TV Shows Simon Cowells' Broken Back & New Talent Show -Walk The Line

EXCLUSIVE: Simon Cowell's pregnant married lover breaks cover as 'freaked out' pop guru is accused of adultery in divorce papers but insists: 'I WILL take care of the baby'
  • Lauren, 36, was seen with her seven-year-old son Adam at the family home in Bridgehampton, New York
  • Wearing a loose white shirt and cropped trousers, she already appeared to be showing a hint of a bump
  • Lauren's outing came as friends of Cowell insisted he will do everything he can to support the baby
By Daily Mail UK, 1 August 2013

Lauren Silverman managed a smile as she broke her cover and appeared in public for the first time since it was revealed she is pregnant with Simon Cowell's baby.
The 36-year-old socialite was seen walking her seven-year-old son Adam down the driveway of the $4million family home in Bridgehampton, New York, where she has been staying since the baby news broke.

Lauren's outing came as a friend of music mogul Cowell, who is worth an estimated £200million, insisted he will do everything he can to support and provide for his child.

Pictured: Lauren Silverman is seen for the first time since it was revealed she is expecting Simon Cowell's baby

EXCLUSIVE: First look at Lauren Silverman since scandal broke

The friend told MailOnline: 'Simon has given all his exes houses - so of course he's going to be generous to his own child', adding that 'he has not even considered not looking after this baby.

'Anyone who knows him knows that he's generous to a fault. Lauren keeps saying that she just wants to be with him, she's so in love with him, they're very good together. She makes him relax and have fun.

'She's fun loving, she loves a party and a giggle. Simon's himself around her, she's been good for him. He's so happy.'

Wearing a white shirt, black cropped leggings and a baseball cap, Lauren already appeared to be displaying a hint of a bump as she stepped out with her son.

Lauren was seen waving to a female friend as she was met halfway down the driveway, and smiled widely as she placed her hand on her son's back.

Doting mother: Lauren kept her hand on Adam's back as she walked him down the driveway

'Freaked out': Cowell, seen here outside the X Factor USA studios in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, is said to be 'very stressed' following Lauren's baby news

Keeping his head down: Cowell looked stony-faced as he left the studios, and refused to comment on the news

She then turned round and walked quickly back into the house as the friend ensured Adam was safely on the school bus.
Lauren has been staying at the seven-bedroom property with her mother Carole and another friend.
The house had been listed for rent recently and the description on a real estate website says it has four fireplaces, seven and a half bathrooms and a country eat-in kitchen.

Despite Lauren and Adam's relatively good spirits as they were pictured, it is likely that the child will be the main issue in his parents' divorce case.

Andrew filed papers in the Manhattan Supreme Court two weeks ago, naming Cowell as a co-respondent and citing adultery as the reason for ending the marriage.

Noted divorce lawyer Vanessa Lloyd Platt told MailOnline of Andrew's decision: 'It's a very unusual thing to name him. And considering they are all supposed to be friends it's a very unusual step to take.
'Andrew would have not only had to name him, but Simon would also have had to be served with the papers. It's all going to very muddy, muddled and an absolute nightmare for Simon.'

Father-to-be: While the baby news came as a shock, Cowell is said to be determined to support his baby - regardless of whether or not he is in a relationship with Lauren

On the hunt: The pair were pictured together house hunting in Los Angles in October 2012

However, Vanessa said that she thinks reports that Cowell could be called to the witness stand to reveal details of the alleged affair is unlikely.
But it does seem more likely that he will have to reveal details of his personal wealth, estimated to be in the region of $350million.
Vanessa added: 'It could be that in the fight between Lauren and Andrew, the financial circumstances debate would have to bring in Simon.

'Andrew's team are likely to be saying that when you look at Lauren's needs, you have to take into account that Simon will be looking after her.'
A close friend of Cowell told MailOnline today that the pop mogul believed Andrew Silverman had named him in the divorce ‘to cause the utmost embarrassment’ to the star.

Still smiling: Lauren's estranged husband Andrew Silverman made no comment about the baby news as he left his New York apartment on Wednesday evening

Co-respondent: Cowell is said to believe that Andrew named him in the papers to cause him maximum embarrassment

The source said: ‘This is just to exact revenge. Andrew wants to embarrass Simon. There’s no way this will actually go to trial, but Andrew just wants to get back at him.’

