Tito Ortiz
was once considered the biggest name in mixed martial arts. Whether you loved him or hated him you always paid to see him. He helped carry the UFC through the lean years and despite all of the nonsense he and Dana White have put each other through, Ortiz has always come back to the UFC.Without a win since defeating Ken Shamrock in October of 2006, Ortiz no longer holds all the cards. It's very clear here, win and continue with the only organization he has only known. Lose and Ortiz can retire or try and hook on elsewhere, but his options are few and far between.
Ortiz has meant a lot to the sport and to his fellow fighters. He has fought hard to get paid more money and in turn that has helped raise salaries across the board. He has developed a successful clothing brand and should be doing pretty well financially.
Ortiz is a fighter though and it's what he loves to do. To have that taken away from him would add to the misery he has been going through over the past few months due to his problems with Jenna Jameson. He needs to win to keep himself sane!
He won't have an easy task as Bader is a younger, stronger wrestler and has better stand-up. It'll be interesting to see Ortiz fight with his back against the wall. If this is truly it for "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy," I say thank you for the memories.
