Jody Direen is the most exciting country pop-rock artist to come out of New Zealand in recent years. Hailing from the heart of the South Island (Wanaka), Jody has made a significant impact on the local music scene. Pairing her amazing vocal talent along with her gifted song writing skills, powerful stage presence, hard work ethic and determination, Jody has garnered a loyal following throughout New Zealand and Australia.
Her notoriety, however, has managed to cross international borders leading Jody on an epic journey to Nashville, Tennessee – the capital of country music. After working under the guidance of Bear Grylls’ U.S. based talent management company for six months, Jody released her single ‘Loud’ as a follow-up to her well received 2012 debut album ‘Here We Go’. With an edgier sound and sexier style, ‘Loud’ launched straight to #1 in the New Zealand i-Tunes Country Chart. The 'Loud’ music video made its debut on CMC Australia as the 'Country Pick' for the month. It also peaked at #13 on The Australian Country Official Top 40 (including worldwide country artists) and #4 on The All Australian Country Top 20, remaining there for 3 weeks.
Jody most recently supported Kenny Rogers on his tour of New Zealand and performed just prior to Grammy award winning Kasey Musgraves at CMC Rock’s Queensland to a 10,000 strong crowd. With a CMC Awards nomination for New Oz Artist of the Year under her belt and an international vision, Jody is stepping the ladder to stardom.
