Police Identify Suspect in Boxer Emanuel Augustus Shooting

An arrest warrant was issued for a 21-year-old man who is accused of shooting Emanuel Augustus, formerly known as Emanuel Burton, Wednesday night, Baton Rouge Police Cpl. L'Jean McKneely said.
Augustus, 38, a well-known professional boxer, was shot in the head on Monday (Oct. 13) is facing life-threatening injuries according to police.
Christopher Stills is wanted for attempted second-degree murder, felon in possession of a handgun and illegal use of a weapon.
The shooting occurred around 8 p.m. in the 1700 block of Louisiana Avenue, just blocks away from BREC's North 14th Street Boxing Facility in Baton Rouge. Augustus was known to train at the facility sometimes, according to reports.
Augustus is known for being a journeyman and Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s toughest opponent, according to ESPN. Augustus is also known for his fight against Mickey Ward, which was Ring Magazine's 2001 fight of the year.
