Army Veterans Make 7 Million Poppies Every Year In This Factory

The factory employs army veterans to make poppies that are worn every year to remember those who have given their lives in the armed forces. IRISH Knitted Poppies Hundreds of knitted poppies have been used as part of “incredible” displays across different hospitals to pay respect to those who served and sacrificed their lives as part of the Armed Forces. Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust has decorated the inside and outside of its hospitals with more than 400 knitted and crocheted tributes, including wreaths, with people across the country, as well as staff, taking up their needles to contribute. Edinburgh War Memorial Set on FIRE by Vandals Sturgeon condemns ‘sickening’ destruction of Remembrance wreaths BBC 15 NOV 2022. https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/976/cp...m127628884.jpg Edinburgh's War Memorial has been set on fire - less than 24 hours after Remembrance Sunday services were held. Several wreaths were completely burnt in the fire and Edinburgh's Stone of Remembrance blackened with soot. Edinburgh's Lord Provost said it was "disgusting and disrespectful". Police Scotland confirmed they were investigating the incident. Ch Insp Murray Tait said: "Our inquiries are ongoing after poppy wreaths were set on fire at the war memorial in High Street, Edinburgh about 05:00 on Monday. "I utterly condemn this appalling act of vandalism, especially at this time of year when remembrance services have just been held across the country." |
