An Italian court has sentenced ex-F1 driver Eddie Irvine to six months in prison for his part in a nightclub brawl in 2008.
He was found guilty of "mutual injury" along with Gabriele Moratti, the son of a former Milan mayor.
However, a lawyer of Moratti said both men are likely to have their sentences suspended, meaning neither will spend time in prison.
The incident took place in the VIP section of Milan's Hollywood nightclub and according to the Daily Telegraph Irvine told the court he was "struck by Moratti with two or three punches." Both accused each other of using a glass in the brawl.
Irvine last raced in Formula One in 2002 and took four race victories with Ferrari in 1999.
