'Sadistic' Brit Crocodile Expert Adam Britton Tortured and Raped 39 Dogs in Vile Abuse
Adam Britton, 51, who is based in Darwin, Australia, began his "sadistic" rampage in 2014 and tortured and sexually exploited more than 39 dogs until his arrest in April 2022 BBC 27 SEP 2023 ![]() ![]() Australian zoologist Adam Britton measures a captive crocodile A prominent British crocodile expert has admitted to dozens of charges of brutality involving the torture, rape and killing of pet dogs, say reports. Adam Britton, 51, who is based in Darwin, Australia, was said to have begun his "sadistic" rampage in 2014 and tortured and sexually exploited more than 39 dogs until his arrest in April 2022. He stood emotionless in the dock at the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory (NT) on Monday where he admitted the charges - and also pleaded guilty to four counts of accessing and transmitting child abuse material. Reports say he called the dogs 'f*** toys', filmed the abuse of the dogs on his property and then shared his perverse acts under pseudonyms online. The facts of the charges were so grim that NT Chief Justice Michael Grant urged the public gallery and media to leave the court before they were read out, according to reports. He said they "could only be described as grotesque cruelty" and could cause "nervous shock." Mr Grant continued: "Either way I’ll leave that up to you, but the potential has been described." The former academic once hosted national treasure biologist Sir David Attenborough. Following meeting Attenborough, he wrote on his blog in 2016: "When David gives you a hug, it's genuine. I was satisfied with a warm handshake. He offered us perhaps the best compliment he could have, that he'd never seen anyone handle crocodiles with as much respect and care as we had." ![]() Sir David Attenborough met with the crocodile expert for some filming The court reportedly heard Britton had a "sadistic sexual interest" in animals and that his "deliberate and planned" conduct resulted in the intentional killing of the dogs. He was said to have used the marketplace website Gumtree Australia to source new dogs and owned a shipping container on his property equipped with filming equipment where he would carry out the crimes. Last year, police said they seized 44 items including computers, mobile telephones, cameras, external hard drives, tools, weapons, dog paraphernalia and sex toys. They also found horrifying videos depicting animal cruelty and at least 15 child abuse material files on his laptop. Crown prosecutor Marty Aust told the court that Britton operated a secret Telegram messaging account which was used for the sole purpose of engaging in conversations with "like-minded people." He had a secondary account he used another account to upload and disseminate images and recordings of his crimes. In total, there were 114 chat threads. In one message, he told someone: "I had repressed it. In the last few years, I let it out again, and now I can't stop. I don't want to." Britton was remanded in custody until 13 December when he will be sentenced.

British Crocodile Expert in Australia Sadisticly RAPED Tortured & Killed 39 Animals Faces 249 Years
Brit crocodile expert who raped and tortured dogs cries as he faces 249 years in prison WARNING DISTURBING: Adam Britton pleaded guilty to more than 60 charges relating to animal abuse, which he managed to keep hidden until police received a tip-off about his disgusting activities AP 12 JUL 2024 ![]() Adam Britton (centre) with his wife Erin (left) and David Attenborough (right) during filming for a BBC documentary ![]() A British crocodile expert who raped, tortured and killed dogs cried in court today as he faces life in prison. Adam Britton admitted 60 charges which included animal abuse and bestialities which were carried out on the inside a shipping container last year. Sick footage which he had taken himself showed him raping, torturing and killing dogs. He now faces a life sentence of up to 249 years in Australia, as court proceedings were adjourned again today to the fury of animal rights activists. The 53-year-old was born in West Yorkshire and has a zoology degree from the University of Leeds and a PhD from the University of Bristol. He pleaded guilty to more than 60 charges relating to animal abuse, which he had managed to keep hidden until police received a tip-off about his disgusting activities. ![]() Adam Britton's dogs Ursa and Bolt, whom he abused Last year Britton, a senior researcher at Charles Darwin University, was charged with eight counts of bestiality, four counts of possessing and transmitting child abuse material, and 37 counts of aggravated animal cruelty. LeedsLive reports Britton's representatives said he had been affected by "paraphilia" during the two-year period in which the crimes took place. This is a condition where a person experiences intense sexual fantasies about objects, places or situations which are considered atypical. As this condition was discussed in court, Britton could be seen wiping away a tear as a security guard handed him tissues. The case has been adjourned pending a psychiatric report and is set to continue on August 8 Chief Justice Grant said the details were "confronting and distressing" as he excused security staff and police officers from the courtroom and said those who listened to them may have "adverse psychological reactions". ![]() Britton had worked at a conservation site for wild crocodiles called Big Gecko in Australia for many years and had sold footage of the animals to the BBC and National Geographic. He was often on social media sharing images of his animals. |
