Santo Domingo.- The HMS Lancaster, commissioned in the British Royal Navy since 1992 will be plying the seas in the Caribbean region, after concluding anti-narcotics and maritime security missions in the Middle East and the Suez Canal.
All ships in its class are named after Dukes, in this case the Duchy of Lancaster, better known as her Majesty the Queen.
Since Queen Elizabeth II is the Lancaster’s Patron, she has a special interest in the frigate, captained by Steve Moorhouse since November 14, 2011.
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is rediscovering its relationship with Latin America, and the Dominican Republic is no exception.
The HMS Lancaster will be visiting the Dominican Republic from November 1 to 4.