Lauren is said to be thrilled about the fact that she is pregnant with Simon's baby, with a source telling people that she is 'ecstatic' about her relationship with the mogul.

Not everyone is happy about the pregnancy news, however, as Andrew's brother Alexander Silverman insisted that the baby constituted a 'betrayal' of trust, because Simon and Andrew were close friends for many years.

He said: 'It is an unbelievable story of betrayal. It is a sad story and a tragic story.'
No evidence has been revealed so far to suggest that Cowell and Lauren's affair started before the marriage began to fall apart.

Cowell maintained a stony silence on the subject as he was pictured for the first time since the pregnancy revelations while leaving a television studios in Los Angeles after filming The X Factor USA on Wednesday night.

'Fun, party girl': The rest of Cowell's 'harem' are said to be stunned over Lauren's pregnancy news

Wearing a grey top and jeans, Cowell, who is said to be 'freaked out' by the news he is to become a father for the first time, remained silent as he was quizzed about the baby news, but did not deny the reports.
It is understood that Cowell has hired tough Los Angeles-based lawyer Marty Singer to help him handle the crisis, described by friends as being of gargantuan proportions.

While Cowell is said to accept that the baby, due next February, is his, the news of 36-year-old Lauren's pregnancy came as a huge shock to both Simon and his closest female friends including Sinitta and ex fiancée Mezhgan Hussainy - otherwise known as his 'harem'.

On Wednesday, a friend close to Cowell claimed: ‘Simon is in no doubt the child is his. Simon is [said to be] freaked out by this but there is no question that he will not support the child.

‘In the harem hierarchy, Lauren is regarded as the fun, party girl. The other girls have all met her, they know who she is and they have been reduced to tears by this.'

While news of the pregnancy only broke on Wednesday, Cowell has been attempting to deal with the drastic change to his life over the past few months, with friends saying he has been struggling to stay on top of both his personal life drama and his various work commitments.

Holiday: Cowell was regularly joined on breaks by Lauren and her husband Andrew - seen here with the mogul in St Barts in January 2012

Bonded: The trio looked very cosy as they lay together on the deck of the boat during the 2012 break

The friend added: 'Simon has been very stressed in the last few months with his various shows and juggling everything that he has in his life.'
Cowell has so far maintained a stony silence on Twitter, with his last unrelated post coming on 30th July.

However, in an interview in 2009, Cowell said: 'God, no. I couldn't have children. If I had them here drawing on the walls I'd go nuts.

Expecting: Lauren is thought to be 10 weeks into the pregnancy, meaning the baby is due around Valentine's Day next year

'With kids, you've got a routine you can't escape from. You've got to be up at a certain time. Got to listen. When all you want to do is sit in a corner thinking.'

In a more recent interview in April this year, Cowell appeared to have somewhat changed his mind, saying: 'I haven’t ruled it out. If I knew I could be - how do I put this delicately - faithful, I would.
'I do like kids, I’m just not sure I’d be any good for the first six months. I don’t think I’d adopt because I’d rather have my own. I’d have to say I’d like a little girl.'

On Wednesday night, Lauren’s stepmother confirmed the baby news, calling it ‘beautiful’ and a ‘blessing’.
Rosy Davis, who is the wife of Mrs Silverman’s father Steven, said: ‘We are all excited for the baby. It’s beautiful. We feel blessed. Any kid is a blessing.’

However, Lauren's sister-in-law, also named Lauren, who works in real estate in New York told MailOnline: 'I have read the gossip. I have no knowledge whatsoever. I don’t know anything about it.'

Meanwhile, Cowell's mother, Julie, 87, seemed thrilled at the prospect of becoming a grandmother, telling The Sun: 'I've not heard anything officially. But if it's true then I'm absolutely delighted. It's wonderful! He'll make a fantastic father. He'll be great.'

It is as yet unclear whether or not Cowell and Lauren will attempt to make their relationship work for the sake of their unborn child.
While some sources say he and Lauren are a couple, others say he is preparing for a legal battle over his £225million fortune - a huge chunk of which could go on child maintenance.

Cowell and Lauren are believed to have met while on vacation in Barbados some years ago through her real estate husband Andrew.
Biographer Tom Bower witnessed the beginnings of Cowell and Lauren's close friendship a year-and-a-half ago, when he spent time on a yacht called the Slipstream, which the mogul had chartered for £2 million a month.

