrine of unclean hands”.

Sky believes this will pave the way for claims that Virginia, when a teenager, trafficked other girls for Andrew’s paedo pal Jeffrey Epstein.

The papers filed in New York make 41 denials in a fresh bid to have Virginia’s accusations thrown out of a civil court.

Sky says: “It’s the coward’s way out to try to blame the victim.”

'Actress' Virginia Giuffre claims Andrew raped and sexually abused her three times when she was 17

Virginia claims Andrew raped and sexually abused her three times when she was aged 17. The prince strenuously denies any wrongdoing.

In his legal papers he indicated he wants a jury trial if his claim to dismiss the lawsuit fails.

But Sky – whose daughter is now a mum of three aged 38 – insists: “He is playing a game and he is bluffing.

“He doesn’t have a strong hand. Do you think my daughter wants to go through this stuff?

“She has kids. Do you think she wants to go back there after all that happened?

“No. She is doing it because it’s right. It’s ridiculous for him to say that Virginia’s hands are unclean or she has skeletons in her closet, or whatever.”

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incomin...ized-horse.jpg

Virginia pictured as a child with her dad

Sky also addresses the hold he fears American financier Epstein had over Virginia, saying: “She was a 17-year-old girl and Epstein had bargained her out to Andrew and told her, ‘You do this, or else. You have to go with him and sleep with him and do whatever he needs, or else. We can hurt you or your family.’

“I think they put that over her head all the time. He [Andrew] is also trying to say he doesn’t even know who Virginia is.

“Yet there’s the picture with her, him and Ghislaine Maxwell, together. I believe a jury won’t believe him. That’s why Virginia wants a jury trial.”

Virginia claims she was trafficked to Andrew and forced to have sex with him on three occasions.

She says this amounts to rape, sexual assault and battery and is suing for unspecified damages, thought to be in the millions of pounds.

Sky, a retired maintenance manager, goes on: “Financially is the only way she can hurt him. Virginia has tried everything so, monetarily, that’s the only way to go.

“How else are you going to hurt him? You’re going to send him to jail?

“No. He will be protected, he will never see a jail. If he would have just apologised, she wouldn’t have been doing this. Because then he would have admitted it. When it actually comes down to it, he might settle out of court just to stop all this stuff coming out.
But either way, it’s going to hurt him.”

In the court papers, Andrew admitted he first met Epstein “in or around 1999”, but denied that Maxwell was a “close friend”.

He said he lacks sufficient information to deny or confirm they were photographed “at numerous social events together”.

And he further claimed he has insufficient information to know if he sent emails to Maxwell in 2015 saying he had “some specific questions to ask you about Virginia”. Sky also hit back at the suggestion Maxwell was not a close friend, saying: “That’s a joke. She is in the same picture with him and Virginia and they are at her place.”

Sky once worked at Donald Trump’s Palm Beach resort Mar-a-Lago, where Virginia first met Maxwell, now 60.

The daughter of late newspaper tycoon Robert Maxwell was found guilty in New York last month of recruiting underage girls for Epstein – who killed himself in a cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. Maxwell faces up to 65 years in jail.

Prince Andrew's Response

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incomin...re-lawsuit.jpg

Welcoming the verdicts, Sky went on: “I was so glad because she is the one who recruited my daughter.

“If it wasn’t for her none of this would have happened to Virginia.”

Andrew’s latest motion was filed after he failed to have the civil case dismissed by a court in New York.

It is now in “the discovery phase” with witnesses being called by both parties to be named by May 13.

And the judge overseeing proceedings has indicated he wants the trial to be held before the end of the year.

That prompted fears it could wreck the 95-year-old Queen’s Jubilee year.

Andrew is stepping back from public life and has been stripped of his military titles.

Sky said: “The Queen has kind of disowned him. I think it’s great.”

Prince Andrew Airbrushed' From Public Life as Portrait Ditched by Regiments He Once Led

Prince Andrew’s portrait has been taken down by regiments he once led.

The move at three HQs is yet another sign of the Duke of York being airbrushed from public life.

It follows the decision to strip Andrew of his 13 forces titles as he battles a US sex abuse civil case.

Andrew strongly denies wrongdoing. But after losing his roles, his social media pages were deleted and his section on the royal website edited.

A senior defence chief said today: “This is yet more evidence of the duke’s fall from grace.”

Sources say pictures and paintings of the duke dressed in military finery have been removed from the officers’ and sergeants’ messes of the Grenadier Guards, the Royal Irish Regiment, The Royal Highland Fusiliers and the Royal Lancers.

He is no longer toasted at regimental dinners and all links with units he once represented have been axed.

Our source added: “The duke has been the master of his downfall.

“His inability to accept *sensible advice shows a real sense of detachment.”

One member of the Royal Irish Regiment said: “There is enormous relief. His *association had become an embarrassment.”

Some regiments have also signalled to Buckingham Palace that they want a say in which royal becomes the next colonel in chief.

A source said: “This must be a once in a lifetime event. We want someone who will stay the course.”

Regiments have written to serving and former members informing them that Prince Andrew has been stripped of the rank of colonel in chief.

The Grenadier Guards were told the colonelcy had been returned to the Queen “with immediate effect”.

The letter, from Lieutenant General Roly Walker, went on: “I am sure you will all offer a personal ‘Three Cheers’ for the Colonel, an appointment She first held in 1942.”

He added: “Buckingham Palace have informed me that the Colonelcy, along with the duke’s other titles and affiliations, will be reallocated to another member of the Royal Family, but clarified it will not be returned to The Duke of York.”

Prince Andrew denies recent reports that he is planning to “call Kevin Spacey as witness in civil trial” in a bid to clear his name.

Lawyers for Virginia Giuffre - Prince Andrew's accuser in the case - had requested help to obtain testimony from Robert Olney.

Mr Olney previously worked for the prince as his equerry.

Prince Andrew, 61, has consistently denied Ms Giuffre's allegations.

She says the duke sexually assaulted her on three occasions when she was 17 and being trafficked by the late financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Epstein, a convicted sex offender, died in prison in 2019 while awaiting a sex trafficking trial.

Ms Giuffre's lawyers say Mr Olney's name and phone number were in the contacts book of Epstein and that the former assistant would have knowledge of his relationship with Prince Andrew.

US judge Lewis A Kaplan released his correspondence sent to London's High Court, formally asking for assistance in the civil case brought by Ms Giuffre, on Monday evening,

The request, under an international legal convention between co-operating courts, means that the British court must now decide whether to become involved in Prince Andrew's battle.

In the letter to Senior Master Elizbeth Fontaine, the official who manages requests from foreign courts for assistance, Judge Kaplan said any evidence obtained from Mr Olney would be used in Ms Giuffre's civil damages claim against the prince.

As Prince Andrew's former equerry, Judge Kaplan said Mr Olney was likely to have "relevant information" about travel to and from Epstein's properties and about the duke's relationship with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, who was found guilty last month of grooming underage girls.

The judge said that if his request was accepted, Mr Olney should be questioned about any communications that touch on Ms Giuffre, given that Prince Andrew claims he has never met her or sexually abused her
.

He has also sent a request asking for a statement to be taken from Shukri Walker, who has said she saw Prince Andrew at Tramps night club in London in March 2001 with a young woman who may have been Ms Giuffre.

Virginia Giuffre, now 38 is living in Australia

Two more requests have been sent to the Australian attorney general, fulfilling applications from Prince Andrew's team.

The first is a request for Australian authorities to take a statement from Robert Giuffre, Ms Giuffre's husband, concerning what she may have told him in the past. The second is a request to obtain the co-operation of Ms Giuffre's therapist Dr Judith Lightfoot.

The judge asked for Mr Giuffre's testimony to include how he met his wife, his discussions with her about Andrew, her alleged childhood trauma and abuse, and her relationship with Epstein and Maxwell.

The letter also asks for his testimony to include all claims Ms Giuffre has made against the duke, her alleged emotional and psychological harm and damages, her role in trafficking and recruiting young girls for Epstein and the Giuffre household's finances.

A separate letter to Dr Lightfoot has asked her evidence to include Ms Giuffre's medical treatment and diagnosis, as well as issues discussed during their sessions and claims made about Prince Andrew.

It also seeks testimony on Dr Lightfoot's opinions of the alleged psychological harm suffered by Ms Giuffre, a theory of false memories and the consequences of her childhood trauma.

Judge Kaplan has requested that the testimony of all four witnesses be completed by 29 April.

Earlier this month, Buckingham Palace stripped Prince Andrew of his military titles and patronages, and said he would contest the case as a private individual.

The Judge presiding over the civil suit brought against the Duke of York has requested that the former assistant, Robert Olney, give evidence

.

Prince Andrew is being sued by Virginia Giuffre, claiming she was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein to have sex with the Duke when she was 17 years old.

The Duke of York denies all the allegations against him.

Judge Lewis A Kaplan has written to the Senior Master of the Queen's Bench Division in an effort to get Mr Olney to testify regarding communication between Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epsiten, Ghislaine Maxwell and Ms Giuffre as well as his travel to Epstein’s various properties.

Last month, Ms Giuffre’s lawyers had requested Mr Olney’s testimony as well as one potential witness based in Britain.

Judge Kaplan also wrote to the High Court requesting to hear the testimony of Shukri Walker, a UK based woman who claims to have seen the Duke and Ms Giuffre in Tramp nightclub in London in March 2001.

Ms Giuffre’s husband Robert and her psychologist Dr Judith Lightfoot have also been asked to provide testimony.

For his part, Mr Giuffre will be asked to discuss how he met his wife, any childhood trauma suffered, her relationship with Epstein and Maxwell as well as any occasions on which she mentioned the Duke of York.

Dr Lightfoot will be asked to discuss any medical interactions she has had with Ms Giuffre as well as the theory of false memory.

All four witnesses have been asked to finish giving testimony by April 29.

Massage therapist Emma Gruenbaum claims she had six sessions with Prince Andrew in 2005 and he would always try to "overstep the line", including asking her inappropriate questions

Prince Andrew with the Queen Prince Andrew lives at Royal Lodge on the grounds of Windsor

A massage therapist who regularly treated Prince Andrew in his bedroom claims he was a "constant sex pest".

