Boy, 17, allegedly Caught With $88,000 in Cocaine While Texting & Driving

http://storage.canoe.ca/v1/dynamic_r...y=80&size=420x EDMONTON — Cops say they discovered $88,000 worth of cocaine after stopping a 17-year-old boy who was allegedly texting, driving erratically and smoking pot behind the wheel. Police say a member of its Specialized Traffic Apprehension Team noticed a driver in a car who was texting. The cop pulled him over Tuesday shortly before 8 p.m. and noticed a strong odour of marijuana when he approached the car, according to a police release. A search of the car resulted in a seizure of 1,095 grams of cocaine that has a street value of $88,000 and eight grams of marijuana. The cop also seized roughly $1,400 in cash. The teen, who cannot be identified, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession, two breaches, and possessing a government document. He was also issued a $172 ticket for distracted driving. |
