At least 34 people are injured after a Greyhound bus overturned on an interstate in southwest Ohio.
Officials with the Butler County Emergency Operations Center say in a statement the bus, carrying 52 people, was headed northbound on I-75 when it overturned about 26 miles north of Cincinnati at approximately 4 a.m.
Authorities say 34 people have been transported to area hospitals. They say six were taken from the scene by medical helicopters, and 28 others taken to hospitals by ambulance.
Greyhound has dispatched an additional bus to transport the uninjured passengers.
The Greyhound bus, which was headed to Detroit and other stops in Michigan, was laying overturned in a cornfield off the right side of the freeway several hundred yards from the road., WHIO Dayton reports.
William Brown was asleep inside of the bus when it overturned. He was headed to Detroit to visit his family.
"I never thought that I would be part of an incident that occurred, especially today, just trying to get home to see my family," Brown said to WHIO. "I'm just glad that a lot of people are still alive and okay."