Emma Gruenbaum, 50, said the Duke of York would often ask about her love life and tried to hug her at the end of sessions, held in Royal Lodge, Windsor Great Park.

She claimed she swore at the Queen's second son, 61, after he made a comment about her bum and after another remark told him: "It’s none of your f***ing business."

It comes as Andrew's legal team claimed his sex-case accuser Virginia Giuffre - who alleges he forced her to have sex when she was underage - "may suffer from false memories".

The Duke is facing a civil jury trial later this year in New York after the law suit was filed.

He denies any wrongdoing.

Ms Gruenbaum told the Sun : "I don’t want to sit by and not speak out about the way he was towards me as he calls Virginia delusional."

She also claimed Andrew insisted on being naked apart from his own towels and demanded the full body massages were carried out in his bedroom despite her objections.

And alleged within minutes of their first session asked her about her sex life.

Ms Gruenbaum was a sports massage therapist in Surrey when she started treating the Duke's ex-wife Sarah Ferguson in 2005 - who in turn recommended Andrew get in touch.

She said she was not vetted by staff at Buckingham Palace - as far as she knew - and had six sessions with Andrew from that summer.

She had several high-profile clients but said Andrew was "very different" from the start.

Ms Gruenbaum said she was called and invited by the Duke's secretary to the Lodge on a Sunday afternoon, which was "unusual".

She claimed she arrived for the session at around 6pm but rather than use her own table, was told she must use one of Andrew's.

After being led by a staff member to a master bedroom she claimed she said she was "not really comfortable" and complained the table was too high and would mean "massaging at boob level".

Ms Gruenbaum was allegedly told "not to make a fuss" before she heard Andrew say behind her: "Hey nice a****. Do you take it up the a***?"

A massage therapist claims Prince Andrew was inappropriate during their sessions

She said she turned to find the prince "eyeball to eyeball" with her and the atmosphere became "really weird" - with the Duke making constant anal sex jokes and asking when she last had sex.

For each of the half a dozen sessions they had, Andrew’s office sent cheques to Ms Gruenbaum’s home address including a compliment slip from the Duke.

The visits were almost weekly for two months and then she stopped getting calls from his staff to make appointments.

“Every time I saw him he would try to overstep the line," she said. "His advances weren’t working and I think that his patience ran out."

Prince Andrew and Virginia Giuffre Reach Secret Out-of-Court Settlement in Sex Case

A document submitted to a US court said: "Virginia Giuffre and Prince Andrew have reached an out of court settlement"

"Prince Andrew intends to make a substantial donation to Ms. Giuffre's charity in support of victims' rights.

The Duke of York and Virginia Giuffre have reached a “settlement in principle” in the civil sex claim filed in the US, court documents show.

Ms Giuffre alleges she was forced by Jeffrey Epstein and Maxwell to have sex with the Duke on three occasions after being trafficked by the pair.

Ms Giuffre included the infamous photo in her complaint against Prince Andrew, claiming she was forced to have sex with him on the night the image was taken - when she was 17.

Andrew has denied Giuffre’s claims.

A document submitted to a US court said: "Virginia Giuffre and Prince Andrew have reached an out of court settlement.

"The parties will file a stipulated dismissal upon Ms Giuffre's receipt of the settlement (the sum of which is not being disclosed).

"Prince Andrew has never intended to malign Ms Giuffre's character, and he accepts that she has suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks.

"It is known that Jeffrey Epstein trafficked countless young girls over many years. Prince Andrew regrets his association with Epstein, and commends the bravery of Ms Giuffre and other survivors in standing up for themselves and others.

"He pledges to demonstrate his regret for his association with Epstein by supporting the fight against the evils of sex trafficking, and by supporting its victims."

Earlier this month it emerged that Ms Giuffre had agreed to face Prince Andrew's lawyers for a deposition in her sexual assault case against the royal.

The deposition was due to take place in April and The Duke of York's lawyers Andrew Brettler and Melissa Lerner were expected to question her about her allegations against him.

The news came after it was reported Prince Andrew was due to give evidence under oath next month as part of the civil sex assault case against him.

It was reported the Duke of York would face a deposition on March 10 in London, in what has been described as a neutral location.

Andrew's deposition was set to be conducted by Ms Giuffre's lawyers, David Boies and Sigrid McCawley, and expected to last two days, according to the Telegraph.

The Mirror told this week how an order for flags to be flown in honour of Prince Andrew’s birthday has been scrapped in the latest humiliation for the disgraced royal.

The decision – taken in consultation with Buckingham Palace – means Government buildings will not be expected to raise the Union Flag when the Duke of York turns 62.

While it is encouraged that buildings should always fly the flag, on some days, like the Queen’s birthday, it is compulsory.

Until this week, these days included February 19, the Duke of York’s birthday – but it has now quietly been removed from Civil Service guidance.

This is a continuation of the letter regarding the settlement

"He pledges to demonstrate his regret for his association with Epstein by supporting the fight against the evils of sex trafficking, and by supporting its victims."

Prince Andrew has also avoided having to give evidence under oath - as he was originally meant to face a deposition on March 10 in London, before the case was settled today.

This civil case had become a headache for the disgraced Duke.

The Mirror recently reported that plans to fly flags in honour of Prince Andrew’s birthday were scrapped.

The decision – taken in consultation with Buckingham Palace – means Government buildings will not be expected to raise the Union Flag when the Duke of York turns 62 on Saturday.

Furthermore, his family have appeared to distance themselves from him after Prince Charles reportedly requested his little brother Andrew stay away from Windsor Castle, it has been claimed.

The future king, 73, allegedly told his younger sibling, 61, to stay "out of the line of sight" and it could mean the Duke of York and ex-wife Sarah Ferguson eventually moving out of Royal Lodge.

And last month, Andrew's mum - the Queen - summoned him to a 90-minute meeting in which he was told he would be stripped of his royal privileges.

Queen To Help Pay For £12m Prince Andrew Settlement With Virginia Giuffre After Forking Out For Duke’s Legal Fees

Virginia Giuffre's Lawyers Request Proof Prince Andrew Can't Sweat Ahead Of Lawsuit

BBC News 16 FEB.2022.

https://images.ladbible.com/resize?t...EWM_Large.jpeg

THE Queen will pay towards the cost of Prince Andrew's settlement to Virginia Giuffre, it was reported last night.

The Duke of York, 61, settled claims he raped and abused Ms Giuffre when she was 17 out of court for an undisclosed sum of money - which has been speculated to be up to £12million.

The 95-year-old monarch - who paid Andrew's legal fees in the run up to yesterday's agreement - will help fund the settlement, according to the Daily Telegraph.

And royal expert Adam Helliker claims the Queen had to cover the cost because Andrew "doesn't have any income".

Mr Helliker told the Sun: "No one has that kind of money but his mother.

"Andrew is not close enough to the Prince of Wales for him to fund that kind of money. He doesn't have any income."

Mr Helliker added that the public will likely take offence to the Queen footing her son's bombshell settlement costs.

Last month, Buckingham Palace announced that the duke would be defending the case as a private citizen', but a number of commentators have claimed that would not stop him having been helped along with money from the Queen’s private wealth.

Andrew receives a Royal Navy pension and the Queen is also thought to fund her son from her £21.7-million-a-year Duchy of Lancaster income, but the figure she gives him is kept private.

David McClure, author of Royal Privilege: The Queen’s True Worth, said a settlement could be 'in the order of several million dollars'.

He told the PA news agency: “That raises the question: ‘does he have the money?'”

There had been reports Andrew had been trying to sell a chalet in the Swiss resort of Verbier which he bought for £13 million in 2014 with his ex-wife, Sarah, Duchess of York.

Mr McClure added: “The very fact he had to sell, it does show he had some money but he didn’t have lots of money.

“So where does the money come from? I think more than likely the Queen.”

He said if money did come from the Queen it's 'more than likely would have come from the Duchy of Lancaster, which is described as the Queen’s private estate'.

He added that the source of any settlement funds to Andrew is of 'tremendous public interest', and called for the royals to 'come clean and say where the money came from'.

One of the documents submitted to the US court read: “Virginia Giuffre and Prince Andrew have reached an out of court settlement.

“The parties will file a stipulated dismissal upon Ms Giuffre’s receipt of the settlement (the sum of which is not being disclosed).

“Prince Andrew intends to make a substantial donation to Ms. Giuffre’s charity in support of victims’ rights.

“Prince Andrew has never intended to malign Ms Giuffre’s character, and he accepts that she has suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks.

“It is known that Jeffrey Epstein trafficked countless young girls over many years.

"Prince Andrew regrets his association with Epstein, and commends the bravery of Ms Giuffre and other survivors in standing up for themselves and others.

“He pledges to demonstrate his regret for his association with Epstein by supporting the fight against the evils of sex trafficking, and by supporting its victims.”

Is There Any Way Back for Prince Andrew?

If Prince Andrew had gone to court in the US to fight it out with Virginia Giuffre, it would have made headlines as tall as a New York skyscraper.

Analysis by Sean Coughlan, Royal Correspondent

That royal disaster zone has been averted by an out-of-court settlement.

But it comes with high costs to Prince Andrew, both financial and reputational, and it will be a long road back before there is any chance of clearing his name in terms of public opinion.

He won't get back any of the royal patronages, military links or the HRH title that were taken away from him.

And the many questions raised by his BBC Newsnight interview - about his connections with Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein and details such as his inability to sweat - will be left unanswered.

Following the announcement of the settlement, Prince Andrew faced a renewed call from the MP for York to give up his association with the city.

"To demonstrate his seriousness in this endeavour, and his respect for those affected by abuse and the people of our city, I would ask that his first act of contrition is to confirm his support for the withdrawal of his ducal title," she said.

Ms Giuffre, who was previously known as Virginia Roberts, claimed she was the victim of sex trafficking and abuse by financier Epstein from the age of 16. Epstein died in prison in 2019 while awaiting a sex trafficking trial.

She said part of the abuse saw her lent out to powerful men, including Prince Andrew, who is the third child of the Queen and ninth in line to the throne.

Ms Giuffre, now 38, claimed the duke, 61, sexually assaulted her on three occasions when she was 17 at Ghislaine Maxwell's home in London, in Epstein's mansion in New York and on Epstein's private island in the US Virgin Islands.

