Update UFC Fighter Shane del Rosario Suffers Cardiac Arrest

UFC fighter Shane del Rosario is fighting for his life after suffering cardiac arrest brought on by two heart attacks Tuesday morning.

"Shane del Rosario had a catastrophic cardiovascular collapse at home," his manager Jason House said in a statement. "He was brought to the hospital in full cardiac arrest. He was resuscitated in the emergency room back to a stable heart rhythm and blood pressure. He is currently in the coronary care unit critically ill. Our prayers are with him and his family."

The 30-year-old fighter is currently at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach, Calif., and no other details have emerged concerning his condition.

Del Rosario began his mixed martial arts career in 2006, competing in EliteXC, M-1 Global, and Strikeforce. In 2012, he signed with UFC but has not won any matchups, losing to Stipe Miocic at UFC 146 via TKO and to Pat Barry via knockout at The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale.

He was scheduled to fight Guto Inocente at UFC 168 in Las Vegas on Dec. 28, but had to pull out due to a rib injury.
