The Beatles release the single, "Roll Over Beethoven." (1965)

Another gold record for Aretha Franklin. Her seventh is her recording of Burt Bacharach and Hal David's "I Say a Little Prayer." (1968)

Bluesman Muddy Waters is seriously injured and three other people killed in a car crash near Chicago. (1969)

Grand Funk Railroad's debut LP, "On Time," enters the chart at #65, much to chagrin of rock critics, who launch an all-out assault on the group. Within the year, Grand Funk will be among the best selling acts in rock history. (1969)

"Saturday Night Live" is broadcast for the first time with George Carlin as the guest host. The musical guests on the first show were Janis Ian and Billy Preston. The show really takes off the following week when it highlighted by the reunion of host Paul Simon with his former partner, Art Garfunkel. (1975)

The Pretenders release their single, "Don't Get Me Wrong." It peaks at #10. (1986)

Ringo Starr and his wife Barbara Bach travel to Tucson, Arizona for alcohol abuse treatment. The complete the program on November 25 and return to England. (1988)
