Oh Crap! 2nd Woman Killed by Shark 650ft From Other Fatal Horror Attack at Tourist Beach

Second Woman Killed by Shark Just 650ft From Other Fatal Horror Attack at Tourist Beach

The woman's lifeless body was pulled out of the sea after being located on a reef, according to ey
ewitnesses who were shocked by the horrific attack

Daily Mirror 3 JUL 2022

A second woman has died after sharks attacked swimmers at a popular Egyptian tourist beach, it was revealed today.

Earlier, horrific footage emerged showing an Austrian woman, aged 68, desperately swimming back to a pier after an arm and leg were bitten off.

The water was red from her blood.

She died afterwards from nervous shock in an ambulance in Sahl Hasheesh, south of Hurghada, say reports.

Now the Egyptian authorities have admitted that a second woman, a tourist, was killed around the same time in the Red Sea around 650ft from the other fatal attack.

Her lifeless body was pulled out of the sea after being located on a reef, according to eyewitnesses.

The horrific first attack saw the victim desperately swim to shore but she could not be saved

Horrific moment a woman, 68, struggles to swim back to shore after 'losing an arm and leg' in a shark attack at tourist beach in Egypt

This is the second shark attack at the beach

Her identity and nationality have not been revealed but she was believed to have been staying at adult-only Premiere Le Reve five star hotel.

The same unnamed Russian tourist who filmed the aftermath of the first attack posted a new video showing the location of the second fatal incident.

Using his finger to explain, he said: “This is a small lagoon where we saw [the shark] for the first time.

“And we didn’t realise it was a shark.

“The attack I filmed [earlier] was here” - he points towards the pier.

“And the body of the second woman was pulled out approximately here.”

The beach was deserted in the wake of the deaths.

Hundreds of tourists had seen the first attack on the Austrian woman who had been snorkelling, wearing flippers when she was attacked in the water.

They complained there were no lifeguards as swimmers fled the sea.

The Russian witness said: “I saw the shark turning and twisting the woman in the water.

“I didn’t manage to film it, but she was twisted in the water.”

Earlier he told how he saw the woman “”fighting off [the shark] with her hands at first, but apparently the shark bit off her leg with a flipper first, then her hand, which it threw it on the corals.

“She was already sitting on the corals, showing her hand [and] leg.

“She was in [a state of] shock.

“She didn't even scream, didn't cry, nothing.”

The pensioner was from Kramsach in the Tyrolean Unterland, say reports.

She had been on holiday in Egypt since 2 June and was on the beach with her partner of Egyptian origin.

The beast that attacked her was an endangered mako shark, which can swim at up to 46mph.

Egyptian authorities imposed a ban on swimming in the vicinity of the shark attacks.

The Ministry of Environment announced today that an expert group was investigating the attacks, seen as rare in the area.

The resort is popular with Russian tourists, and remains open to them in contrast to many European destinations despite the war in Ukraine

“We ask Russian citizens to remain vigilant when in the water, and strictly follow the bans imposed by the Egyptian authorities on swimming, diving and fishing on the high seas and off the coast,” tourists were told by their consulate-general in Hurghada.

They were told to “strictly observe the signals from hotel employees and the coast guards”.