In a 2019 interview with BBC Newsnight, Prince Andrew said he had no memory of ever meeting Ms Giuffre and said her account of their London meeting and sex at a house in Belgravia "didn't happen".

In January, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York ruled that the civil action over him could go ahead.

Buckingham Palace later announced that Prince Andrew's military titles and royal patronages had been returned to the Queen and that he would defend Ms Giuffre's civil case as a "private citizen".

New York attorney Randy Zelin told BBC's Americast podcast that he thought both sides had won.

Mr Zelin said: "Both sides won, both sides got what they wanted, both sides gave a little something up, both sides can hold their heads up high".
Speaking in support of the duke, British socialite Lady Victoria Hervey said she hopes the Royal Family could now focus on the upcoming jubilee celebrations, and that

"Prince Andrew can put these false allegations behind him".

Prince Andrew could still be dragged into the FBI’s probes into Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell and face being interviewed by investigators, legal experts say.

The Duke of York, who this week agreed a £12million settlement with Virginia Giuffre to avoid a civil sex abuse trial in the US, is still understood to be a “person of interest” to federal investigators probing his friends’ crimes.

Lawyer Dr Ann Olivarius, who specialises in cases of civil litigation and sexual harassment, said: “There are no guarantees for Prince Andrew.

“It may be the end of his dealings with Virginia Giuffre, but if the US authorities want to speak to him they will continue to pursue him. It remains a huge diplomatic issue and so far Prince Andrew has not been cooperative.”

The Duke of York agreed a £12million settlement with Virginia Giuffre

During his disastrous BBC’s Newsnight interview in 2019, the Duke promised to cooperate with law enforcement, but has so far stonewalled American investigators who want to interview him as a potential witness.

Dr Olivarius said: “We know in 2018-2019 he has been approached by the FBI and by police and asked to cooperate.

“It is in the written record that he has refused to do so. It is quite an extraordinary thing for a prince, from a country we have a special relationship with allegedly, not to cooperate with a criminal investigation.”

She added: “It is arrogant, it is a slap in the face of the American judicial system and it doesn’t speak well for the monarchy.”

Maxwell, 60, a friend of Andrew’s for more than 30 years, was sentenced to 65 years in jail after being convicted last month of trafficking young girls for Jeffrey Epstein, a billionaire paedophile who killed himself in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex charges.

Maxwell is pinning her hopes on an appeal after a juror in the case gave media interviews after the trial, revealing details about the jury’s deliberations.

Gloria Allred, who represents many of Epstein’s victims, said as part of Andrew’s promise to tackle the “evils of sex trafficking”, which was included in his settlement with Ms Giuffre, he should agree to be interviewed by federal agents or his words would be
“meaningless” and a “face-saving public relations gesture”.

Despite agreeing the settlement, Andrew denies Ms Giuffre’s allegations that she was forced to have sex with him in 2001 when she was 17.

The Queen agreed to help Prince Andrew settle his civil sex case by personally making a £2million donation to Virginia Giuffre’s charity, it can be revealed.

And it has emerged that she is allowing her shamed son to remain as Queen’s Counsellor of State and keep his dukedom and service rank of Vice-Admiral, despite pressure to strip him of all remaining privileges.

Under the terms of the £2m deal arranged by the Queen’s most senior advisors and the Duke of York’s legal team, the Queen agreed to help Andrew as long as she was not connected to any personal payment to Ms Giuffre, it is understood.

A royal source said: “She could not be seen to be making a payment to a victim of sexual assault, who accused her son of being an abuser.

“But a deal was structured in such a way to arrange a sizeable financial contribution to the settlement by way of a charitable donation instead

Jeffrey Epstein's Pal Jean-Luc Brunel Accused of Being Paedophile Found Dead in Prison

Fashion agent and friend of Jeffrey Epstein, Jean-Luc Brunel, 76, was found hanging in his cell in La Santé, in the south of the capital city, in the early hours of Saturday

Jeffrey Epstein’s friend Jean-Luc Brunel

A French fashion agent involved in the Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew sex abuse scandal was today found dead in the prison where he was awaiting trial for raping minors.

Prosecutors in Paris confirmed that Jean-Luc Brunel, 76, was found hanging in his cell in La Santé, in the south of the capital city, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

"A night patrol found his lifeless body at about 1am," said an investigating source.

"A judicial enquiry has been launched, and early evidence points to suicide."

It was in December 2020 that Brunel was indicted after two days of interviews by an examining magistrate and specialist police from an anti-paedophilia unit.

He was arrested at the city’s Charles de Gaulle airport while trying to board a plane to Dakar, Senegal, telling detectives "I’m going on holiday".

Brunel was suspected of having been part of a global underage sex ring organised by late American multi-billionaire paedophile Epstein, who took his own life in 2019, while awaiting trial for numerous sex crimes.

Others involved in the ring include Epstein’s ex-girlfriend, the British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, 60, who is currently in prison in the US after being found guilty of sex trafficking.

A French judicial enquiry into Brunel’s conduct was opened in August 2019, when prosecutors heard allegations that Brunel and the Queen’s second son shared a lover.

Virginia Roberts Giuffre, an American, has told lawyers she was employed as a ‘sex slave’ when she was forced to sleep with the Duke after being trafficked to him at least three times when she was 17 and 18.

Prince Andrew has since agreed a civil settlement with Ms Giuffre, thought to be worth some £12million.

Ms Roberts Giuffre has also said she had "sexual relations with Brunel on several occasions", between the ages of 16 and 19, according to legal papers filed in America and France.

Both Prince Andrew and Brunel vehemently deny these claims, with the Prince considered a key witness who both the Americans and the French want to interview in person.

The rape of a minor is punishable by up to 15 years in prison in France, while aggravated sexual harassment comes with a three-year prison sentence and a fine equivalent to around £40,000.

Brunel, who denied any wrongdoing, was being held in custody until a criminal trial on a date to be fixed.

Brunel was also suspected of using his contacts in the fashion industry to provide victims to Epstein and his friends.

He is said to have flown three sisters from a Paris housing estate to America so they could be abused by Epstein as "a birthday present".

Prince Andrew Accuser Could be Made to Reveal Settlement Details in Court

The Telegraph UK 20 FEB 2022

“In an effort to avoid further motion practice on issue relating to damages, Prof. Dershowitz asks the Court to clarify that Plaintiff shall be required to produce documents sufficient to disclose all details of her settlements with Prince Andrew and the Estate of Jeffrey Epstein, including the amounts of those settlements,” Mr Dershowitz’s lawyers said in a filing on Wednesday.

A day earlier, news of Prince Andrew’s settlement was made public. The Telegraph revealed the figure to be £12 million – £10million for Ms Giuffre, 38, and £2million for her sex abuse charity.

Legal experts speculated that Mr Dershowitz may be looking to gauge the amount of compensation he should seek should he win his own case, which is expected to be heard in the Eastern District of New York next year.

The Duke of York and Ms Giuffre are believed to have agreed to a non-disclosure agreement, meaning neither party can discuss the case or the claims in public.

However, it is unclear if they will be released after the conclusion of celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, as has been reported.

When Daily Mail Australia spoke to Ms Roberts by telephone recently she was polite and initially chatty but soon referred all inquiries to a public relations firm in New York.

-Former Royal Cops' Anger at Prince Andrew Golf Ball Claims

Former Royal Protection Officer Says Prince Andrew Has Been Protected

Royal News Channel

A FORMER royal protection officer has claimed he would have knocked out Prince Andrew if the Duke had asked him to pick up his golf balls.

FORMER protection officer to Princess Diana Ken Wharfe said Prince Andrew "treated uniform staff with contempt" as he claimed he was the victim of an "embarrassing" interaction with the Duke of York while on duty.

Ken Wharfe explained how he heard from other royal staff, including his own interactions, that Prince Andrew was prone to "arrogance" towards them. Mr Wharfe suggested Andrew was "not the most popular" Royal Family member and could predict if a poll was held for royal staffers he would have a "fairly good idea" what the result would be.

The former security officer also shared his own interaction with Andrew which involved an "embarrassing" moment on a plane.

Prince Andrew Breaks Cover For First Time Three Weeks After Settling Sex Abuse Case

Prince Andrew breaks cover for first time three weeks after settling sex abuse case

Prince Andrew has been pictured for the first time since it was announced he had reached an out of court settlement with his accuser Virginia Giuffre, who had brought a civil sex abuse claim against him

Last month, on February 15, it was announced he had reached an out of court settlement with his accuser Virginia Giuffre - but he has not been seen since.

However, today he was pictured driving his Range Rover after spending around an hour at Windsor Castle, where the Queen is in residence.

The settlement means he will not face a civil jury trial over allegations that he sexually abused her on three separate occasions when she was 17. Andrew has continuously denied all of Ms Giuffre's claims.

It was announced last month that the Duke of York and Ms Giuffre had reached a “settlement in principle” in her bombshell civil sex claim filed in the US - said to be £12million.

Court documents show the disgraced royal will make a "substantial donation" to Ms Giuffre's charity, which supports victims' rights.

A document submitted to a US court said: "Prince Andrew has never intended to malign Ms Giuffre's character, and he accepts that she has suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks.

"It is known that Jeffrey Epstein trafficked countless young girls over many years. Prince Andrew regrets his association with Epstein and commends the bravery of Ms Giuffre and other survivors in standing up for themselves and others.

"He pledges to demonstrate his regret for his association with Epstein by supporting the fight against the evils of sex trafficking, and by supporting its victims."

Meanwhile, it was reported that the Queen agreed to help Andrew settle his civil sex case by personally making a £2million donation to Ms Giuffre’s charity.

Andrew settled his civil sex case three weeks ago

“But a deal was structured in such a way to arrange a sizeable financial contribution to the settlement by way of a charitable donation instead.”

Yesterday, it was also reported that Prince Charles is lending Andrew millions to pay the settlement.

There had been growing calls for clarity on exactly how Andrew will fund the reported £12million payout, with demands that none of it be paid from public money.

David McClure, author of The Queen’s True Worth, told the Mirror last month: “The sums involved in Prince Andrew’s settlement are extraordinary so the public do have a right to know if public money, or indeed the Queen’s personal funds, were used. But I wouldn’t hold your breath.”