In his biography, Sweet Revenge: The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell, Bower noted that there were a number of high-octane glamour women who were competing for Cowell’s attention, but that Lauren was ‘his closest confidante’.

The pair, seen here in July 2012, are parents to seven-year-old son Adam but have now officially separated

He described him as ‘occasionally, an insecure, lonely man whose greatest comfort was lying on a couch between Lauren Silverman and [his TV producer] Kelly Bergantz, watching a film and grazing on simple food suitable for kids in a nursery’.

Bower also details in the book Lauren's shock when Cowell initially told her about his engagement to Mezhgan Hussainy in February 2010.
According to Bower, Lauren, who he calls Cowell's 'best friend in New York' was 'completely flabbergasted' by the news, telling Andrew as she finished her phone call with the mogul: 'The whole thing is wrong.'

Andrew now believes Lauren started getting close to Simon during one of the many vacations they all shared together.

It is not known whether Mr Silverman filed the legal papers after learning of his wife’s pregnancy with Simon Cowell, although their break-up does leave his estranged wife free to start a new life with Cowell.
He is being represented by Manhattan family lawyers Cohen Goldstein and filed his affidavit on July 24.

Crisis mode: Cowell is said to have employed New York lawyer Marty Singer to help him deal with the 'crisis'

Meanwhile, MailOnline can also reveal that Cowell's ex-girlfriend Sinitta 'burst into tears' when she found out about the baby, telling the X Factor judge: 'It should have been me'.

Sinitta, who the multimillionaire has remained particularly close to after the pair dated on and off over a period of 20 years - is a constant fixture on his Caribbean jaunts.
A tweet Sinitta posted two days before the pregnancy revelation appeared to suggest the situation was 'half miracle, half nightmare'.

Although Sinitta didn't directly reference Lauren's pregnancy in her tweet, the timely posting seemed to allude to Cowell's impending fatherhood.

Writing on July 29, she said: 'Something has just happened ..half miracle, half nightmare! #WakeMeUpIWantToGetOff!!'

Another person quick to voice his excitement was Cowell's Britain's Got Talent co-judge, comedian David Walliams, who appeared to confirm the news via a jokey post on his Twitter page.
David - who recently welcomed his first child with model wife Lara Stone - wrote: 'Oh yeah, and @SimonCowell is doing a baby with a lady.

'For the record @SimonCowell and I tried to have a baby together for many years. But I just couldn't get pregnant.'

David's fellow Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden also offered her congratulations, referring to the fact that co-judge Alesha Dixon is also expecting.
She tweeted: 'I am still here! Just enjoying a family break!! So! All Four Judges with potentially 4 kids under 2 for BGT 2014!!'

And Carmen Electra, who was linked to Cowell late last year and in early 2013, said she was 'so happy' for her former beau as she spoke to reporters at the VH1 Do Something Awards in Hollywood on Wednesday night.

She told E! News: 'What I witnessed working with him on Britain's Got Talent and coming to see him during X Factor is that the people he truly believes in, he stands up for them and supports them. So I obviously think that his child will be very well taken care and very, very loved.

'I'm going to call him as soon as I get in the car after the event. I want to know if it's a boy or a girl. It's awesome, I'm super happy for him.'

Television Simon Cowell ANGRY @ Fake Stunt in Talent Show >Launches Inquiry

'Heads Could Roll': Furious Simon Cowell Launches Inquiry at Britain's Got Talent over Matisse's Fake Stunt

  • Simon Cowell launches 'urgent investigation' into Britain's Got Talent final
  • Dog Matisse was replaced by a look-alike stunt dog, Chase, for winning act
  • Ofcom may now launch own investigation after receiving 365 complaints
  • Viewers angry about not being told that stunt dog used for performance
Daily Mail UK, 2 June 2015

Simon Cowell has ordered an internal investigation after Britain’s Got Talent winner Jules O'Dwyer was revealed to have switched the dog used in her final piece for a look-alike stunt double.
The 56-year-old music mogul said ‘heads could roll’ and wants to know why producers did not inform the public that Matisse was replaced for the show-stopping tight-rope trick by another dog.
Ofcom has now received more than 365 complaints from viewers into the switch and is considering launching its own investigation about the public being 'misled'.
ITV also confirmed it has received a further 130 complaints.

