This well-chosen Far East compilation (which oddly finds EMI licensing tracks owned by MCA) contains among its 20 selections 16 U.S. chart hits by Billy Vaughn in their original 1954-62 Dot recordings, including all 12 of his Top 40 singles from "Melody Of Love" to "A Swingin' Safari." Also included are four LP tracks of Vaughn treatments of familiar tunes (three of them from his 1958 Billy Vaughn Plays The Million Sellers LP), including "Holiday For Strings." The sequencing and annotation could be second-guessed, and of course for an American consumer the disc may be pricey, but among the many albums called The Best Of Billy Vaughn, this single-CD set lives up to its name.......