Meanwhile, it has also been reported that the monarch is allowing her shamed son to remain as Queen’s Counsellor of State and keep his dukedom and service rank of Vice-Admiral, despite pressure to strip him of all remaining privileges.

Jeffrey Epstein's Caribbean Properties including infamous 'Paedophile Island' where Prince Andrew is claimed to have stayed goes up for sale

The Caribbean island on which Prince Andrew is claimed to have visited his paedophile pal Jeffrey Epstein has gone on sale.

Two properties that were once at the centre of the disgraced financier's real estate portfolio are being listed for £97 million.

Situated in the US Virgin Islands, Great St James and Little St James islands have been put on the market by Epstein's estate.

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/news/ar...S188460781.jpg

According to reports in the US, money from their sale will help fund outstanding lawsuits filed by the late sex offender's victims and the costs of running the properties.

Little St James is where the Duke of York's sex accuser Virginia Giuffre claimed in court he took part in a nine girl orgy with Epstein.

The Prince vehemently denied her claims.

Jeffrey Epstein arrived in the Virgin Islands in 1998, when he paid £6 million for Little St. James, a roughly 70-acre island. He called it Little St Jeff's.

Ms Giuffre wrote in evidence to a Florida Court on January 19, 2015: "The third time I had sex with Andy was in an orgy on Epstein’s private island in the US Virgin Islands.

"I was around 18 at the time. Epstein, Andy, approximately eight other young girls, and I had sex together. The other girls all seemed and appeared to be under the age of 18 and didn’t really speak English."

Ms Giuffre added Epstein “laughed about the fact they couldn’t really communicate, saying that they are the ‘easiest’ girls to get along with”.

The court filings were made in a civil defamation lawsuit filed by Ms Giuffre against since-convicted child sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell.

The mum-of-three would later go on to sue Andrew in August 2021 for sex abuse in New York. The case was settled last month with a reported £12 million out of court settlement paid to Ms Giuffre by the royal.

Before his jail cell suicide in August 2019, Epstein once described the United States Virgin Islands as "my favourite place to be."

It became a haven for him and his associates, Epstein's victims claim to have been abused there.

The financier's private 'Lolita Express' jet would fly him to St Thomas's international airport, where he would board a helicopter that flew him to his Little St. James and Great St. James islands.

Once there, he was known to entertain famous friends and, his accusers have claimed in court filings, trafficked underage girls for sex.

Epstein arrived in the Virgin Islands in 1998, when he paid £6 million for Little St. James, a roughly 70-acre island. He called it Little St Jeff's.

In 2016, he bought the larger Great St. James for £13.25 million.

The financier's private 'Lolita Express' jet would fly him to St Thomas's international airport, where he would board a helicopter that flew him to his Little St. James and Great St. James islands.

Over the years, he spent millions more developing the islands, including building a villa with a library, a Japanese bathhouse and a movie theatre.

When he was there, he cultivated close ties to the islands' political and financial elite. He once employed a governor's wife.

Epstein hired an architecture firm owned by the same governor's uncle.

He also donated money, sponsored scholarships and even gave dozens of computers to give away.

A lawsuit filed by prosecutors in the US Virgin Islands two years ago alleged Epstein used his two secluded islands to engage in a nearly two-decade conspiracy to traffic and abuse girls as young as 11 years old.

According to reports in the US, money from their sale will help fund outstanding lawsuits filed by the late sex offender's victims and the costs of running the propertie

According to the complaint, he and others organised a search party to catch a 15-year-old victim trying to swim away and kept her passport to keep her captive.

From 2001 to 2018, Epstein and his aides, among them Ghislaine Maxwell, flew girls from other countries to the Virgin Islands on the multimillionaire's private plane.

Epstein, 66, killed himself in a New York federal jail in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

Maxwell, 60, was convicted in December of sex trafficking and other charges for helping Epstein sexually abuse multiple teenage girls from 1994 to 2004.

She is scheduled to be sentenced in June, although she has filed a motion for a retrial after a juror failed to reveal his own sexual abuse in a questionnaire before being selected to be on the panel.

Ghislaine Maxwell in an embrace with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein

Convicted child sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell has been dealt a bitter blow after a judge denied her motion for a new trial.

The British socialite will now face sentencing on June 28, when she could be imprisoned for up to 60 years.

The 60-year-old had moved to have her conviction vacated after it emerged a juror had failed to reveal he had been sexually abused as a child when asked.

Scotty David went on to say in a series of media interviews how his own experience helped shaped the juror’s verdict once he revealed it to them.

Maxwell was convicted of sex trafficking and other charges for helping paedophile Jeffrey Epstein sexually abuse multiple teenage girls from 1994 to 2004.

In her ruling, Judge Alison Nathan wrote of Scotty David’s omission that although “highly unfortunate”, it was “not deliberate”.

She added: "The court further concludes that Juror 50 harboured no bias towards the defendant and could serve as a fair and impartial juror."

Nathan added that the requirements for a new trial were not met.

“The defendant's motion for a new trial is therefore denied,” she added.

The decision came just hours after Maxwell’s lawyers ask for the judgment to be delayed after her attorneys were made aware of a “bombshell revelation” by a juror.

Before the motion was denied her team filed a letter to the New York Court saying they had discovered the juror had been interviewed for a new documentary.

The Brit’s lawyer Bobbi Sternum wrote: “We write to make the Court aware of new information concerning Juror 50 that may impact Ghislaine Maxwell’s pending motion for a new trial.

“Paramount Plus will be airing an additional interview with Juror 50 in an original series titled “Ghislaine – Partner in Crime.”

The trailer announced a “bombshell revelation” from Juror 50 in his “only in-depth interview.”

They added: “We have been unable to access the series in order to review the content of Juror’s 50 statements nor have we learned whether the interview was recorded before he testified at the March 8 hearing.

"The series was scheduled to air on March 29, but we have learned that Paramount is holding off airing the series pending the Court’s ruling concerning Juror 50.

“We bring to the Court’s attention this previously undisclosed interview and request a stay of any pending ruling review of the interview by the Court and counsel.”

Prince Andrew and his former wife Sarah Ferguson were allegedly paid 'substantial sums' - including a reported 'gift' of more than £750,000 - by a Turkish millionaire.

Deputy High Court judge David Halpern named the royals in a recent ruling on a dispute between millionaire Nebahat Isbilen and businessman Selman Turk.

Mrs Isbilen had needed assistance moving her assets out of Turkey after her husband was imprisoned there owing to his "political affiliations", the judge had been told.

Mr Turk, a businessman and former banker, had agreed to help Mrs Isbilen move her assets out of reach of the Turkish authorities.

She claims Mr Turk tricked her into giving Andrew £750,000 "by way of payment for assistance" with getting a passport, the court heard.

The judge was told that "substantial sums" had been paid to Andrew and his wife.

There is no suggestion of any wrongdoing on their part.

Andrew has since repaid the cash after she alleged it was a scam, Mail Online reports.

Mrs Isbilen has alleged that Mr Turk "breached fiduciary obligations he owed to her" and "advances claims in deceit".

She claims he "dishonestly misappropriated" $50million (£38million) of her money, the High Court heard.

Mr Turk is fighting the case.

The litigation is ongoing and has been heard at the High Court in London. A number of preliminary rulings have been published.

Judge Halpern said a lawyer representing Mrs Isbilen had told him, in an affidavit, that information had emerged to show evidence given by Mr Turk was "misleading".

The money to Prince Andrew was a payment for help he allegedly provided, The Royal Court of Justice heard

He said solicitor Jonathan Tickner had told him how evidence showed that "money was used for purposes unconnected with Mrs Isbilen, e.g., substantial sums were paid to Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and to Sarah, Duchess of York".

Judge Halpern said barrister Dan McCourt Fritz, who represents Mrs Isbilen, had told him that the "total sums which his client claims were misappropriated" amounted to some 50 million US dollars (about £38 million).

"Mr Turk has provided explanations for approximately two thirds of these sums, most of which have been allegedly spent on professional or other fees or lost in bad investments," the judge added, in his ruling.

"No explanation at all has been given for the remaining one third."

Prince Harry Doesn’t Want Camilla to be Queen, Royal Author Tina Brown Claims

Explosive new book claims 10-year-old Ghislaine Maxwell told house guests of father’s ‘sadistic’ physical abuse

The Telegraph UK 13 APR 2022

Jeffrey Epstein repeatedly called Prince Andrew “an idiot” behind his back, according to a bombshell new book by Tina Brown.

Brown — a high-powered journalist who previously edited Vanity Fair, The New Yorker and the Daily Beast — details the transactional friendship between the pedophile and the prince in her tome, “The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor – the Truth and the Turmoil,” set for release later this month.

“Privately, Epstein told people that Andrew was an idiot, but — to him — a useful one,” Brown writes in the book, excerpted in the Telegraph this weekend.

“A senior royal, even if tainted, is always a potent magnet abroad,” Brown continues. “Epstein confided to a friend that he used to fly the Duke of York to obscure foreign markets, where governments were obliged to receive him, and Epstein went along as HRH’s investment adviser. With Andrew as frontman, Epstein could negotiate deals with these (often) shady players.”

https://nypost.com/wp-content/upload...ein.jpg?w=1024
Andrew is pictured second from left with Melania Trump (far left), Gwendolyn Beck and Jeffrey Epstein at Mar-a-Lago in 2000.

Epstein died behind bars in 2019 while awaiting trial on child sex-trafficking charges.

Andrew — who was famously photographed strolling with the pedophile in 2011 following Epstein’s first release from prison — has denied knowing anything about Epstein’s illegal behavior.

Back in January, Queen Elizabeth stripped the prince of his military and royal titles after a Manhattan judge allowed a sexual assault lawsuit against the disgraced royal to move forward.

The suit was filed by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, 38, who has long claimed that Epstein made her have “disgusting” sex with the royal three times, starting in 2001 when she was just 17.

Andrew’s lawyers say he “unequivocally denies Giuffre’s false allegations against him.” He has never been charged criminally.

Maxwell Fathers’ Sadistic Physical Abuse

Ghislaine Maxwell in 2013 in New York City.