'Heads will roll': Simon Cowell has ordered an urgent investigation into how producers kept hidden from the public the fact that Matisse was replaced by another dog for the daring tight-rope trick on Britain's Got Talent

Investigation: Simon Cowell (pictured with his partner Lauren Silverman and kissing Ms O'Dwyer's third dog Skippy) said an internal probe would be carried out to see why the public was not told about the dog switch

Ms O'Dwyer, 49, yesterday defended her decision claiming that Matisse was unable to pull off the daring stunt because he is 'afraid of heights' and was replaced by another dog, called Chase.

Now, the show’s boss Cowell has ordered an urgent investigation into how the dog swap was allowed, without viewers being informed during Sunday’s performance.

A source said: ‘He is shocked and angry. He had no idea. He wants to know who is responsible. Heads could roll.’

Ms O'Dwyer and Matisse won over the judges and stunned more than 13 million viewers on Sunday night to scoop the £250,000 prize money and a chance to star in the Royal Variety performance.

The duo narrowly beat favourites choir Cor Glanaethwaym, securing 22.6 per cent of the 4.5million votes cast and pipping runner-up magician Jamie Raven by just 2.2 per cent of the vote.
But viewers were left feeling cheated after Ms O'Dwyer revealed on ITV's Lorraine that Chase had performed during the finale.

Revelation: Matisse's owner Jules O'Dwyer, 49 (pictured with her three dogs), has defended her decision, claiming that Matisse was unable to pull off the daring tight-rope stunt because he is 'afraid of heights'

Together: Chase, Matisse and Skippy (left to right) pose with Jules after winning the Britain's Got Talent final

She revealed how the switch occurred after Matisse disappeared behind a door, before he later returned to complete the routine.

Speaking on the show, she said: 'Matisse is a little bit afraid of heights so although he could officially do it, Chase is the action dog, so he plays the double for him.'

The admission quickly sparked a Twitter storm, with viewers saying it was 'shameful' and that the act should be stripped of their prize.
But Ms O'Dwyerr insisted that it had never been her intention 'to mislead people’.

Talking to MailOnline about the furore, she said: ‘Chase was the more advanced at that trick - it fitted into our story so we decided to put it in.
'I chose to split the act up so as not to overwork my dogs.'

Asked why Chase hadn't been revealed to viewers at the end of the routine, she added: 'It was a live show and technically not possible to get the second dog around the set and out on to the stage in time.

Angry: Music mogul Cowell is said to be furious about the dog switch and wants an investigation into it

Controversy: Furious viewers took to Twitter after discovering Matisse had been swapped for a fellow dog

'I'm not there to pull my dogs from pillar to post.'
She added: 'I was disappointed when people said I allegedly hid Chase and I was trying to make it like Chase was Matisse. That's not so.
'I introduced Chase in the semi-final, and I said Chase is Matisse's best mate. Chase does the trick very well, Matisse prefers it lower but he's never been at that height.

'I have a choice: I have a dog that can do it at that height, or I have a dog I'd have to push in three days to achieve this
'Why put the pressure on the dog, when I already have another dog who can perform it on television?'

Ms O'Dwyer and Matisse were the final act of the night, choosing a cops and robbers theme for their last performance, which ended with another dog, three-legged Skippy, coming on stage for an emotional ending to the story set to the tune of Lily Allen's Somewhere Only We Know.

The performance reduced judges David Walliams and Amanda Holden to tears, with the latter gushing: 'Honestly it was just one of the most wonderful story, I'm crying my eyes out it's pathetic. You've knocked it out the park.'

Simon Cowell added: 'It is your love for that dog which really really shows, maybe we just saved the best until last.'

Ofcom is now assessing whether it will launch its own investigation into the show after 200 people complained about the dog switch.

The watchdog's code states:

'Broadcasters must ensure that viewers and listeners are not materially misled about any broadcast competition or voting.'

A further 200 viewers also complained to Ofcom about the dresses worn by judges Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon, which both sported plunging necklines.

Illusion: Magician Jamie Raven stunned the judges with his trick involving a lemon in the Britain's Got Talent final, but viewers appeared to work out how he did it

Money: The audience was amazed by the trick, as were the judges as Alesha pulled the note out of the lemon

The magician, who came second to Jules and Matisse, wowed judge Alesha Dixon with the trick, which saw him pull a banknote out of the fruit.
But several people watching the ITV show immediately tweeted that they had seen a hole in the lemon, prompting questions of whether Jamie pushed the note through the pre-prepared fruit.

