Ex-Spandau Ballet Singer Ross William Wild Faces Rape and Sexual Assault Charges

Former Spandau Ballet singer, Ross William Wild, is due to appear in court to face charges of rape and sexually assaulting sleeping women

Ross William Wild appeared in court on Thursday to face charges of rape and sexual assault.

The 34-year-old former Spandau Ballet singer is accused of filming himself molesting six different women while they were sleeping.

Wild is also charged with raping, blackmailing and disclosing a private sexual picture of a seventh woman.

The Scottish singer appeared under his real name, Ross Davidson, when his appeared at Carlisle magistrates’ court.

He was arrested in Aberdeen, at his parents' home, after police were authorised by the CPS over the 17 offences which allegedly took place between 2013 and 2018.

Wild appeared in the dock alongside two security officers and was tearful when his solicitor, Chris Toms, told the court that he was a "professional musical performer.”

The singer did not enter a formal plea and Mr Toms said about the rape charge: “That is firmly denied. He wants his day in court.”

Wild was remanded in custody and will now appear at London's Wood Green crown court on July 22.

The former Spandau Ballet star was investigated by The Met's Specialist Crime command in 2019.

They seized a mobile phone which purportedly contained images of women being molested as they were sleeping.

Wild's home in Finchley, North London, is where four of the alleged sexual assaults are said to have taken place, between October 2013 and December 2017.

Another sexual assault is alleged to have taken place in a hotel in Shrewsbury in June 2017.

It is understood that police are yet to identify several of the women.

Wild joined Spandau Ballet in May 2018, which is the same month that the last alleged incident happened while Wild was attending the Cannes film festival.

Wild has been charged with six counts of sexual assault and six of voyeurism in relation to these alleged offences.

He has also been accused of rape between August 1 and October 1 in 2013 and then blackmailing the same complainant in November 2017.

Wild is also accused of causing criminal damage to her property and in October 2017, disclosing a private sexual photograph with the intent to cause her distress.

He also faces a final charge of possessing an extreme pornographic image featuring a non-consensual sex act.

Wild joined Spandau Ballet in 2018 as replacement for original lead singer Tony Hadley.

He had starred alongside Martin Kemp, the band's bassist, in West End musical Million Dollar Quartet in which he played Elvis Presley.

Two years later, Wild was sacked live on ITV's This Morning, which devastated him so much he claims he tried to take his own life while he was in Cannes.