A 10-year-old Ghislaine Maxwell told house guests her father beat her with objects of her choosing — and Jeffrey Epstein referred to Prince Andrew as his useful “idiot,” according to an explosive upcoming book about the British royal family.

Excerpts from author Tina Brown’s “The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor — the Truth and the Turmoil,” published Monday in the Daily Telegraph, tell how Epstein, a New York financier, used his relationship with the prince to open doors in international circles and further enrich himself.

The book, on shelves in two weeks, also explores how Maxwell’s unorthodox upbringing as the privileged daughter of media mogul and fraudster Robert Maxwell helped shape her twisted relationship with the convicted sex predator.

The child abuse claims in “The Palace Papers” are attributed to a British newspaper heiress who knew Maxwell as a girl.

“(Eleanor) Berry noticed an odd-shaped hairbrush, a strap, a slipper and other implements laid out on the child’s dressing room table. Ghislaine said, rather proudly, ‘(This) is what daddy uses to beat me with. But he always allows me to choose which one I want,’” reads the excerpt.

“In the sadistic offering of power to the powerless, asking her, in essence, to procure herself for her father, one can better understand how Ghislaine fell under the spell of a man like Epstein.”

Brown’s book describes Maxwell, who started dating the multimillionaire Epstein when she was 30 after moving to New York City, as “madly in love” with the late serial pedophile.

“Their relationship quickly turned transactional: Epstein made the money, and Ghislaine made the introductions,” an excerpt reads.

“Unable to hold his sexual attention, she found a way to keep him at her side by recruiting ‘nubiles’ (as she called them) to service his insatiable needs.”

A jury convicted Maxwell on Dec. 29 of aiding Epstein’s sex trafficking scheme from 1994 to 2002. She faces up to 65 years in prison when sentenced in June.

The former socialite’s lawyers argued at trial that she was a victim of Epstein’s manipulation and that prosecutors scapegoated her after his 2019 suicide.

The Queen’s second son was Maxwell’s “biggest catch” for Epstein, Brown writes, and his relationship with the royal was also transactional.

“Privately, Epstein told people that Andrew was an idiot, but — to him — a useful one. A senior royal, even if tainted, is always a potent magnet abroad. Epstein confided to a friend that he used to fly the Duke of York to obscure foreign markets, where governments were obliged to receive him, and Epstein went along as [his] investment adviser,” reads an excerpt.

“With Andrew as frontman, Epstein could negotiate deals with these (often) shady players.”

Andrew, who was accused in a civil case of having sex with one of Epstein’s alleged underage sex trafficking victims, visited the multimillionaire in New York with such regularity that Epstein gave him a “grandly decorated” Upper East Side guest suite nicknamed “the Britannica Suite,” according to Brown, founder of the Daily Beast and a former Vanity Fair editor in chief.

“Epstein made Andrew feel he had joined the big time — the deals, the girls, the plane, the glittering New York world, where he wasn’t seen as a full-grown man still dependent on his mother’s Privy Purse strings or on the harsh pecking order of the Palace” Brown wrote. “The Duke was always as oversexed as a boob-ogling adolescent.”

A spokesperson for the Maxwell family did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Prince Andrew Stripped of Honorary Freedom of York Title After Unanimous Vote

Councillors voted for the removal of Prince Andrew's honorary 'freedom of York' title following his out of court settlement with his accuser, Virginia Giuffre, earlier this year

BBC News 29 APR 2022

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incomin...ster-Abbey.jpg

Prince Andrew has been stripped of his honorary 'freedom of York' title in the latest blow for the disgraced Duke, following a unanimous vote by York City Council.

Councillors voted for the removal in an Extraordinary Council Meeting held on Wednesday evening at the York Racecourse.

It comes after the Prince earlier this year reached an out of court settlement with his accuser, Virginia Giuffre, in a civil sex claim filed in the US.

It means that he has now avoided a potentially explosive trial with the settlement said to be £12million. Andrew has continually denied the allegations against him.

Many councillors discussing the motion to remove Prince Andrew's Honorary Freedom of the City of York in the meeting this evening noted that the move was merely a starting point for the changes they felt should be made.

A number of the councillors and members of public who spoke at the meeting at York Racecourse on Wednesday called for either the Queen or the Government to strip Andrew of the title Duke of York, thereby removing what Labour councillor Aisling Musson called: "This stain of an association with this city."

He is the first person ever to have the Freedom of the City removed, councillors were told.

There were two formal abstentions - from the Lord Mayor and Lord Mayor elect.

Lib Dem Darryl Smalley, City of York Council's executive member for culture, leisure and communities and proposer of the motion, said the Honorary Freedom of York was the "highest honour" that the city could bestow on those who represented the "very best" of York.

"The honour is held by many notable and accomplished people who carry it with pride and responsibly," he said.

"Having been stripped of his military roles and royal patronages by the Queen, we believe that it is right to remove all links that Prince Andrew still has with our great city.

"The removal of this honorary title sends the right message that we as a city stand with victims of abuse."

The council had previously debated at length its commitment to stand with victims of sexual abuse and work to end violence against females, Mr Smalley added.

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incomin...re-lawsuit.jpg

Councilors said the motion did not go far enough

"As such, we believe it's appropriate it is inappropriate for Prince Andrew to retain his ambassadorial title that is so intrinsically linked to our city and finally, the next logical step would be for Prince Andrew to do the right thing and relinquish the title," he said.

"If he fails to do so, the Government and Buckingham Palace must step in to remove his title to finally end Prince Andrew's connection to York."

First to speak from the public gallery on Wednesday evening was Gwen Swinburn, who said: "Mr Andrew Windsor is an utter disgrace.

"He brings shame and reputational damage everywhere he goes, including to our city.

"The motion to withdraw his status goes nowhere near far enough. He needs to be be declared persona non grata in York.

"You (councillors) need to be starting whatever process is needed to remove his duke title."

Prince Andrew has faced calls to give up his ducal title for some time.

Labour MP Rachael Maskell, who represents York Central, says Andrew must remove his association with the city in light of the out-of-court settlement reached with Virginia Giuffre.

She said: “Although it is a relief that Prince Andrew has finally acknowledged and expressed regret for his close association with a convicted sex offender and sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, his long delay in doing so and initial response to the charges and Ms Giuffre have been source of deep hurt and embarrassment to many people across the city.

Maxwell Loses Bid to Toss Sex Trafficking Conviction, as Sentencing Looms

AP. 30 APR 2022.

British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell on Friday lost a bid to overturn her December 2021 conviction on sex trafficking charges, paving the way for her to be sentenced to decades in prison.

Maxwell, 60, who was convicted of helping recruit and sexually abuse girls for deceased financier Jeffrey Epstein to abuse, is scheduled to be sentenced in June.

U.S. Circuit Judge Alison Nathan ruled on Friday that three counts of the guilty verdict were supported by testimony and evidence presented at Maxwell's trial in Manhattan federal court.

Nathan, however, rejected the guilty verdicts reached on two of the counts, reducing the maximum possible sentence faced by Maxwell by 10 years to 55 years behind bars.

Nathan said three of the charges effectively covered the same offense, so upheld only one of those three guilty verdicts.

"This legal conclusion in no way calls into question the factual findings made by the jury," Nathan wrote. "Rather, it underscores that the jury unanimously found - three times over -that the Defendant is guilty of conspiring with Epstein to entice, transport, and traffic underage girls for sexual abuse."

Maxwell was convicted on five of six charges at trial.

Her request to overturn the conviction was separate from an earlier motion, also unsuccessful, for a new trial because of one juror's failure to disclose during jury selection that he had been sexually abused as a child.

Maxwell's lawyers argued that if they had known about the juror's history, they would have struck him from the panel. But Nathan concluded that the juror was not biased against Maxwell and served as a fair and impartial juror.

Rina Oh, 43, filed a court claim against Giuffre in US District Court and said she was 'frozen like a deer' as Giuffre 'touched her without consent' in 2001.

Prince Andrew's accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre is facing sexual assault claims - after another alleged victim of Jeffrey Epstein says the dead pedophile directed Giuffre to abuse her.

The alleged incident was said to have taken place in the massage room of disgraced financier Epstein's townhouse in Manhattan and has come to light as the women are suing each other.

In court filings, Oh's representatives claimed: '[Oh] was surprised when she was called to the massage room to see Epstein, and found Epstein and [Giuffre] waiting for her.

'[Giuffre] then proceeded to touch [Oh] without [Oh's] consent and much to her horror.

'[Oh] did not reciprocate or sexually touch [Giuffre].'

Oh told the New York Post: 'I went into the massage room and [Giuffre] touched me without my consent; she sexually abused me.

Virginia Roberts Giuffre, Prince Andrew's alleged victim, has been accused of sexual assault in court

'I was standing there, frozen like a deer. I did not move. I was in shock. I felt mortified and was uncomfortable.'

Oh said that she was introduced to Epstein after the end of a relationship and that she had once described the pedophile financier as a 'rich, older boyfriend' but now says she was a victim of sexual abuse.

Giuffre's attorney Kat Thomas told the New York Post: 'The allegations of sexual assault against Ms. Giuffre are not true.'

The legal dispute between the two women began when Oh filed a defamation lawsuit against Giuffre after the latter tweeted that Oh 'procured & partook in the abuse of minors' with Epstein.

Oh is seeking $10million in damages.

Giuffre countersued claiming to be 'the victim of the sadomasochist sexual play and physical abuse perpetrated against her by Oh, including cutting, slashing and other physical injuries during the sadomasochist sessions.

Oh denied the allegations to the Post, saying: 'I never cut her leg. I never touched her. I never heard of anyone doing anything like that during my involvement with Jeffrey Epstein.

'I am not that kind of person. I am afraid of needles and faint when my blood gets taken.'

Giuffre recently reached a settlement with Prince Andrew worth a reported $12million after sex trafficking claims.

The prince agreed to pay a huge sum to settle the case before it reached a jury.

Although the agreement contained no formal admission of liability from Andrew, or an apology, it said he now accepted Miss Roberts was a 'victim of abuse' and that he regretted his association with Epstein, the disgraced financier who trafficked countless young girls.

It also said the prince accepted that Miss Roberts, now 38, had been subjected to 'unfair public attacks' and that he had never intended to 'malign her character'.