A spokesman for the producers of Britain's Got Talent apologised if Ms O'Dwyer's dog switch had not been 'made clearer'.
They said: 'The audience had previously seen from Jules's semi-final routine that she works with a second dog Chase alongside Matisse. For the final performance, as Jules has said publicly herself, Chase completed the tight-rope walking section of the act.

'During the competition viewers have seen that Jules's act involves a team of dogs, including Chase and Skippy, alongside starring dog Matisse, to perform her unique mixture of dog agility and story-telling.
‘We are sorry if this was not made clearer to the judges and viewers at home during their final performance.'

MailOnline has contacted ITV for further comment about Jules and Matisse and the internal investigation.

Unhappy Simon Cowell Has Broken His Back After Accident

Simon Cowell Hospitalised After Breaking His Back Falling Off Bike

The talent show mogul, 60, will undergo surgery later today, his representatives have confirmed

Daily Mirror UK, 9 AUG 2020.

Simon Cowell has been taking to hospital after breaking his back when he fell while testing an electric bicycle.

The talent show mogul had been taking the bike for a spin in the courtyard of his Malibu home when the accident happened.

A spokesperson for the star, 60, has told The Hollywood Reporter that he is being treated in hospital and will have surgery today.

"Simon had a fall from his bike on Saturday afternoon whilst testing his new electric bike in the courtyard at his house in Malibu with his family," a spokesperson revealed .

"He hurt his back and was taken to the hospital. He's doing fine, he's under observation and is in the best possible hands."

They then added: "Simon has broken his back and will be having surgery this evening."

Simon had been scheduled to return to work on America's Got Talent next week with the first live show due to air on Tuesday August 11.

Last month, it was announced that Simon has taken full control of AGT and The X Factor after he agreed to buy out Sony Music Entertainment's stake in the venture.

The dad has turned to biking after embracing a new healthier lifestyle that his seen him lost over four stone in the last few years.

Simon, who has been looking noticeably trimmer, said recently he found being in lockdown very helpful for sticking to his clean eating regime.

"I’m doing a bit of cooking. I’m exercising. Funny enough, more during this time as well, sticking to the diet,” he told Extra.

"The only difficult thing is when Eric orders a pizza… That’s the number one thing I miss."

Simon has been spending lockdown with his girlfriend Lauren Silverman and six-year-old son Eric as well as Lauren's 14-year-old son Adam from a previous relationship.

Earlier this month it was revealed that Simon will miss the Britain's Got Talent finals for the first time ever.

The impact of the coronavirus has led to changing schedules meaning the series will be filmed at the same time as America's Got Talent and Simon decided to stay in the US where he lives to fill his commitments there.

A source said: “Simon is gutted to not be physically there for the semi- finals, but he’ll be there virtually, casting an eye over the talent and imparting his views in every show.

“Normally, schedules mean Simon can do both but AGT’s dates haven’t moved while BGT's have due to coronavirus."

Although after the mogul's latest injury it's been thrown into question whether he'll be ready to film later this month.

Get well soon Simon!

TV Shows Simon Cowells' New Talent Show -Walk The Line

Simon Cowell Returning to British TV With Brand New Talent Show Walk The Line

Music mogul Simon Cowell has created a new talent show, called Walk The Line, which is described as a 'high octane musical game show'

Daily Mirror UK, 24 JUN 2021

Simon Cowell is returning to British TV with a talent show with a difference.

Walk The Line is a new format being described as a “high octane musical game show”.

It will feature Simon on a judging panel giving away “life-changing” sums of money.

The top two acts in each show must choose whether to take a cash prize or risk playing on.

If they play on and top the leaderboard, they will progress to the next show, where they will face a different set of performers. The prize gets bigger the longer the series goes on.

Simon, 61, has been absent from UK screens since breaking his back in August last year.

He said: “I am thrilled to be working with Lifted Entertainment and ITV on this new project... It’s the kind of decision that will have viewers on the edge of their seats – real event TV.

“I’m excited at giving musical talent the opportunity to transform their lives like never before.”

The six-episode series is due to be screened this year. It will feature all kinds of musical acts from soloists and duos to bands and choirs.

Simon hopes to sell the new format around the world.

Bosses previously announced that his show Britain’s Got Talent will not take place this year because of the pandemic.

Simon broke his back falling off an electric bike at his house in Malibu in the US.

He has since recovered, and returned to the judging panel of America’s Got Talent this year.
