5. Ticket Sales
Playing off of the last slide, it is becoming increasingly obvious with the mounting anticipation that this should be one of the highest gates in Strikeforce history.
After the disappointing crowd turnout that happened at Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum earlier this month, Strikeforce is in need of a big time event to prove that they can still pack an arena full with paying fans.
It’s not like Strikeforce is alone, either. Bellator and every other promotion in America that is not named “UFC” has struggled mightily to keep ticket sales up while the UFC continues its global dominance of the sport.
There is no real competition between the two brands now that Strikeforce is under the Zuffa banner, but it always helps ticket sales to headline an event with perhaps your promotion’s two biggest draws fighting one another.