Millionaire financier Epstein reportedly abused dozens of girls as young as 14 at the opulent property, before his arrest in July 2019.

He reportedly installed hundreds of pinhole cameras throughout the home to spy on his victims in 'private moments' in bathrooms and bedrooms. The house was also said to feature an array of bizarre decor, from an oil painting of Bill Clinton in heels and a blue dress, to a large taxidermy tiger.

The latest development comes as Epstein's accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell is awaiting sentencing - facing 50 years in jail for five charges related to recruiting and trafficking underage girls for Epstein.

Prince Andrew's £18Million Chalet Blow as Ski Resort Asset Frozen Over £1.6m Debt'

Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson entered into a business arrangement with an unnamed couple and the ski chalet was frozen after an alleged £1.6m debt, according to a Swiss newspaper

Prince Andrew’s desperate bid to sell his £18million ski chalet now looks “impossible” after it was frozen as an asset by the Swiss authorities, it has been claimed.

Sources in Verbier, where he and ex-wife Sarah Ferguson own the seven-bedroom property, say the chalet has been placed “under sequestration” due to an alleged £1.6m debt.

According to Le Temps, a Swiss newspaper, Andrew and Fergie entered into a business arrangement with an unnamed couple in the resort and the reported £1.6m debt prompted the sequestration of the property, named Henora.

In February, it emerged that Andrew had found a buyer for the chalet and aimed to use the proceeds to help pay off his sex accuser Virginia Giuffre. He did not accept any liability when he made the settlement.

But the sequestration means the sale of the chalet, which has an indoor pool and sauna, looks in peril.

Geneva law professor Nicolas Jeandin told Le Temps: “A sale is in principle impossible, except with the agreement of the creditor.”

Andrew is understood to be disputing he owes the full £1.6m, but he does not deny an unpaid debt.

A source close to the Duke said: “Talks are underway to resolve the matter. It in no way prevents the sale of the chalet, which is proceeding.”

Removal vans from London firm Abels arrived this week, but sources said the buyer was getting restless.

One warned: “The whole deal could collapse at any moment.”Andrew agreed to pay a reported £12m to Ms Giuffre, who had accused him of sexually assaulting her while she was his paedophile pal Jeffrey Epstein’s sex slave. He vehemently denies the claims.

The brother of shamed former socialite and convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell was stopped from visiting her sister after flying 3,000 miles to New York because the jail was in lockdown due to an incident.

Ian Maxwell had arranged with prison authorities to visit his sister inside the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn when he was told he could not enter the facility.

The 60-year-old former girlfriend of paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein is currently in the jail awaiting sentencing later this month.

Maxwell, who is a close friend of Prince Andrew has only managed one visit by a family member since her arrest.

Ghislaine Maxwell is currently awaiting sentence having been convicted of trafficking young girls for a former boyfriend, paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein

Maxwell is facing 55 years in prison for her role in arranging young girls for Epstein

Speaking to the Telegraph, Mr Maxwell said: 'I flew to New York on Tuesday, stayed the night in Brooklyn and then walked over to the prison on Wednesday, only to discover that the whole prison was in lockdown that had been imposed a few hours earlier.

'The official put a call into the legal office and they said "no". If I had flown from the moon, it would not have made any difference. They were not going to change.'

Mr Maxwell said they would not be able to put a call through to his sister because of the situation inside the men's section of the jail.

He claimed his sister is being held in in-human conditions and is being made a scapegoat.

Ghislaine Maxwell Asks Court For Sex Trafficking Sentence of Well Below 20 Years

The disgraced British socialite’s lawyers argued that she was threatened in jail and cannot be made proxy for Jeffrey Epstein

BBC News 16 JUN 2022

Ghislaine Maxwell’s attorneys argued on Wednesday that the disgraced British socialite should be sentenced to “well below” the 20 years imprisonment that probation authorities have recommended in her New York federal sex-trafficking case.

In a pre-sentencing report, Maxwell’s attorneys provided detailed descriptions of her allegedly perilous conditions in jail, and described an emotionally distressing upbringing, as part of their argument for leniency.

They made the shocking allegation that “an inmate in Ms Maxwell’s unit threatened to kill her, claiming that an additional 20 years’ incarceration would be worth the money she’d receive for murdering Ms Maxwell”.

Jeffrey Epstein,Ghislaine Maxwell<br>FILE - Audrey Strauss, acting U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, points to a photo of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, during a news conference in New York on July 2, 2020.

A judge has declined to throw out Maxwell’s sex trafficking conviction, despite a juror’s failure to disclose he’d been a victim of childhood sexual abuse. U.S. District Judge Alison J. Nathan on Friday, April 1, 2022, refused to order a new trial for Maxwell, who was convicted in December of helping the American millionaire Epstein abuse several teenage girls.

“One of the female inmates in Ms Maxwell’s housing unit told at least three other inmates that she had been offered money to murder Ms Maxwell and that she planned to strangle her in her sleep,” her attorneys claimed.

They also claimed that Maxwell’s father, the late disgraced publishing tycoon Robert Maxwell, was abusive toward her and his other children. “Ghislaine vividly recalls a time when, at age 13, she tacked a poster of a pony on the newly painted wall of her bedroom. Rather than mar the paint with tape, she carefully hammered a thin tack to mount the poster,” the attorneys wrote. “This outraged her father, who took the hammer and banged on Ghislaine’s dominant hand, leaving it severely bruised and painful for weeks to come.”

Maxwell was convicted on 29 December of sex trafficking and related charges for luring girls, some aged just 14, into the late financier Jeffrey Epstein’s orbit, for him to abuse. She insists on her innocence.

Epstein, a convicted sex offender who once counted Prince Andrew and Bill Clinton among his rich and powerful associates, was arrested by federal authorities in July 2019, on sex-trafficking counts. He killed himself while awaiting trial in a New York City federal jail.

Maxwell is scheduled to be sentenced on 28 June and she faces up to 55 years behind bars. However, authorities calculate sentencing recommendations based on guidelines that take into account a variety of factors, such as a person’s criminal history.

The US probation department, which makes sentencing recommendations, has suggested a punishment of 240 months imprisonment. Maxwell’s sentence is ultimately up to the judge.

In asking for a lighter-than-recommended sentence, Maxwell’s lawyers argued that she can’t be a surrogate for Epstein, writing “this Court cannot sentence Ms Maxwell as if she were a proxy for Epstein simply because Epstein is no longer here”.

“Ms Maxwell cannot and should not bear all the punishment for which Epstein should have been held responsible. Ms Maxwell has already experienced a hard time during detention under conditions far more onerous and punitive than any experienced by a typical pretrial detainee, and she is preparing to spend significantly more time behind bars,” they wrote. “Her life has been ruined.”

“Ms Maxwell is not a dangerous criminal or a habitual offender. She is someone who wants nothing more than to live a normal family life – something she was denied because of her association with Epstein and will now almost certainly never have,” they also wrote. “The public does not need to be protected from Ms Maxwell and such considerations should have no weight in determining her sentence.”

They also claimed that her experiences as a youth created susceptibility to Epstein. “She had a difficult, traumatic childhood with an overbearing, narcissistic and demanding father,” they wrote. “It made her vulnerable to Epstein, whom she met right after her father’s death. It is the biggest mistake she made in her life and one that she has not and never will repeat.”

Maxwell’s siblings made additional claims about their father’s impact on her relationship with Epstein, with two writing in a sentencing submission that “we witnessed our father taking Ghislaine under his wing whereby she became over dependent on his approval and vulnerable to his frequent rapid mood swings, huge rages and rejections”.

“This led her to becoming very vulnerable to abusive and powerful men who would be able to take advantage of her innate good nature,” they said. “It is striking that Ghislaine did not show any perverse behaviour before she met Epstein. Nor did she show any after leaving him, which she eventually managed to do.”

“The effect of our father’s psychologically abusive treatment of her, foreshadowed Epstein’s own ability to exploit, manipulate and control her,” they claimed.

Maxwell’s attorneys also insisted that she wasn’t hiding when federal agents arrested her in July 2020, but rather feared for her safety following Epstein’s arrest and death – claiming she had gotten “death threats”.

“Tragically, this experience was not new for Ms Maxwell,” her legal team wrote. “Decades earlier, when Ms Maxwell was just a child and her father was a member of Parliament, UK authorities found a ‘hit list’ of potential kidnapping/assassination targets in a safehouse used by the Irish Republican Army. Ms Maxwell’s name was first on the list.”

Maxwell’s sentencing will take place nearly three months after Judge Alison Nathan rejected her request for a new trial following revelations that a juror in her case did not disclose childhood sexual abuse during jury selection.

Juror No 50, Scotty David, sat for interviews following Maxwell’s trial during which he talked about experiencing childhood sexual abuse. David claimed that he told other jurors about this, in order for them to understand facts from a victim’s point of view.

Nathan questioned David on 8 March about this omission. David, who was granted immunity to testify, claimed that he was distracted while completing the screening questionnaire.

Nathan ruled that she believed David’s explanation – that he had made an “honest mistake” – was true and “that Juror 50 was not biased and would not have been stricken for cause even if he had answered each question on the questionnaire accurately.”

Lawyers Warn Prince Andrew We Will Find You in Bid to Serve New Legal Papers

Lawyer Spencer Kuvin, who acts for Caroline Kaufman, wants a statement from Prince Andrew and is threatening to formally serve him with legal papers in person if necessary

Prince Andrew faces being dragged back into the Jeffery Epstein sex scandal as he attempts a comeback.

A lawyer says the Duke was at American paedophile Epstein’s mansion the night Epstein raped a teenager there.

Spencer Kuvin wants a statement from Andrew and is threatening to formally serve him with legal papers in person if necessary.

Mr Kuvin acts for Caroline Kaufman, 28, who claims Epstein attacked her at his New York home when Prince Andrew was a guest there in December 2010.

He said: “We are looking into serving Prince Andrew. We’d get a subpoena issued here in the States which is brought over to England and localised, then we would have to locate him and have him served. He should be a fairly easy target to locate.”

Reports last week suggested Andrew is eyeing a return to public life.

One source was quoted as saying the Duke feels that his titles should be reinstated “and his position recognised and respected”.

