Elton John Tests Positive For COVID-19. and Forced to Cancel Two Concerts

Sir Elton John, 74, has been forced to cancel two concerts in Dallas after testing positive for Covid-19

Daily Mirror 26 JAN 2022

Sir Elton John has tested positive for COVID-19.

The star, 74, is fully vaccinated and only experiencing mild symptoms, but has been forced to cancel two concerts.

A statement issued on behalf of the Rocket Man singer said: "It is with great regret that the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour dates in Dallas set for Tuesday, January 25 and Wednesday, January 26 must be postponed due to Elton recently testing positive for COVID-19.

"Fortunately, Elton is fully vaccinated and boosted, and is experiencing only mild symptoms. Fans should hold on to their tickets as they will be honored at the rescheduled dates to be announced soon.

Elton says his symptoms are mild

"Elton and the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour look forward to returning to the stage shortly."

The icon's farewell tour was originally postponed in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but the singer is determined to see the dates through as soon as he can.

While he was kept off the stage and in lockdown, Elton kept himself busy by working on collaborative album The Lockdown Sessions.

Elton also released a statement to his fans on Instagram to let them know how he was doing after his diagnosis.

Elton is sure he'll be back on the road soon

He penned: "Hi everyone, wanted to send a message to let you know that I have contracted COVID and so have had to reschedule my shows in Dallas.

"If you have tickets, you'll be contacted with the new dates really soon. It's always a massive disappointment to move shows and I'm so sorry to anyone who's been inconvenienced by this but I want to keep myself and my team safe."

He added: "Fortunately, I'm fully vaccinated and boosted and my symptoms are mild so I'm fully expecting to be able to make the Arkansas shows this weekend.

"As always, thank you for all your love and support and I can't wait to see you all soon!"
