Barbados Company Snaps up Shell’s Dominican Division
Santo Domingo. Dominican Republic
- The company Sol Petroleum will conclude today Friday the acquisition of the Anglo-Dutch Shell Company’s Dominican Republic division, the country’s top aviation fuel supplier.
In a statement disclosed Thursday the buying company said the deal, whose figures weren’t provided, will let Sol Petroleum keep the Shell brand through the current network of gas stations and continue to market those lubricants.
Sun Petroleum is an affiliate of the Barbados based Sol Group, and the Group Vicini is Dominican Republic’s second biggest producer of sugar and cane products, and also has investments in food and beverages, energy, services industry, media, banks, tourism and real estate.
“We welcome the expansion of our business now in the Dominican Republic and the opportunity to extend our businesses relation with Shell along with our partner Vicini," said Sol Group president Kyffin Simpson in a statement.