The Prince, 62, lost his HRH and other titles over claims by Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre that he sexually assaulted her three times when she was 17.

Prince Andrew could be dragged back into the Jeffery Epstein sex scandal

Andrew said he had no memory of meeting her but in February he settled the US civil case out of court for an undisclosed sum, said to be millions.

At the time he pledged to support the “fight against the evils of sex trafficking, and by supporting its victims” in a statement.

But Florida-based Mr Kuvin added: “Frankly, it’s an embarrassment to the Royal Family he is attempting a comeback at all.

“If Prince Andrew wants to stay true to his word I urge him to provide a statement about what happened the night Caroline was attacked. He should be volunteering, we shouldn’t be looking into serving him to get his deposition.

“Caroline wants to know what he has to say. She wants all witnesses to come forward.”

Financier Epstein hanged himself in jail in 2019 aged 66. A representative for the Duke declined to comment.

Prince Andrew Could be Next Target For Prosecutors as Ghislaine Maxwell Sentenced

After Ghislaine Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison, lawyers outside New York’s federal court called for other associates of the pair to be investigated – including Prince Andrew

Daily Mirror 29 JUN 2022

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incomin...-826503122.jpg

Victims of Ghislaine Maxwell told how she had “opened the door to hell” today as the fallen socialite was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

One, Juliette Bryant, told a court of the nightmares she had suffered at the hands of Jeffrey Epstein after being trafficked by Maxwell, and said: “Simply put, she is a monster.”

Tonight, lawyers outside New York’s federal court called for other associates of the pair to be investigated – including Prince Andrew.

Brad Edwards, who secured the Duke of York’s sex accuser Virginia Giuffre a £12million out-of-court settlement, appealed to the FBI not to stop its investigation.

Asked about others possibly linked to Maxwell and Epstein, he said: “Let’s hope they’re the next target. If we have anything to do with it, they will be.”

He was backed by top lawyer Spencer Kuvin, who represents several of Epstein and Maxwell’s victims.

The attorney told the Mirror: “Obviously, Andrew is one of the targets they will be looking into.

“He should definitely be concerned, but.. if he did nothing wrong, then come forward and tell the full story to the FBI, not the media.”

Mr Kuvin named other targets, which included another Briton.

In sentencing, Judge Alison Nathane said Maxwell, 60, and Epstein used a “playbook” and the result was “incalculable” damage to their victims.

Ghislaine Maxwell attends her sentencing hearing in a courtroom sketch in New York City

She said: “A substantial sentence will send an unmistakable message that those who engage in sexual abuse and trafficking of underage victims will be held accountable by the law.

“The rule of law demands, and this court agrees, that whether you are rich or powerful or entirely unknown, nobody is above the law.”

Judge Nathan added that Maxwell was “not being punished in place of Epstein”, calling the crimes “heinous and predatory”. She told Maxwell: “A sentence of 240 months is sufficient and no graver than necessary.”

Maxwell looked at her victims, telling them: “I am sorry for the pain that you experienced.

“I hope my conviction and harsh incarceration brings you pleasure.”

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incomin...e-at-Court.jpg

Sarah Ransome and Elizabeth Stein, victims of Jeffery Epstein, arrive for the sentencing of the Ghislaine Maxwell

She had arrived in court wearing a prison-issue uniform with shackles around her ankles which rattled as she made her way to her seat.

Maxwell had hoped to serve less than three years with time off for the 22 months she spent on remand.

With good behaviour, she could be released in her mid to late 70s.
She was also fined the maximum amount possible, $750,000 (£612,000).

Judge Nathan noted Maxwell was in line for a bequest of £8.2million from Epstein, but Maxwell’s lawyer Bobbi Sternheim said she had not received the money and did not expect to.

Maxwell will be eligible to serve most of her sentence in the UK if she applies for a transfer after three years.

Sternheim requested the Briton be sent to a low-security female prison in Danbury, Connecticut and enrolled in a trauma treatment programme.

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incomin...LL-EPSTEIN.jpg

Victim Annie Farmer (L) and her lawyer Sigrid McCawley

Lawyer Lisa Bloom, who represents several Epstein victims and a witness who claims to have seen Andrew with Ms Giuffre together, told the Mirror: “We call upon the FBI to fully investigate Prince Andrew.

“Virginia Giuffre’s civil case should be just the beginning. Everyone associated with Epstein and Maxwell should be carefully investigated.”

In January 2020, then US Attorney for the Southern District of New York Geoffrey Berman, said: “To date, Prince Andrew has provided zero cooperation.”

US investigators later applied to the British government to hand over the Duke to give evidence through a “Mutual Legal Assistance” request to the Home Office, bypassing Buckingham Palace. If approved, the FBI could ask Andrew to be compelled to go to a British court to give evidence under oath as a witness.

The Home Office has refused to comment on the status of the MLA.

Maxwell was convicted last December of sex trafficking minors for her former lover Epstein. Prosecutor Alison Moe told the court: “Maxwell trapped young girls in a horrifying nightmare.

What kind of person flies around on a plane with underage girls so her boyfriend always has someone to touch? To Maxwell, there were two kinds of people in this world – the people who really matter and the people who were disposable.”

The packed New York courtroom sat in silence today as four victims told how they had fallen prey to Maxwell and Epstein.

‘Kate’ was a former model from the UK who told jurors Maxwell invited her to her London home, where she was told to “have a good time” after finding Epstein naked inside. She told the court Maxwell namedropped being a friend of Prince Andrew before asking the victim, 17 at the time, to find someone to give him “a blowj**”.

Kate told Judge Nathan: “She is not sorry and would do it again.”

In her statement, Briton Sarah Ransome, who grew up in Scotland and did not give evidence in the trial, said the two turned her into “nothing more than a sex toy with a heartbeat”.

She said she was so traumatised, she tried to kill herself by leaping off a cliff into shark-infested water on Epstein’s island in the US Virgin Islands. She added: “I was caught by Maxwell and company moments before jumping. That extremely risky escape seemed more appealing than being raped one more time”.

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incomin...of-Maxwell.jpg

Ghislaine Maxwell with her parents in 1990

Another victim, Elizabeth Stein – who did not take part in the trial – told how she had an abortion after being raped and trafficked.

She said: “Things happened that were so traumatising that to this day, I’m unable to speak about them.”

At her three-week trial in December, a jury heard Maxwell “served up” underage girls for paedophile Epstein at his mansion in Palm Beach, Florida.

Between 1994 and 2004, Maxwell was Epstein’s “right hand” and paid girls for sexualised massages and even took part in the abuse.

Carolyn testified that she was one of several underprivileged teens who lived near Epstein’s Florida home and took up an offer to give massages in exchange for $100 (£82) bills.

Maxwell made all the arrangements, Carolyn told the jury.

Kate said Maxwell recruited her in London in 1994 when she was 17, inviting her for tea and then asking her back to give Epstein a massage.

‘Jane’ said that in 1994 when she was 14, she was told to follow Epstein into a pool house at his Palm Beach estate, where he performed a sex act. She told the jury: “I was frozen in fear”.

Ms Giuffre, who could not attend today’s hearing due to a medical issue, provided a statement to the court reading: “Together, you (and Epstein) damaged me physically, mentally, sexually, and emotionally. For me and for so many others, you opened the door to hell.

“You deserve to spend the rest of your life in a jail cell.”

Outside court, Maxwell’s lawyer, Bobbi Sternheim, said her client had been “pilloried” and “convicted in the court of public opinion”
.

She said Maxwell would appeal, and suggested jurors saw her as a stand-in for Epstein – who died in jail awaiting trial – adding: “Clever and cunning to the end, Jeffrey Epstein left Ghislaine Maxwell holding the whole bag.”

Prince Andrew and Ghislaine Maxwell had an 'intimate relationship' and she had 'unrestricted access' to Buckingham Palace, a former royal cop alleges.

Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted of sex trafficking and sentenced to 20 years earlier this week.

Now Paul Page, who served as an armed protection officer from 1998 to 2004, has claimed they were told to wave her in to Buckingham Palace when she arrived.

He claims he would often see Maxwell coming and going from Andrew's apartments.

Page, who was jailed for fraud in 2009, told The Sun : "She was allowed to enter and exit the Palace night and day at will.

"Myself and my other colleagues formed the opinion they were in some sort of relationship."

Page has also claimed he saw Prince Andrew and Maxwell having an "intimate picnic" in the grounds of Buckingham Palace, right below the Queen's bedroom window.

This is not the first time Page has made such claims.

In January he said in an ITV programme that Maxwell visited Buckingham Palace up to four times in one day.

Mr Page told ITV’s Ranvir Singh: “From the way she was allowed to enter and exit the palace at will, we suspected that she may have had an intimate relationship with Prince Andrew.”

He went on: “She kept coming in and out, in and out.”

Ghislaine Maxwell Appeals Against Sex Trafficking Conviction

Ghislaine Maxwell has appealed against her child sex trafficking conviction and the
20-year prison term she was handed by a US judge last month.

BBC News 8 JUL 2022.

https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/976/cp...xwellgetty.jpg

Maxwell, 60, was convicted in December of recruiting and trafficking four teenage girls for abuse by her then-boyfriend Jeffrey Epstein

Epstein took his own life in a New York jail cell in 2019 while awaiting his own trial.

Maxwell's appeal process was expected and will likely last several months.

During her trial, her lawyers argued that she was being scapegoated for Epstein's crimes, calling her friendship with the financier the "biggest mistake of her life".

Judge Alison J Nathan rejected attempts to throw out the case, including after Maxwell's lawyers argued that one juror had failed to inform the court that he had been abused as a child.

She also rejected arguments that Maxwell had not been allowed to prepare adequately for her trial, and that prosecutors had waited too long to bring their case against her.

Pronouncing the sentence in June, Judge Nathan said Maxwell's conduct had been "heinous and predatory" and that she "played a pivotal role" in Epstein's abuse.

As well as jail time, the judge imposed a fine of $750,000 (£610,000).

Her lawyer had asked for a sentence of no more than five years.

It remains unclear on what grounds Maxwell plans to appeal. Her lawyers were not required to give a reason in Thursday's legal filing.

Addressing her victims in the Manhattan courthouse in June, Maxwell said she empathised with them, adding that she hoped her prison sentence would allow the victims "peace and finality".

