John Lennons' Son Julian Reveals Beatles Hit That Drives Him Up The Wall
John Lennons' Son Julian Reveals The Beatles Hit That Drives Him Up The Wall
.....And The Heartbreaking Reason Why Daily Mail 21 DEC 2023 Julian Lennon said Beatles classic Hey Jude will always be 'dark' to him as it serves as a reminder of the pain behind his parents divorce and 'the fact that I rarely saw my father again'. 'It's a beautiful sentiment, no question about that, and I'm very thankful - but I've also been driven up the wall by it,' Julian told Esquire magazine. 'I love the fact that he wrote a song about me and for mum, but depending on what side of the bed one woke up on, and where you're hearing it, it can be a good or a slightly frustrating thing.' Julian said he saw his father 'maybe a couple of times' before he was shot and killed on December 8, 1980 in New York. The son of late Beatles star John Lennon said Sir Paul McCartney wrote the song to provide comfort to Julian and his mother Cynthia over the 1968 separation and the affair with Yoko Ono (L-R: The Beatles members George Harrison, Sir Paul McCartney, John Lennon and Ringo Starr) Julian Lennon Blasts Suggestion of Feud With Brother Sean Lennon Julian Lennon is setting the record straight on any suggestion that he and his brother, Sean Lennon, don’t get along. Julian Lennon With John Lennon Julian is the son of John Lennon and his first wife, Cynthia, and Sean is the son of John and Yoko Ono. The subject of their relationship comes up in an interview with Esquire magazine, in which Julian talks about how neither he nor his brother wanted to go to the Get Back premiere back in 2021. “He felt overwhelming pressure. And I didn’t particularly want to go. But he said he felt obligated to go, so because I love him so much I said, ‘Listen, I’m coming with you. We’ll face the demons together,’” he says. “And it’s funny because there’s always been, especially in the U.K. press, ‘Lennon Sons Feuding,’ this, that. We’ve never had a fight in our life. It’s such bull.” Julian said he’s shared “lots of happy pictures” of him and his brother to show that love. “This was important for me and for the peace and for family, because there has been friction, no question, in the past between everybody,” he says. “But we’re all getting a bit older, and as we get older we lose people and we realize now what’s most precious in life.” And that love extends not only to Sean and Yoko, but Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and all The Beatles‘ children. Julian says “it’s a big old, weird family. But as they say, families are always a bit screwed up.” Julian Lennon Performs 'IMAGINE' With Brother Sean Lennon For Global Citizen's Stand Up For Ukraine Did John Lennon reconnect with his son Julian? Did Yoko Ono Really Withhold What John Lennon Left Julian Lennon in His Will?