Maxwell has been in custody since her arrest in July 2020, held mostly at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center.

The case against the British former socialite has been one of the highest-profile since the emergence of the #MeToo movement, which encouraged women to speak out about sexual abuse.

The crimes of Epstein, who mixed with some of the world's most famous people, were first reported in the media in 2005 and he served prison time in Florida in 2008-09 on a state charge of procuring a minor for prostitution.

Following numerous lawsuits, he was arrested again in 2019 in a federal case in New York.

At least eight women wrote letters to Maxwell's judge during her trial describing how they had suffered.

Newsnight Photographer Has Shocking Photo of Prince Andrew That Could Rock Monarchy

It is claimed Prince Andrew insisted the 'jaw-dropping' picture taken on the day never becomes public but an insider close to Newsnight refused to rule out a version appearing in a rumoured new film

Daily Mirror 18 JUL 2022

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incomin...-Newsnight.jpg

Andrew reportedly demanded the photo never becomes public

A BBC employee who worked covering Prince Andrew's disastrous Newsnight interview claims to have a photograph that could shatter the Royal Family if it was ever made public.

Andrew agreed to sit down with presenter Emily Maitlis on 14 November 2019 at Buckingham Palace, where he was questioned about his association with paedophile and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Photographer Mark Harrison, who was present during the BBC sit down, took a snap that would cause serious embarrassment if it ever got out, it has been claimed.

A source said the image was 'jaw-dropping' - but offered little more detail.

The Duke of York's car crash interview is reportedly set to be turned into a movie and could star Hugh Grant - and in-the-know producers may want to recreate their own version.

It is understood Andrew insisted the picture taken on the day never becomes public but an insider close to the show teased that everything has a price.

A source said: "It's the kind of thing which would make the public drop their cornflakes, it is definitely not what Andrew would want out there and apparently he insisted that it remained secret.

"Our jaws dropped to the floor when we saw it. It would cause Andrew much embarrassment.

The Duke said he regrets agreeing to the Newsnight interview

"There is, of course, a chance that it will at some point come out for all to see, perhaps if the price is right and of course the movie about the interview is happening so that is a possibility."

A spokeswoman for the Prince declined to comment.

The story of how the BBC obtained the bombshell interview is set to become a film, with the title Scoop.

The fall out from the interview led to the Duke of York pledging to step back from public life - and he made no public appearances at his mother the Queen's recent Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

https://i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incomin...o-The-Quee.jpg

The interview was the beginning of the end of Andrew's life as an active royal

According to entertainment website Deadline, Scoop could star Hugh Grant as the prince - although casting has not begun and a director has not yet been appointed.

The film is being written by British screenwriter Peter Moffat, who told the publication the movie will be "about how the BBC’s Newsnight team got the scoop, then the actual filming of it".

He added: "The other thing is, ‘why did he agree to do it?’.

“How was it that he decided it was a good idea to do a great big long interview with Emily Maitlis on the BBC?”

In the interview, Andrew declined to say he regretted the friendship with Epstein, with his memorable answers including details of his visit to Pizza Express with daughter Princess Beatrice and saying he was medically unable to sweat.

Andrew vehemently denied any accusations of wrongdoing over his links to Epstein, including allegations he had sex with Virginia Giuffre when she was 17 years old.

Prince Andrew will keep his state-funded police bodyguards following a review of his security arrangements. But Prince Harry is having to take LEGAL action after his police security detail was removed whilst he was in the UK

The Duke of York's Metropolitan Police and Home Office security detail was assessed after the Queen stripped her second-eldest son of his military affiliations and royal patronages and removed his HRH (His Royal Highness) title.

The decision was made after Virginia Giuffre claimed Jeffrey Epstein forced her to have sex with Andrew on three occasions when she was just 17 and brought a legal case against him in the US.

Andrew later agreed to a financial settlement with Ms Giuffre. He has always vehemently denied the claims.

It was originally claimed that the settlement cost £12 million but it was reported last weekend that a reduced deal between £3 million and £5 million was negotiated by Andrew's lawyers.

The Daily Telegraph reported that the Royal and VIP Executive Committee concluded that Andrew was still entitled to the round-the-clock police protection.

He will still be accompanied by a personal protection officer whenever he leaves his home. Permanent security arrangements are in place for the 30-room Royal Lodge on the Queen’s Windsor estate.

Official royal duties are no longer assigned to Andrew. With the exception of horse riding and frequently visiting the Queen, it is not known how he currently fills his time.

The taxpayer pays for his police protection at an estimated cost of between £2 million and £3 million a year.

Andrew's daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie lost their taxpayer-funded protection after a row in 2011.

It is thought Prince Charles stepped in after the younger of his nieces racked up huge security costs as she travelled the world on her gap year.

A report published at the time suggested Eugenie spent more than £100,000 of taxpayers' money as she explored India, America, Thailand and South Africa.

She paid for hotels and travel herself, but the massive security bill, including overtime money, was funded by the taxpayer.

Princess Anne, Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex also do not have round-the-clock security.

They are only guarded by police protection officers while carrying out official duties and engagements.

The Home Office and Met Police have been contacted for comment.

As one of the most *notorious *killers in America, Narcy Novack does not on the face of it seem a natural pal for British former socialite Ghislaine Maxwell.

But the pair have become close over a shared taste for the millionaire’s *lifestyle, long sentences and their ages, insiders have claimed.

Convicted teenage sex trafficker Maxwell, 60, and 65-year-old double murderer Novack spend hours speaking together at Tallahassee jail in the east of Florida’s state capital.

The US con is a feared figure among inmates after having her hotel heir husband and mother-in-law bumped off and her friendship with Maxwell will no doubt offer the Brit some protection in the brutal prison world.

A source there said: “Once inside, Ghislaine gravitated towards Narcy.

“Because of her length of time inside and the brutality of her crime, she is treated like a female don.

“All the younger girls address her as ‘Miss Novack’ out of respect.

“Ghislaine will have a modicum of protection through her friendship, but given their ages and millionaire *backgrounds, they were always destined to get on well.

“Together, they spend hours talking, laughing and joking.”

Maxwell is serving 20 years after being convicted last December of luring young girls for her disgraced ex, financier Jeffrey Epstein, to molest.

Despite their crimes, *Tallahassee is categorised as a low-security prison that has a range of courses and work placements for inmates. There are apprenticeships in several fields, including gardening, baking, cooking, and *housekeeping. Yoga, pilates, weights, softball and frisbee are offered as leisure pursuits.

While the two new prison pals both enjoyed tycoon lives on the outside, that is where their similarities end.

Maxwell, inmate 02879-509, was born into a life of privilege, partying with princes, stars and aristocracy. But ruthless Novack worked her way up in US society through stripping and sex.

The interior of Bernice Novack's car, found bloodied outside her Fort Lauderdale home

She regularly swapped lovers for a richer, more wealthy man and eventually met *multi-millionaire playboy Ben Novak Jr in her strip club. Years later, she was the mastermind behind the brutal murder of the 52-year-old and his mother Bernice, 86, in a twisted plot motivated by greed and revenge over claims Ben had cheated.

The pair were killed three months apart by hitmen hired by voodoo fan Novack and arranged by her bus driver brother Cristobal Veliz.

Bernice was the widow of Ben Novack Sr, who owned the legendary Fontainebleau Miami Beach Hotel, frequented by the likes of Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra.

She was found dead in a pool of blood on April 5, 2009, in the garage of her Fort Lauderdale home. It was ruled she died in a fall. But when Ben, who stood to inherit a £8.5million fortune, detectives reopened the case.

They found Bernice been battered with a monkey wrench. The medical examiner believes she had stumbled from place to place in the home but eventually fell in the garage.

Many believe Ben’s suspicions had grown about Novack’s *involvement, but the assassins struck again before he could make any accusations.

Novack had accompanied him to a convention for his company at the Hilton Rye Town in Rye Brook, New York. The two hitmen said at her trial Novack had let them into the couple’s suite on the morning of July 12, 2009.

Ben was asleep when he was attacked in his bed with dumbbells.

They bound him with duct tape - and Novack threw them a pillow to muffle her dying husband’s screams.

She ordered the men to gouge out his eyes with a knife so, despite being dead, he could never look at a woman.

Novack later pretended she had found her husband’s body.

But police were suspicious from the off and struggled to believe her story.

She the stole more than £90,000 from his company, paying off the killers, Alejandro Garcia and Joel Gonzales. They eventually confessed in 2010. In exchange for lesser sentences of 210 months and 120 months respectively, the pair co-operated with police leading to Novack and her brother being found guilty of the murders.

During their trial, the siblings blamed Novack’s daughter, May Abad, for orchestrating the killings, claiming she was *motivated by benefits from Ben’s estate. But the jury saw through their lies.

Ghislaine Maxwell has been sent to FCI Tallahassee in Florida

Assistant US Attorney Elliott Jacobson described the pair as “pathological liars”, adding: “They are *extraordinarily dangerous sociopaths.”

Ben had grown up in one of Florida’s most affluent and famous *families. But using his business skills, he made his own millions through a company that organised events and and conventions.

Wealthy and eligible, Ben attracted the attention of many women, including Ecuador-born Narcissa Cira Veliz Pacheco, also known as Narcy.

When they met, she was a blonde stripper working in Florida under the name of Sylvia. Her background was one of poverty and struggles.

Narcy married Ben in 1991, much to the disapproval of Bernice and with his money, she transformed into the role of the trophy wife.

The couple were dripping in jewellery and lived in a £2.4million home. They seemed to have it all from the outside, but their marriage was fatally flawed.

Once, police were called to their home to find Ben tied in what looked like a kidnapping attempt - but Novack insisted it was part of a sex game.

During her trial, it emerged he had paid porn actress Rebecca Bliss for sex. The couple went on to have an affair

When Novack found out, she was petrified Ben would leave her and she would end up struggli
ng again.

Their prenuptial agreement meant she would only be left with £55,000, not his millions. First, she tried and failed to pay Bliss off. In her fury, Novack hatched a plot to keep hold of his £8.5 million fortune.

Later the X-rated star would testify that after the rejection, Novack told her: “If I can’t have him, no one will.”
